Kitchen closed at 830pm., offered other bar meals like fish and chips but expected a choice of meal before 9 pm., poor for prices they charge. The manager waned ti resolve but could not provide food so a waste of time… better to stay in a chain that offers consistency of service.

We booked this hotel for a 2 night cozy stay in Edinburg. Price was a bit over our budget but we thought it was worth it considering the room images and hotel description… that until we got there! As we booked in we were allocated to the room 201 a disabled room (where a wheelchair would find it difficult to move to the side of the bed) with a big toilet but completely inappropriate to a 4* hotel. Shower gel and shampoo was left on the top of the hand rail and towels on the side of the windows. No furniture or shelves at all. Despite of it, the room shares the wall with the hotel’s bar and restaurant toilets and some services room. There was a party going on so people would keep coming to the toilets, using the hand dryer and talking at the hall just outside the room well after midnight. Throughout the night, some machinery noisy would be heard from time to time, lasting long enough to wake me up every single hour until about 5 am when the staff started cleaning the toilets and the hall outside. All that well heard in the room! That was a very difficult sleepless night that made me regret my stay. We did ask to be moved soon after booking in to the room and heard all the noisy coming from the restaurant but we were told by the lady that there was no other rooms available and in fact that room is not frequently used but they had too that night as they were fully booked. We did ask again to be moved in the following morning as we could not stand another sleepless night and thankfully we were given a proper room (somehow there was a room now). The 2nd night was a completely different experience with a small but comfy room and proper toilet. With no weird noise going on. Should we have stayed there from the first night and our experience (and review) would have been completely different. Apart from the lady at the first night that did not care about our wellness and comfort, all the other staff was nice and caring.

Lovely staff, so friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the radiator in our room when we checked in but they sorted it straightaway. The room was spacious, clean and cosy. Ideal location from the city centre as only a 10min bus ride away and the stop is literally 30 seconds from the hotel. The breakfast is definitely worth getting and we even had dinner there the first night. Normally, I don't expect much from a hotel restaurant for dinner but this was high quality.

Came here with a big group staying for a conference, and was greeted by the female receptionist who was really helpful with any questions we had. She recommended we went to dinner in the restaurant inside the hotel and it didn't disappoint, great service from Cat and some lovely cocktail recommendations by Alex the bartender. Would definitely stay here again if I am in town

Place was nice and clean, also nice bar and restaurant. I stopped in room 201 ground floor and the problem was that there was a loud banging sound like pipes rattling throughout the night. I hate complaining but told the receptionist when I left and he didn't seem bothered which was a shame. If I had been given a proper apology I wouldn't have left a poor rating. Customer service is everything!

I stayed here, pre my holiday in Italy. It’s a lovely pub that I have drank in, on rugby days, when I used to live in Edinburgh, however I’ve never stayed there before. I booked a smaller room, due to being a solo traveler, it was cosy but for me, it was on the second floor!!! my fault, I should have been more specific when I booked. However on checking in, Roddy the assistant manager took my cases up for me. Thank you. I met up with friends for the evening and we were served by the lovely Patricia, another great member of this establishment’s team. Plus a very pleasant barman served us. Nice food too. The next day, Kyla was serving in the bar/restaurant with Patricia, she is another lovely lass. Lastly I would like to thank Rodeka on reception, who helped me with my suitcase coming down the stairs, AND for allocating me a ground floor room, for my night of my return. All in all, a very pleasant stay with attentive staff. Well done.

The food truly is sublime, opinion not just me but my wife. I had personally the pork, salivating fusion of flavour including the mash potato. What was most impressive was the attention from the staff: Rosie, Alex, Sonny, Rachel, Ben. Two lads in particular were awesome and really appreciate empathy. Also, appreciate help with watching the Liverpool game, went to lengths to sit me in a position to enjoy the game (even though lost). Recommend the Australian Chardonnay white wine smooth taste.

Hello, Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience at the restaurant! It's great to hear that both you and your wife enjoyed the food and that the staff, especially Rosie, Alex, Sonny, Rachel, and Ben, provided exceptional service. It sounds like they went above and beyond to make your time there special. Sorry to hear about the Liverpool game, but at least you were able to enjoy it comfortably with the help of the staff. I'll definitely keep the Australian Chardonnay white wine in mind for my next visit. Thanks again for the recommendation! Kind regard, Cameron - General Manager

was really disappointed with my stay. The make receptionist when l checked in was not welcoming snd it seemed l was being a nuisance checking in. l had booked a twin room was given a very small room with one bed and Lucy l am not a big person as l would have had trouble getting into the shower. There were black hairs on the white tiles in the shower. What revolted me was the human hair ball on the floor near the bin. When l mentioned it to the receptionist he just said he would speak with his supervisor who would have to speak to the head of house keeping. Next day l expected it to be rectified but got back to the room and expected the hair ball to have been removed but to my disgust the bin had been emptied but the hair ball was still there. When l checked out the female receptionist could not wait to get rid of me. The room was hot, had to stand on the bed to open the window. Extremely disappointed. Will not be recommending it to anyone. Was told it was a 20 minute walk into the centre of Edinburgh rethink that it took me 50 mins and l am not a slow walker.
