Rolling joints between regulars and staff. Awesome. Drug central Really overpriced aswell for such a small, crappy place. Will comeback tho.......yer know, if I wanna get stoned and lose all my money on one round of drinks
Five of us tried the new beer garden at Victoria Park and we were thoroughly impressed! On arrival staff were welcoming and friendly, they seated us in a cosy wee wooden booth with a heater. Service was quick and always with a smile. We tried various drinks, the pints of Tennents were so fresh, brilliant pint! Lovely evening all round.
Visited the beer garden at the Victoria Park a few times in between lockdowns last year and had a great time. Was back last night and had a FANTASTIC time! The beer garden has now had cosy (and, I think, heated) cabins added, and there's still tables available under the heated canopy to the left of the front door. Table service was rapid and friendly and the beer was superb - three cask beers on, and the usual selection of local Pilot ales. Didn't eat, but the food menu looked pretty tempting. Lovely stuff!
For great value for money, its hard to knock this hotel.Rooms are big,and although a touch shabby regarding decor they are big and spotlessly clean, very reassuring during current times.Handily placed for Leith Waterfront which is a pleasant walk through Victoria Park. The walk into the city a good walk, but enjoyable on foot if you dont mind the trek. The pubs of Leith walk offer local refreshments. This place has so much potential with a little investment, the host was a lovely lady who was very welcoming on arrival.
This hotel was just opening up due to covid 19 restrictions. We were the first guests since lockdown. Our room was very clean and the small bar is nice and cosy while social distancing. The beer garden also maintains social distancing. The staff are extremely friendly especially Justine and the owner went out of his way to fix a few little matters personally 😘 it is quite a walk into the city centre but the number 11 bus runs every 15mins. We wish them all the best during these challenging times x
Stayed here for one night after a day spent walking round Edinburgh city centre. It was very well located and had free off road parking. The guy on reception was really friendly and even said he was happy for us to order a chinese takeaway to be delivered to our room. Room was spacious for the three of us, bathroom had everything we needed. The restaurant was closed so breakfast was continental but it was lovely and really well presented. I am sure we will stay here again when visit Edinburgh in the future.
Having stayed here a number of times in the past, we were already sad to learn there was no longer a cooked breakfast however that is reflected in the new pricing. There is also no evening food, which there had been in the past and was always lovely. This i formation was not given to us upon arrival at check in. The room was dated and in need of redecoration. There is a button on the headboard which I presumed operated the bedside lamps, but no it does nothing! There is no air con or fan available and some windows do not open due to being painted shut, we managed to get it opened and had to prop it open with a shoe, hardly what you expect. The beds are solid and it felt like sleeping on a rock. The pillows are painfully thin and hard, I struggled to sleep because of this. The duvet cover is ill fitting and there seemed to be lots of excess duvet cover flapping about. There was noise during the night from above lots of walking backwards and forwards and as the floorboards creak a-lot as it is an old building you can here every footstep. This also impacts on your sleep. The shower lever is hard to control as you pull the pull forward for power and left for heat right for cool, if you accidentally knock it with your elbow while showering you run the risk of burning yourself as it is so sensitive. All in all a very disappointing stay here, it feels as though its being run into the ground. In light of the fact the hotel is up for development (possibly a HMO) this could explain everything. It feels like they are just waiting for the right opportunity to come along so no investment will be made in the place in the meantime. Shame because we have enjoyed staying here in tge past…
This place has so much potential. Supposedly renovated, the decorator/builder should be taken to task. Shoddy workmanship through out. The rooms were not completely clean either. However, it has a nice owner and staff, who could not do enough for you. Food was nice as was the breakfast. This place desperately needs the Hotel Inspector as the potential is there!
We stayed 2 nights in room 8. The windows opened well and the room was clean. The shower was on its own and not in the bathroom but it worked well. Our neighbors were loud and we could hear them well but we brought ear plugs so we were fine. The breakfast was delicious and there were plenty of options. The bus to the city center is number 11 and just around the corner. The bus ran every 10 minutes and cost 1 pound 70 each way. Great place to stay.
Requested bottle of wine to surprise fiancee for birthday nothing was mentioned had go bar buy one which was different from price told in email room was dusty and stained with holes in walls felt uncomfortable and being judged way I looked breakfast was basic but toast cereal boiled egg or tiny off tasting pastries and Luke warm coffee wasn't worth money I spent very disappointed
