Really dirty, really old, really bad atmosphere. Staff not competent at all and quite rude! All the contacts with receptionists were bad. Working very slowly, not trying to help or understanding, just minding there business, rude and not at all competent! When hotel is busy you have to fight for your breakfast in the morning. Everything is running out, not enough staff etc. otherwise food would be okay. No free wifi at rooms! only if lucky twice 20mins per day but not properly working, have to go to public lobby wifi works ok there. Of course no take away early breakfast etc. Carpet very dirty everywhere. mould in bathroom tried to be hidden instead of fixed! just not nice and not at all worth more than 20 bucks.…
Arrived this evening at 8.35, and had to wait a while to check in. Receptionist pleasant and helpful and I was checked in just before 9pm going by my receipt and told by receptionist when I asked about food that bar was open until 9pm, I'd need to be quick Went straight to bar area at rear of reception to be told food was finished and kitchen cleaning down. Asked about a sandwich and advised sandwiches would be available in 10-15 mins. Returned at 9.25 to be told sandwiches were still being made and no timeline for availability. I asked for the manager and given I missed the kitchen closure due to check delays perhaps I could get a sarnie now, it was 50 minutes since I arrived at the hotel? I was advised quite snippily last orders were 8.45pm and that the manager hadn’t seen a queue at reception and her colleague was still training. On the basis that I had seen the manager delivering food orders and cleaning down tables etc in bar area as I waited at reception, it was obvious that no supervision of reception had happened. After enquiring about the elusive sandwiches and asking for a timeline I was advised it would be about a further half an hour still to wait, so an hour since i first asked about a sarnie and an hour and half from arriving. Another guest already in receipt of his meal asked for sauce to go with something, and was told that the kitchen was closed also, no sauce. I gave up on being fed that evening and as I had an early flight, Breakfast at the airport required. I was travelling on short notice with business and this Hotel had late availability. I definitely won’t be back but I’m thoroughly embarrassed that tourists might experience this lack of hospitality - what a greeting to our nations capital. Room was average, no window which I knew about and basic bathroom. Clean but functional. Mattress very thin, and two singles zipped together for a double so a bit lumpy in middle.…
Standard facilities and surprisingly quiet. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room. (You can nip downstairs to fetch the cups they've forgotten.) Bed perfectly clean and very comfortable; rest of the room less so and bathroom could do with a makeover - toilet seat wrong size and about to fall off! The window opens properly and the room wasn't stuffy. Room service arrived at 2 pm. Although you're in the capital of Scotland, don't expect any porridge for breakfast - they don't have any! Breakfast buffet very strangely arranged. I've never had such a greasy cooked breakfast in my life, but the croissants were fine. Staff pleasant.…
Room was dirty(carpets looked they hadn't been hoovered). Women in Reception unhelpful and had little customer service. I had problems with using the access card to get through to room. The room's doorframe was broken.
So this so called "hotel" is one of the worst I have ever been at. As soon as I came to check in, I ordered myself a drink and there was lipstick on the glass. You would think that they would give me a new drink right as contamination etc but no. Poured it into a new glass which still was not cleaned well at all. The room, what a disaster. The bathroom looked like it had been in there for years, the sink was cracked and there was still hair in the drain. The towels had black makeup stains on them and the carpet was a mess, the whole place was filthy. I dread to think what the bed would have looked like under a UV light. If you're going to class yourselves as a hotel, for £231 for a 2 night stay it needs sorted out. I will not be back.…
