Enjoyed 2 nights at this hotel. The reception were very welcoming and even remembered our names and faces from our last stay in March! We immediately felt at home. Room was amazing with a beautiful view over Princes St gardens. Plenty to eat for breakfast, and the restaurant/bar is a cool place to enjoy an afternoon beer. Will certainly be...

The hotel is quiet nice. Reception: a. Small reception related to the size of the hotel, you can stay in a queue more than you expect if you had a long flight. c. The reception is on the second floor from Prince St and there are 2 elevators and a stair can be confusing. Breakfast: a. Spacious restaurant, nice view...

This is a fabulous hotel.m we stayed on the 7th floor- there are only seven, with a spectacular view of the castle. The front end staff did their very best to accommodate us with an early check-in. Sadly, my one complaint and it is important for me, is that the bed was very hard and the pillows were flat.

Wow loved this room great bed great decor and great shower. I was told by colleagues that not all rooms are done yet. Ask for new room types and you can't go wrong and it's a fantastic location in the middle of Princes St. The rest of the hotel a bit worn and tired but comfortable.

We were given a very warm and friendly greeting when we arrived for our short stay. The staff were as pleasant and helpful as ever. Myra and Vicky are a credit to the company. The room was very well maintained and clean. The Breakfast could not be faulted. Cant wait for our next visit. My only complaint is that the...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. It was booked using our Tesco clubcard points so didn't cost anything but we had to pay for breakfast. Rooms outdated. Not the cleanest, had a horrible view but amazing location right near to everything brilliant if wanting to explore! However there are more hotels on the street that must be better than this one. However nothing major just needs to make a few changes and could be wonderful

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
