Actually, it was better than that as Rae and Peter are excellent hosts who really look after you throughout your stay We were in the room overlooking the very pretty rear garden. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the room had everything you would expect Breakfast choice was amazing, fresh fruit and yoghurt, as well as cereals and plenty of hot choice. Hard to choose a favourite, but think the scrambled eggs edged it. The scotch pancakes and blueberry muffins were a lovely additional touch, even if we were struggling to eat any more M Rae and Peter always had an idea for us to consider for a trip out too. Location for us was ideal and the buses ran close, while the house was on a really quiet street Overall, i would highly recommend and would love to return

We booked with Rae and Peter for an evening as we were going to see the Stones. From the moment we arrived it was like returning to friends. So nice and friendly and as previous reviews say, an offering of tea or cold drink on arrival. So off we went and returned to our lovely room and en-suite with comfy beds. The next day we had a beautiful breakfast. Having a breakfast on a Sunday morning is a real treat but having it delivered with such beautiful presentation made it even nicer.Gorgeous little silver spoons and dishes with a special story of acquisition attached. Then the home made pancake and mini muffins with home made jam was the finale. Although we didn't have room for them, we took the muffins home with us and had with a cup of tea. Delish. Such an interesting couple to talk to about their previous life in South Africa. Totally enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend and return. Thanks Peter and Rae.

We stumbled across this hidden gem as we were desperately searching for somewhere to stay on New Year's Eve. However, it should have been the first phone call we made as it was just what we were looking for! We had a traditional Hogmanay in Edinburgh, and enjoyed an abundance of much-appreciated traditional Scottish hospitality at Craigmore B&B. It was like home from home. Rae and Peter (and their adorable dog) were fabulous hosts and nothing was too much trouble. They were very friendly, chatty and offered great customer service with a smile. They welcomed us with a pot of tea, lovely cake and shortbread. The freshly-cooked breakfast was also delicious and plentiful - we could choose what we wanted and what time we wanted it. The twin room was great with a huge en-suite bathroom. The location is also great - there are regular buses into Edinburgh at the end of the road (including night buses) and it's in a quiet, residential neighbourhood. Would really recommend this place. Forget the faceless chain hotels in the city centre and opt for some true Scottish hospitality instead!

Charming and very interesting hosts who made us feel right at home. Rae's special attention to the details in the breakfast/dining room were lovely (right down to the thistle-topped sugar spoon, so cute!). The official welcome dog, Molly, was precious. Our breakfast was delicious and the beds very comfortable. The location was excellent: close to the airport and right off a couple of bus stops so you can go downtown and back without hauling your bags a mile. Overall: highly recommend, and I'll definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Edinburgh.
