Really close to the airport (tenner in a taxi) Was a budget hotel so not loads of the comforts but was a decent size clean room with a tv. No arguments. Wasn’t able to hang about for breakfast as was out fairly early but the bar staff the night before were very friendly

This particular Ibis Budget is absolutely superb, in fact, I would go as far to say that of the nine Ibis Budgets I have resided at in the UK, this is the finest of them all. A hotel that offers wonderful value for money, basic yet comfortable accommodation on the outskirts of the city of Edinburgh that guests will find hard to fault. I received the warmest of welcomes from friendly, efficient and professional, with the service from the awesome team being fantastic throughout the stay, with the team always striving to make sure that my stay was the finest that it could be. The elemental yet welcoming communal areas were spotlessly clean, pleasantly decorated and well presented providing guests with a bar serving drinks and limited food as well as a place to eat a buffet breakfast. The rooms are functional yet also immaculately clean and well-presented with all the amenities that you require for a comfortable and relaxing stay including a powerful shower, a flat-screen television and excellent free Wi-Fi connection. Located in the Edinburgh Park Business District some eight miles from the centre of the city yet with fabulous public transport connections nearby to the hotel; with the Gyle tram stop just a 5 minute's walk away where the tram will transport you to the heart of the city in about thirty minutes all day and night. For those travelling by car, the parking is not included in the rate and is an additional cost. The Ibis Budget Edinburgh Park is an excellent value for money, a comfortable and clean place to stay which exceeded my expectations in all aspects.

First impressions were not good, I’m a solo traveller who uses an electric wheelchair. Approaching from the local tram stop the path to the hotel ends in steps! There is an unlit, unsurfaced path around the rear of the property to a ramp, but it’s not signposted. Asking the reception desk for the accessible entrance and that’s it! The room - oh dear. Not even a kettle! The only power socket in the room is 3 metres+ away from the bed head, users of CPAP & BIPAP machines (other breathing machines are available) beware! The only way to charge your wheelchair up is to position it on the plug side of the bed, the gap across the foot of the bed not exactly being generous. The answer appeared to be 3 X 1 metre extension leads plugged into each other and stretched across the floor creating a nice little trip hazard and meaning that every time you wished to go out you were forced to unplug it all to create an unobstructed path to the door! The heating was the air conditioning system- brilliant at heating one side of the room! I’ve had bigger computer monitors than the telly, positioned the same 3+ metres from the bed as the plugs! The toilet/ shower was functional enough but clearly designed by someone not used to the larger person - a toilet that protrudes from the wall rather than sits on the floor, lovely to look at - Not to use! No plug in the basin made having a shave a marathon to be accomplished before the hot water runs out. As budget goes, it’s definitely that, the price for it when I booked was above the price of a premier inn close by, which leads me to believe that ibis will not be getting any custom from me in the future

Dear calebabbott2010, Thank you for sharing your review. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. I am pleased to clarify that our heating systems are fully functional, ensuring a warm and comfortable environment for our guests. Should the room layout present any challenges, we are more than willing to provide extension cords to accommodate the charging of electronic devices such as wheelchairs. Regarding the television units, they have been selected to complement the size of the room, ensuring functionality without compromising space. Our aim is always to balance comfort and practicality. As for the bathroom facilities, the design is indeed reflective of the Ibis budget brand standards. We strive to provide a clear expectation of our room offerings, with photos and descriptions available on our website. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the positioning of the plugs. It is certainly not our intention to cause any disruption to our guests' comfort. Please rest assured that we are committed to the satisfaction of all our guests and we welcome any further comments or suggestions you might have. Sincerely, Irmantas, Team Lead

Bring your slippers as the floor isn't carpeted & was very cold. The heating via the air con unit was working but I had to keep it on all the time as the room didn't seem to be able to keep the heat in the room, worrying for a modem building. Advertising on their website that there is a "restaurant" is a gross mispresentation, there are two hot meal options, pizza or a panni. The pizza for £11 is grossly over priced. 1/2 mile away you can get a carvery midweek for £8.99 or £10.99. Breakfast was fine but not worth £8.50. Otherwise bed comfortable & room clean.

we stayed here on the 6th October to the 9th first impression of the hotel were great i work for Accor. staff very welcoming we was given early check in. Apon entering the room we was given a small bed with a bunk bed and the shower in the room this was not appropriate as i was shearing a room with my brother we had to share the double bed as the bunk bed was to high for anybody to climb we asked if could change rooms but all weekend we got told that the hotel was full. we was given comp breakfast each morning during our stay which was fantastic as we had a busy week end would not return to the hotel until the evening i would personal like to thank some of the staff for looking after us particular Bikram and Hasti and also Amaya the staff member went above and beyond for us doing everything possible for us to enjoy our stay would return only downfall is the room. we had a 4 hour drive from manchester but we was tired so just got on with it. Also would like to thank Irmantas for arranging the comp breakfast every morning with me being Accor staff.

The claim is this is a budget hotel but for the price the rooms are tiny, they have no proper restaurant, there is nothing but the tram stop close by and i truly felt my company were ripped off at the price. Sandwich or pizza only menu items and most beers and drinks not available. Staff too busy to serve. Not great

For the money payed for the room Utterly disgusted the corridor leading to my room have not been cleaned in weeks or seen a Hoover in weeks. Room black mould all round the window, the fan boxes in the room haven’t been cleaned in months Breakfast abysmal if you like a fried traditional breakfast do not book here. Arrival didn’t feel the staff was friendly was so rushed. And I asked a question where I was huffed at. For not using the QR code. First and last time I will stay here.

Responded 29 Sept 2023
Dear Russ M, I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the less than satisfactory experience you had during your recent stay at Ibis Budget Edinburgh Park. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and I want to address each of your concerns. Firstly, I apologize for the condition of our corridors. We recently underwent a renovation, including changing the carpets, which caused some temporary disruption. We are actively working to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of these areas. I also want to express my apologies for the dusty fan boxes and mold around the windows in your room. This falls well below our standards, and we are taking immediate steps to rectify these issues with our housekeeping and maintenance teams. Furthermore, I'm truly sorry to hear that you felt rushed by our staff. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. We will conduct additional training to ensure that our team members are attentive to our guests' needs and allow for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. However, during peak times, our staff endeavors to distribute their time and attention as evenly as possible to all our guests. We aim to provide prompt service while ensuring that no one feels hurried or neglected. Again, it seems we fell short of this balance during your stay, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Once again, I deeply regret the inconveniences you encountered during your stay. We value your patronage and hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with the exceptional service and comfort we are known for. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. Warm regards, Irmantas, Team Lead

The hotel is about 6 miles out of Edinburgh centre, good points very near train and tram stations as well as a major supermarket across road. It’s in a middle of a business park which was the reason I choose it but there were more tourists wanting to escape the busy bustle of the centre, it is good value. The issue I had was there rather limited bar menu of pizza and few staff at busy times, the rooms are very plain and basic. So if you just went a place to sleep it’s ideal.
