Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Clarin Guest House. What a beautiful couple. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the hospitality was superb. I can recommend this glorious Guest House very highly. Thankyou Kim and Andy for making our stay so special. You are truly gorgeous people.

Can’t thank Kim and Andy enough the place was perfect for what we wanted. About a mile away from the centre perfect for when you have just eaten a gorgeous breakfast in the Abbey just around the corner. Kim was so informative and friendly. The rooms were clean and well stocked with tea and coffee. Thanks for a lovely weekend we will definitely stay with you next time.

Really lovely hotel, away from the busiest part of town but an easy walk away from Arthur's Seat, Holyrood Palace, The Royal Mile and the Castle. Good transport links too, although we walked everywhere. Great hosts, on arrival Andy talked through the local area with us and marked places on the map tailored to our interests. Andy also made some great recommendations for breakfast and dinner locally. The room itself was comfortable and clean with well stocked toiletries and tea/coffee facilities. Plenty of storage. Reliable Wi-Fi. Excellent value for money.

First of all I'd like to thank Andy for his valuable tipps and support throughout our stay. You can reach the City Centre by bus or private car in 5 minutes or by walking along the zillions of nice little shops and restaurants along the A7. The Guest house itself is a cute old building perfectly restaurated yet full of vintage charm and atmosphere. It's very calm at night. Even though the french bed wasn't too large for 2 Persons (we're not fat!), we had a good sleep at night.

It was our first time in Edimbourg and it was very easy to arrive here from the airport by bus (it stops very close to the street). The owner immediatly opened to us, and it was very easy to join him before we leave our country. Everything was absolutly clean. I recommand it, total gain price/quality!

We would like to thank Kim and Andy as they have been really kind and helpful during our stay. The Guest House was really nice, the room is tiny but was clean and has all the necessary. The position is perfect, close to bus stops and 30 minutes walk from the city centre (we always walked to the centre!). We suggest to take skylink 300 and stop at Minto street because it’s a direct bus to the hotel. Martina and Giulia from Italy

The greeting on arrival was very friendly and helpful and Andy was informative regarding Edinburgh sites and location also pointed me in the direction of where to get a good breakfast and where to eat on an evening. Location is very good with private parking at the rear. 30mins to walk into the centre which is just straight down the road, you cant get lost. The room was lovely and clean with a homely feel and the bed was really comfy. Fantastic value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Edinburgh.

The guest house is in a perfect localization, just around 15 minutes by bus or 30 minutes by walk from the Old Town. The room was clean and comfy, and beds were extremaly comfortable (perfect after a whole day of walking around the city), there were a teapot and a set of tea in the room. The bathroom is shared with other guests but there is a washbasin in the room. Owners are very friendly and helpful, we got from the a lot of useful advices about what to see and where to eat meals. I recommend this guest house.

An exellent well priced guest house. Located 15 - 20 minutes outside Edinburgh. With good transport links into the city. The only down side was that they didn't provide breakfast in location, but was close enough to use other facilities within walking distance.
