Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an average hotel, but pretty good facilities. The conference facilities and gym are well equipped. Nice indoor pool and spa as well. Rooms and lots of the facilities and décor are very dated. food offerings in the restaurants are average. Facilities are clean. No glam but decent overall.

I stayed in the hotel for the weekend to celebrate my wife´s birthday. The Hotel is nearby the airport ( around 10 minuties by bus). Public transport is very good in Edinburgh so we had no problem at all to get into the hotel. Room is very spacious, good shower and very clean in all aspects. The bar staff was very nice and helpfull. Burges and fish and chips are very tasty. I would like to mention Stella from reception that was very friendly and helpfull with us as we arrived before check in time because of the rainning and she found a room for us.

review after our 2night stay. 2adults 2children. Reception amazing, very helpful! I think Pooja? And another young girl that was on Tuesday afternoon. Bar- polite, need more training. Tuesday night we had a cocktail and a pint of Stella. Lovely! The boy served us very friendly and kind. On Wednesday night, I had same cocktail and a pint of Stella. Stella came in a normal pint glass, cocktail was awful!! I took the Stella back and requested a Stella glass with Stella. Which I got, I don't think they were impressed! It was a young girl, I suggest she just needs more training. Pool- very friendly and welcoming boy on the desk. Oh how lovely and warm the pool was! Poolside wasn't the cleanest, looked a bit grubby. Showers and toilets need upgraded to match nice changing area. Breakfast- lovely, hot, quick, and good variety. Room- large space. It was quite cold, also a draught coming though the windows. What I would to complain about is the dust!! The skirting boards were full of dust. Behind the unit I was looking for a socket to put my charger- the clumps of dust were awful!! The drawers on the dressing table were not cleaned and still had stuff in them. The room was not the cleanest! Buses run every 10 minutes outside the hotel into Edinburgh. Number 100 or number 31 both get to princes Street.

The front desk was not at all cooperative. Even after requesting, no one cleaned the room! No one did anything for a birthday. No one even valued our platinum elite membership. This was the worst marriot experience we ever had!! Even the hot tub wasn’t working. Things we saw on website and things we experienced were very difficult!!!

What you get for £180 per night is coming in from a relaxing day in Edinburgh to find your room the same way you left it in the morning no clean towels bin still full, you would have thought the chamber maids could have fixed not changed the beds at least and replenished towels and emptied the bins as we are here with the kids!! Carpets at the bar areas not even hoovered under the tables lol absolute shambles of a hotel obviously getting run on a shoestring budget but charging Joe Public good money this chain is spoiling the good name of the Marriott if I had knew that they only see to your room before I booked it I would have booked a proper hotel still to have my evening meal but not sure what to expect if this is how thier running the place Disappointed is an understatement

My husband and I along with our 3 year old stayed here the night before our holiday and for one night on our return. I was apprehensive about staying after reading some reviews. Our first stay I was surprised to find the hotel was a lot better than had been portrayed. The room was large, warm and clean. Staff were friendly and breakfast was nice. Basic but nice. Nice smelling toiletries in the bathroom. The location is about 10 mins taxi ride away from the airport, very handy but costs around £15 as you have to pay for them to enter the drop off area at the airport. You can use the bus service which is cheaper but we didn’t use this option. Sadly, on our return we arrived at the hotel just after midnight. Check in was straight forward and the member of staff was nice however when we arrived in our room (079) it was absolutely freezing. Right at the end of a corridor next to a fire door. It was so so uncomfortable. We turned on the oil heater that was left in the room (if they have provided this they knew there was an issue with the heating in th room). It did nothing, no heat at all. We had to all wear an extra layer to bed and socks. The bathroom was unbearably cold. In the morning we rushed to get ready and leave. I mentioned at check out and the lady advised she would let maintenance know about the issue however from previous comments this is a known problem . We did get our breakfast for free which was a nice gesture but this room is completely unacceptable for guests to stay in. It’s far too uncomfortable. We would stay here again but I’d be making sure the room had working heating.

Stayed 3 nights over the half term, first time since it became a delta. The upgrades to the rooms were great, much improved from our last visit in 2022, no restrictions on when children can be in the pool which was great for my 2. Plenty of choice at breakfast, children’s evening menu wasn’t great but we spoke to the restaurant manager who agreed to make a fussy 4 year old macaroni cheese which was a great hit. Staff all friendly and helpful, can’t wait to stay again

We stayed here for the rugby so as is normal on rugby weekends the price was a lot more than any other weekend. We were then very shocked to be asked to pay £8 a night for parking. This from a hotel that advertises that you can stay for 1 night and park free for 15 nights if flying. There is absolutely nothing on the website to say that you need to pay for parking when staying at this hotel. We definitely won't be back, just felt we were being ripped off to pay yet more. Car park is also full of potholes, puddles and mud.

Massive rooms..! Big bed and a lounging area too. Well stocked bathroom with all the facilities for a luxury stay. Came to stay as working nearby but very comfortable night stay and can't wait to come again on my next visit. Location is just off the main road, there are shops and takeaways nearby but involves a small trek of about 25 minutes or so
