What a lovely place to stay. We normally stay in a hotel but as there was 4 of us we decided to check out this place. Best decision we’ve made. Vivienne is so friendly and a right laugh. Always there to help. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are lovely. Breakfast is lovely with lots of variety. Viv even went as far as to get a wheelchair for our stay for my grandad who can’t walk long distances. She honestly goes above and beyond. It is so clean and just a fantastic place to stay.
My pal and I spent 4 nights at Vivienne's and we were really happy with our little room! Everything was clean, she had lots of good addresses and advices for us. She was really kind and didn't mind helping us when we had locked ourselves out 😂 the guest house is pretty close to everything (bus stop, restaurant, Tesco.. ).
Beautifully decorated guesthouse within easy reach of Edinburgh Old Town. Vivienne was a wonderful host - nothing was too much trouble and she had lots of advice on how to get around and what to see. Room - comfortable, extremely well equipped room. We were in room 6 (upstairs, looking out over the garden) - first appearances might be that the room is small, but with all the ledges, alcoves and cupboards, and space under the bed to pop cases, it was like a tardis! Plus, who comes to Edinburgh to sit in their room? The shower was spacious and hot, and the complimentary toiletries plentiful. The facilities in the room were great too - hanging spaces, drawers, fridge, microwave, TV, kettle and teas & coffee too. Breakfast - if you like continental breakfasts, this is surely one of the best I've had. Choice of cereals, cheeses, meats, pastries, bread, yoghurt plus plenty of fresh fruit. It really set us up for the day. Location - just 15 minutes walk from The Meadows, and a 10 min bus ride up to South Bridge (on the Royal Mile) with a bus stop practically outside the door. The area is safe to walk around, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby with discounts in some for being at the Sherwood. I'd recommend the Old Bell Inn on the corner of Duncan St and Causewayside.…
A great base for exploring Edinburgh and the surrounds. We had a very spacious room with excellent buffet breakfast. All Vivienne's recommendations for local places to eat were excellent. There are regular buses to pretty much any area of Edinburgh if you don't want to walk. Contactless payments and an app you can download, suggested by Vivienne, which tells you what buses are coming and where you are - very useful! Highly recommend a trip to the Queen's Yacht Britannia and also to Jupiter Artland, a sculpture park in West Lothian. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and will hopefully return before too long
I is place very confortable, it is a beautiful hotel and it is near to the city center. The bed is extremely relax and it is necesary when you walk a lot. The owner is so hopitable. I recommend this place without dudes.
