Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am a local and a big fan of the Raeburn. I love the atmosphere, like the mix of indoor and outdoor space, and really enjoy their cooked breakfast. For this reason, we chose to ask the Raeburn to host our small wedding reception. It turned out to be an excellent choice. We booked the library and were allowed to customise the table settings and were supported throughout. It also worked brilliantly as evening guests could have a drink in the public bar while we finished up the family only reception. We had an amazing day and the staff were outstanding and their attention to detail was appreciated (special mention to Katy and Bethany). We stayed over at the Raeburn and the room was lovely. I like to sleep with the window open, and my only issue would be the road noise that woke me up earlier than normal. Other than that, the bed was incredibly comfy and the bathroom was very luxurious.

We had the most amazing stay at this hotel! Special shout out to Charlotte at the front desk was outstanding, extremely helpful and accommodating. We booked at short notice and wished we could stay here longer. Great quality food and high quality furnishings in the hotel rooms including very comfortable bed and pillows. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Located in Stockbridge, a friendly, gently busy and bustling area, with excellent public transport links to the City Centre (routes 24 and 29 - sixes buses an hour - £2.00 per single or £5.00 for a day ticket, which included use on the trams from Princes St.) The hotel had a lovely, friendly atmosphere and lovely friendly staff, who couldn't do enough to help. The room was homely and very comfy with great facilities with a nice big bathroom/shower en-suite attached. The food was excellent, and very tasty indeed, with a very good selection of drinks.

The hotel is absolutely faultless, we were really surprised how good is was given the price and being used to paying much more in and around Stockbridge. What really makes this place is its staff, they are welcoming, helpful and friendly, they are just great people in a lovely environment. After staying in the Raeburn I would definitely not waste my time trying anywhere else, it’s by far the best all round hotel in the area.

I have stayed here before but today was just visiting the restaurant for lunch with a friend. We hadn’t booked but were able to get a table in the restaurant. Service was subtle but efficient and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. It’s a simple menu for lunch and the soup of that day was fantastic and the mains of fish and chips and chicken salad were well prepared. We enjoyed a relaxed meal in a warm and friendly environment - so can add the Raeburn as a lunch option if in Stockbridge.

Great room - spacious and well decorated with coffee machine and complimentary tea, mineral water, crisps and biscuits. Bed large and very comfortable. Iron in the room along with hair dryer/curling tongs. Staff very helpful and attentive. One minor grumble in thatthe website says there is on site parked but there are only three bays and all were taken when we arrived. Will definitely stay again.

A return to The Raeburn after a couple of years gap. Still exceptionally comfortable with great staff. The rooms are large and well appointed. The bar and restaurant areas are welcoming - a great breakfast. A perfect hideaway in Stockbridge.

First impression was extremely favourable. Forecourt and entrance lobby smart, clearly well maintained and welcoming. Reception area very small but adequate and most important, manned by an extremely efficient, friendly and welcoming member of staff named Charlotte. Our bedroom had been recently refurbished and was an excellent blend of modern with a "traditional" ambience. In particular, the en suite bathroom was generous in size with large shower, stand alone bath and Victorian tiling and fittings. The entire effect was that great care had been taken in the refurbishment - we were told this had been completed earlier this year. Others in our group were similarly favourable in their comments. We reported that the shower doors required attention as not water tight. We were advised that this had been reported previously and was on a snagging list. A young and highly motivated staff, At breakfast, a little too much so, as our porridge and poached eggs arrived simultaneously!, In all, we will highly recommend this hotel to our friends. A special word of praise to Charlotte at reception, who also multi tasked in the dining area when necessary. She is vital to this hotel by exuding warm efficiency and clearly takes pride in her role. Worth her weight in gold.
