This is our second visit to the beautiful Edinburgh Residence. My daughter had booked a suite on the top floor. The rooms were sumptuous and immaculate and the attention to small details was impressive. Apart from the beautifully appointed rooms and the magnificent views, the staff rounded off a truly memorable experience. Their friendly yet professional manner was no less...

My friend and I stayed here for one night while in Edinburgh to see a show for her birthday. This hotel made it so special and was the height of comfort and luxury. Every single member of staff couldn't do enough for us and were so professional and helpful. we were upgraded free to a suite on arrival and the...

I have stayed at the Edinburgh Residence twice. I like the quiet location, the items of the rooms/apartments and the staff are very helpful. It does feel a bit like what a first time visitor to Edinburgh would expect - lots of wood and heavy furniture. The decor could do with an update and some of the bathroom fixtures are...

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. We could not fault the hotel at all and had a brilliant experience from start to finish. The staff were excellent, could not do enough for you. The facilties and rooms were lovely and of a standard which truly was the 5*. There were several small touches which really made...

I own 2 weeks at the Edinburgh Residence and have been coming here on a regular basis. I have alstroemerias swapped my weeks for other timeshares in many countries around the world and none of them could me close to the standards of Edinburgh Residence. It is very conveniently situated just a few minutes walk from Princes Street and meets...

We've stayed here twice. Lovely staff - they're always willing to help with anything. A beautiful building, with some huge rooms, and a perfect location. It's on a very quiet street, but it's less than 10 minutes walk from the West End of Princes Street. Finally, a great breakfast - plenty of choice and served in your own room!

The best location, the best staff, the best breakfast and the best value! Great for the rugby at Murrayfield, Great for town centre. Can leave car in carpark all day even after checking out for free, given the parking/traffic in Edinburgh then this is perfect! Great Scottish breakfast. Very private, no restaurant or bar but everything private in your room....

I love this place! It is calm and quiet, the service is next to none, the building so beautiful and the views spectacular yet it is so close to the city. The suites are beautifully decorated and maintained and I look forward to visiting again.

This well established time share now owned mostly by HAPIMAG a very successful Swiss time ownership company is a wonderful place to enjoy all the city and surrounding area has to offer. The service is impeccable and the meals both in house and surrounding restaurants are excellent. Parking is a bit tight but very convenient.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
