Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed her for a two night visit late February. We had no idea what to expect beyond the few reviews here. It is tucked in (as an American) is an alleyway. Distinct door but very unassuming entrance. Buidling does have an elevator but it is very small and you do have maneuver 2-3 stairs up, then a landing, then 2-3 more steps ups. The alleyway is cobble stones to rolling your luggage is not ideal. We stayed n apartment 6 on the 4th level. The unit had a washer/dryer in its own closet at the entrance of the unit, a large bathroom with tub/shower combo. Bathroom had a large ledge to store your toiletries and such. Tub is very narrow but again has a nice cubby to store your shower products (some are provided but I like my own) Down the hall is a separate room with the kitchen and a sofa and tv. The TV is very small by US standards. Sofa was ok. Kitchen was well equipped. We had a one bedroom unit that was described as a king bed - it is not a US king. In the UK a king bed is equivalent to our queen. It was a spacious room but a very awkward placement of the wardrobe with little access to hang anything. Our deluxe room had a view of the rooftops across the alley. They provide one hand towel and one bath towel. No facecloths. The bed was VERY firm. Could use a topper for comfort. It does not have a top sheet and blanket like an American hotel. It is a quilt with a duvet cover. I loved this as this is how our beds at home are done. But a shock from some. The location does seem tucked away but we were able to easily walk everywhere - Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, loads of restaurants, and shopping. It was a short walk to take the City Sightseeing bus tours as well. The office is just a short walk down the alley and they are very kind and have facilities to store your luggage if needed. We did enjoy our stay here and would recommend it - I just wanted to state what I was not aware of to set the expectations. We did book another one of their properties in Glasgow and stayed there after

We arrived late and we weren’t given was any entry code previously. It cost us a lot of time and energy to finally get it on a Saturday night . The next door apartment was being painted and they left the door open so the paint would dry. All our apartment smelled tremendously bad to paint. Finally on the advertising it says apartment with castle view, inexistent!! The apartment inside was great, with everything working properly and clean.

Great location. Everything is done via a key code so no chance of losing the keys. Really clean. The beds are comfy. The facilities are amazing, there is even a washer dryer and a dishwasher, perfect for a couples visit of family of 4. 2 bathrooms with really nice toiletries and towels. The lounge/kitchen was great with teas and coffee washing up liquid etc. It was a great stay and I would use these again. There is no parking.

Quiet and spacious apartment with full facilities overlooking an historic lane surrounded by pubs, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs. Close enough to walk to all of central Edinburgh's major attractions, five minutes to the tram stop and a couple of minutes in each direction to an off-license/convenience store. The beds were comfortable and the mian bedroom was bright with a large living/dining area. Unfortunately, the laundry facilities were a bit of a let down as the drying cycle took a very long time and didn't really leave our clothes dry. The closest parking is in St James Square, which is 15 minutes away, but that hardly detracts from the comfort and quiet luxury of these rooms. We could step around the corner and literally be in the thick of it, then duck upstairs and be in total solitude. Highly recommended.

From outside, the impression is it great. However, once you get inside, you appreciate the high quality of this apartment. Immaculately clean and well presented. All kitchen equipment you could want. Extremely warm. Without heating, the temperature was 22 degrees per the Nest controls. However, the wide opening windows mean you can cool the room easily, eg bedroom. Bed was extremely comfy. The bathroom has a bath but is effectively a large shower tray as there are no taps. Overall a really great base to stay with restaurants nearby, with great bars. TIP . The Educated Flea restaurant was just amazing but you must book We would definitely use this again

The location is not bad. Short walk to attractions and shops but quiet. It was great to have their office nearby so we could go there if there’s any problems. The staff was very helpful. There is also a lift which is so good for bringing up all our luggage. Having a kitchen is very useful. We could make ourselves drinks or order takeaways and can warm food if necessary. The fridge also served to cool our milk and juice. There is a Sainsbury nearby for groceries. The apartment was big and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom good and modern. The whole apartment had this cooling/heating system which kept us comfortable.

The two things that let this place down slightly were apart from inside the bathroom itself (where there were obviously no plug socket there was no other mirror at all in the apartment?! I'd only brought a small compact mirror with me sp really struggled to do my hair! You also could not check your outfit etc. The other thing is parking. It is misleading to say they have free parking - they don't. They do get you 20% off at Waverley Station car park but it's a mile away, so people should be aware of this. But the apartment itself was nice, clean of high spec and right in the heart of the new Town.

Spent a long weekend in Edinburgh at the end of September and stayed at these beautiful apartments! The location is perfect, with being only a 5 minute walk from the city centre and crown street which is full of lots of lovely bars / restaurants. Slightly on the expensive side but totally worth it, so clean and tidy and very quiet too considering it’s location. Would definitely stay here again
