Good location walking distance to The Meadows and The Haymarket. Liked the decor in the bar and lounge areas. Pool and jacuzzi good also has a small sauna and steam room. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Room temperature nicely cool. Bathroom well designed with bath and separate shower - separate toilet. Breakfast good service relaxed.

We stayed here for three nights. It was good of the hotel to state clearly on the website that renovation would be ongoing during that time, so we weren't unpleasantly surprised by the noise. The noise was only during the day, when we were mostly out and about, so it didn't bother us much. Our standard double room was very...

Rooms good staff friendly and helpful. The steak wasn't fit to be used as the sole of a shoe They asked if I would like to try something else so I tried the fish and chips. My comment on the fish is that it had more bones in it than a corset. Shame really the young lady who served me...

Great location. Perfectly comfortable. Staff overall professional, courteous and competent. Occasionally showed irritation and became flustered at busy times, but otherwise composed. For European travelers, the family suite room we shared (2 adults 2 youth between 11 & 14) was snug. Well organized and very clean. For those used to travel in the US, room would feel very close. Restaurant...

Stayed here in February after winning a 2 night stay with the Accor group.Nice hotel. Given a room with the view of the castle. Comfy beds. Plentiful breakfast, if a little chaotic. No complaints at all.

Everything run smooth since our arrival at the hotel. The receptionists were kind and everything was ready. The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast is good and the waiters are kind and professional. We will use this hotel again in our next visit.

Clean, spacious and bright with its own pool and sauna. A nice modern restaurant with great staff service great food from a diverse menu. Free wifi and coffee making in the room. Only one minor irritant which unfortunately is the same in a lot of contemporary hotels and that was no electric socket by the bed. I like to charge...

We booked a meeting room for around 50 of my sales team. The room was great, the equiptment work well and the drinks and food went down well. Would book again. Free car parking was bonus. The staff were excellent too.

Took my kids and my elderly inlaws to Edinburgh, decided to stay in the Novotel as it advertised parking ..... yeah 7 spaces to 500 rooms ... and it's first come first serve ... not so good to find out after a 2 hour ferry crossing and 3 hour drive .... had to sort out my own parking ... AT...

We decided to upgrade to a superior room and it was well worth the extra £10 per night. Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
