The location is just a little outside of the 'old town' city center (10 min. walk) and in a quiet street. The apartment itself looked a little outdated and scruffy, though it was clean. It looks like the rest of the building is occupied by students, it doesn't seem like a 'proper' hotel. It was okay for one night (and...

We stayed at Richmond Place for several days and were very happy with our choice. Our room was a 2-storey open studio with bedroom upstairs and living room/kitchen below, and a small but complete bathroom. The setup recalled a University residence and indeed parts of the building are used as such. That said, we found it very clean, modern, and...

It was a three night stay five minutes from where I was at a meeting. Well appointed and suitable for my needs. No problems at all. Comfy wee flat. Lots of towels soap and toiletries, and two tellies!

We slept 3 nights. These are apartments that are designed for students and your unit is on 2 levels. Second floor is a double bed with access from only one side of the bed...if both of you get up at night this could be an issue since one side is on the mezzanine side. Tv in the room and a...

I am staying in this property for the second time after a year. It was great experience. The breakfast was one of the best I had in the western world. Very pleasant personnel and calm environment. I was on an academic meeting. It was silent ambience that helped me to work through night to prepare my presentations. It was a...

The apartments are well furnished, although lacking fi al touches (lights not working, filthy iron and non- dispensing soap dispenser). Also no bed- making on daily basis. Unfortunately mg apartment overlooked a noisy bus stop on Nicholson St, but the apartment wax fine with shower, toilet, small...

We travelled to Edinburgh for a hen party and these apartments were ideal for what we wanted. They were clean and to a good standard and the location was good as well. We had 3 apartments for 9 girls and all the rooms were spacious enough. The apartments seem to be part of a university halls but for a group...

Me and a few friends came for a festival to stay for the one night and Oh My God the room was gorgeous! Everywhere was so clean! The only downside to it is the heating wasn't that good- but it worked! The shower had a good water pressure, it came with cups, glasses, plates, cutlery etc.. Would recommend

Stayed three nights. no meals but facilities available to prepare. Fell it is bit expensive and definitely not a budget accommodation. Close to city centre, quite place and my self and wife definitely enjoyed the stay in the hotel. Bed was in the deck and i FEEL THE SPACE IN THE BED AREA IS NOT ADEQUATE .

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
