We stayed at the Sandilands Guest House the end of March 2013. We enjoyed a very delicious breakfast every morning. John and Maureen were very kind and helpful. The room was very stylishly decorated, and as a Gideon, it was nice to find a Bible at the bedside. The location is absolutely perfect. We walked to Edinburgh Castle, and the...

How can I describe my holiday in this place? Just with only one word: PERFECT ! John, the owner, is really polite and welcoming, his house is really beatiful, really comfortable, we had 2 great nights in a silent room. Everything was perfect, I appreciated so much the scottish breakfast. This house is not so far from the city centre,...

The environment provided at Sandilands is excellent, helpful advice, great breakfasts (whatever you would like), comfortable room and bathroom although the bed could be a little firmer. One of the best features was the bus stop across the road, with buses running frequently, it was a quick ride into the new and old town. Highly recommend the guest house operated...

John was his usual hospitable affable self and it was lovely to stay here again. The breakfast was first class and I found this B&B completely faultless. I look forward to my next...

We booked a 3 night stay for New Years at Sandilands through Hotels.com (an Expedia company). We received 2 confirmation emails from Hotels.com, but when we arrived Sandilands had no record of our booking and no room reserved for us. We are not sure if this was the fault of Hotels.com or Sandilands. Luckily, there were multiple vacant rooms and...

After checking the T.A. reviews our expectations were higher than the actual experience. Pros: Bus stops very close to get you in and out of central Edinburgh. Walk into town of about half an hour. The actual bedroom was well-equipped. Cons: The interior needs modernizing and decluttering. The dining room is not big enough to allow guests to move around...

We lucked out finding this B & B. We were trying to find a place to stay and there was so much traffic that we couldn't get to a couple places that we saw had openings. John fit us in as they were slowing down with their business after a busy tourist season. We had a nice room and John...

stayed here 2 nights as we had booked for the Tattoo. Made to feel very welcome. John was very helpful regards buses. There was a stop over the road and it only took about 10 mins to get to the centre so our car never moved all weekend. There was a good selection for breakfast and tea and coffee in...
