Detailed Reviews
Stayed 3 nights over New Years and could not have asked for more. Really helpful via email during initial enquiry, booking & directions from city centre so there was a good impression from the start.
Very welcoming arrival and nice added extras in the room including homemade shortbread and Christmas chocolates. Also hairdryer, straighteners, sewing kit, shoe polish and plenty of bathroom products of a good quality which was appreciated.
Room and rest of property was clean and still decorated for Christmas which was lovely. There was lots of information available on local transport and things to do in and around Edinburgh. Plenty of buses to choose from, with 2 stopping very close and more options stopping a short walk away. Room was quiet and lovely view to the rear where we even saw 2 deer one morning.
Breakfast was consistently good with plenty to choose from and changing daily specials. Also, lots of little extras which also changed each morning like scones, cookies and cinnamon buns.
Lesley and Neil were always so friendly and took time to talk to everyone & get to know you. Nothing seemed too much trouble and they definitely made you feel very welcome and not just “another guest”. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks both!

The location is ideal just a few steps away from a convenient bus stop which takes you into Edinburgh. Lesley and Neil are the perfect hosts and are very helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond to help us and make our stay perfect. Breakfast was delicious each day and we tried various options, none of which disappointed. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

If you come to Edinburgh to experience the friendliness and warmth of the people then look no further than staying with Neil and Lesley at Brae Lodge.
I could highlight the very clean and comfortable accommodation, the consistently good standard of breakfast, including daily specials and in particular Lesley's home baking, the convenience of private off-street parking with convenient bus links to the city centre, but it is the warmth and friendliness of our hosts that will make sure we return. As we were leaving on a cold and frosty morning we found Neil scraping the ice off our windscreen, and Lesley had wrapped up some of her delicious apricot filled shortbread for us to take home. You will not find a better B&B in Edinburgh!

Lesley and Neil were the most hospitable, kind, caring and hilariously funny hosts for our 3 night stay. The room was extremely comfortable and while the guesthouse is outside the city centre it is easily accessible (17-20 min) via the #7 and #37 buses with stops just metres from the guesthouse. Breakfast was a tour de force as Lesley is a wonderful chef (ably assisted by Neil) and daily provides a different specialty along with a choice of delicious cooked breakfasts – the full Scottish is not to be missed. Not enough superlatives to describe our stay and cannot recommend highly enough; would give 10 stars if we could.

We spent 4 nights in the comfortable and spacious Superking Room. Lesley and Neil provided excellent hospitality with their friendly welcome. The breakfasts were superb, with specials every day offering a delicious alternative to the usual menu. On our 10th wedding anniversary we were treated to Scots pancakes decorated with figures of 10 in icing sugar dusting! Lesley's home baking is excellent.
Bus links are good with frequent buses into the centre and bus-stops only a few metres away. Despite being located on the main road and bus route, the room was quiet.

Neil and Lesley were very friendly and made us feel so welcome. We arrived earlier than expected but Neil greeted us and got us settled in very quickly. The room was large and comfortable and very clean. The en-suite was a good size too. A bus stop a few yards from the front door made travel to the City really easy. Breakfast was amazing and each day there was a little extra treat delivered to the table. Would definitely recommend this lovely guest house. We will be staying there again.

We stayed in the superking double en-suite room for 6 nights. It was a very comfortable room with a very comfy bed. Everything was clean. The owners make a very nice self cooked breafast every morining. Different things to choose from. Busses in front of the guest house to take you in to the city or to visit Rosslyn Chapel or the penant hills for a beautiful walk.

We spent 4 nights with Lesley and Neil. One of our daily highlights was Lesley's excellent breakfast! Typical Scottish and different dishes every day, served by Neil with Scottish charm, what a pleasure!
The room and bathroom were clean and equipped with everything needed.
The bus station is very close with regular connections to the center.
We can recommend the accommodation with pleasure.

We stayed at Brae Lodge Guest house and what can I say the place was clean and the room was a good size and extremely comfortable. We had amazing breakfasts of which some of the items were baked by Lesley. Both Lesley and Neil were both wonderful host and make sure to chat with us each day after breakfast before we headed out for our adventure that day. They made us feel very welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thank you Lesley and Neil for making our stay so memorable.
All the best to you both keep up the great work

Hello,
The guest house is 2 miles from the centre. Previous guests have said the frequent bus service is excellent and the stop is just down the road. We have free car parking if you require.
If we can help with anything else please let us know.
Lesley & Neil :-)
