Excellent location on the west princes street - we used the hermiston park and ride and the bus stop was just a 30 second walk away from the hotel. There was no noise from outside the hotel that we heard on floor 6 but an issue with the heating in our room (a pipe that was squeezing so loud it...

An overnight stay with friends, excellent location, asked for rooms to be adjacent which we were given, both rooms immaculate, staff were so helpful, especially Chris, what a treasure he was, nothing was any problem. We decided to eat in rather than go searching for somewhere which was a good decision, lovely meal and also a fantastic deal of 2...

The location really makes this hotel a great stay! There are many restaurants and bars close by. Also the staff was extremely helpful. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to be in the heart of Edinburgh. The tram from the airport drops you off right in front, so it was easy to get to. Our room was right...

Very good all round stay, in this City Centre Hotel. Buffett type breakfast (none of the eat as much as you can nonsense in other Premier Inn restaurants). The restaurant is in-house as well which is very convenient. No road noise audible in our room, so a good night sleep every night of stay.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
