Book Directly with Barony House. Barony House is a lovely Victorian terraced villa, retaining its traditional appearance with some wonderful original cornice work from the Arts and Crafts era and elegant high ceiling rooms. Enjoy bespoke designs throughout the property by the owner, a descendant of a historic pioneer of The Arts & Crafts era, John Ruskin. We are on the main road which takes you directly to the city centre. Catch a passing bus or take a leisurely 29 minute stroll passed the many stunning Georgian and Victorian buildings. The famous Arthur's Seat, the largest hill in Holyrood Park, is a 19 minute walk away, Craigmillar Castle (Scotland's most Intact Castle Ruin) is a few minutes from us and the oldest pub in Scotland (est 1360) is close to us. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each of Barony House's light and airy rooms. Toiletries and a hairdryer are also included. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom. Free Wi-Fi can be accessed throughout the property.

Hello John, yes we are Gluten Free friendly. We have family diagnosed with Celiac so we fully understand and we do not charge any extra to cater for it. We will email you over menu options to consider in advance of your stay. Many thanks for the great question. Paul, Susan and family.

Hello, thank you for your question. Our house is a traditional Victorian townhouse with 1 private space in front. This space can be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Most people do not use a car in Edinburgh so it is often available for you to reserve. :) Otherwise, if it is already reserved, you can park for free on the street next right next to our building with no parking restrictions (we park our own car there). This street is also under constant video surveillance by a security company so is extremely safe. :) Thank you once again, we really appreciate being able to answer your question publicly to help everyone make their booking choice. Of course it is always better to Book Directly with us to make sure everything runs smoothly. Warmest regards, Paul, Susan and family.

Hey there, Thanks for your question - we have a great "mud map" on our website in the "contact us" section. It should give you a perfect idea of where we are. We are ideally located centrally to attractions in the Old Town, as well as easy bus trips to Rosslyn Chapel, Craigmilllar Castle and Arthur's seat. You can walk to the city - 29 minutes or busses go past every 2 minutes until midnight and they are cheap. In fact the buses are a great attraction themselves and only £1.60 per trip or £4.00 hop on hop off all day. Thanks for your question, it was a good one :) xo Paul, Susan and family

Taxi from the airport to our front door is around £25 and it takes roughly 25 minutes. If you have time on your hands, you can catch a council bus for £1.60 from the airport to the top of the main road then walk 15-20 minutes down hill to our place. There is also the Airport Tram or the Airport Express Bus service which is around £6 or so. So many options to get here from the airport. :)
