I stayed here for a couple of nights in August and was very impressed. My single room wasn't ensuite but I had my own private bathroom, with key, just along the corridor. The bedroom was furnished simply, with single bed, small armchair, wardrobe and desk and wasn't huge but certainly spacious enough for a single traveller. The high ceilings made...

Staff/owners are really kind and thoughtful. We felt very welcome. Breakfast is delicious and the room very comfortable. A very nice surprise for a special occasion also. It's warm, it's like a home away from home. Will be back someday for sure. Thank you!

I stayed in this guest house as it was in close proximity to the Observatory, where I was conducting a weeks work experience. The staff that run the guest house, upon my arrival, informed me about the breakfast services, nearby restaurants, bus and taxi services and throughout my stay were only to kind to help accommodate my needs. Its location...

We spent two nights at the Highfield for our first trip to Edinburgh. Maggie and Gordon were very welcoming and happy to give directions and advice on where to visit. Even if you are brand new to Edinburgh, they can point you the right way in terms of transport, activities, dinner options, etc. Breakfast is very good and generous--you may...

This is our second stay at Highfields. My sisters and I stayed for 7 nights in Sept/Oct 2014. On our arrival, Kate was waiting for us and it was like coming home to family. Met Maggie & Gordon next day, hugs all round. My sisters and I shared the family room this time and it was very comfortable and well...

We just spent 2 nights here and we weren't disappointed. The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped. We received a warm friendly welcome and were given lots of information regarding busses, places worth visiting etc. Their Scottish breakfast is a must, it's fresh, hot and very well organised. We would certainly stay here again and highly recommend...

This was our first trip to Edinburgh and we were delighted to have found this B&B, a fairly short walk from the heart of the city. Kate and her sister were very helpful and friendly and provided delicious high quality breakfasts each morning. The eggs were cooked to perfection! The house is newly renovated and our room was very comfy...

Traveliing by myself it was great to land in a comfortable place with a warm welcome! Maggie and Kate were very attentive hosts (without being at all intrusive) and their attention to little things was much appreciated. Knowledge of local attractions and getting around was really handy and they made sure that this was available straight away when its most...
