Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Highly recommended. Very comfortable apartment, very clean and nicely decorated. I was very happy with the location. Its was just a walking distance to all the tourist attractions. And its very well priced.

Just returned from a weekend away in Edinburgh and stayed here. It's in a great location (5 minutes from bars/restaurants on Royal Mile), there is lots of space, there's WiFi/satellite TV, a cafe across the road, and overall I'd recommend it for anybody going to Edinburgh. The battery went in our fire alarm and I had to get the concierge to come and take out the battery which was a bit annoying, but that was more bad luck than anything else.

We only stayed 2 nights but would have loved to stay longer. We were in a 2 bedroom apartment which was lovely. All mod cons and very comfortable although we had difficulty turning the heating down at night. The staff were helpful. The location was fantastic - right next to the Parliament and at the foot of the Royal Mile. One of the best things was the free secure parking. We didn't use our car during our visit, We just walked or used the buses (£3.50 for a day ticket). Would recommend to anyone and would love to return. As someone else said 'much better than a hotel'.

The apartment is in a good location, next to Arthur's seat, however the apartment we rented was in bad conditions. There was mold everywhere: windows, bath, shower...even in the kitchen. The beds were uncomfortable. I will book a different option next time I visit Edinburgh. Very disappointed.

Described as a 'luxury apartment' it was far from it. Dirty microwave, distinct lack of kitchen utensils, grubby cabinet door handles, light bulbs out in every room, threadbare and stained carpet in the master bedroom, shower screen seal not attached rendering it unuseable, distinctly grubby pans, an old and substandard tv.
Not singularly major things but in a 'luxury' context, they're not acceptable. A knob missing from a dimmer is documented on this site back in 2012- still missing.
The booking agents were apologetic and refunded 50% of the charge and also sent 2 cleaners over to attend to things-mopping floors unnecessarily and vacuuming the above mentioned carpet-which has no effect on its condition at all.
A nice space in a good location that was let down by very poor maintenance.
It's ok as an apartment, but luxury it's not.

We arrived at Holyrood at lunchtime to visit Dynamic Earth and called Dreamhouse to arrange entry to the apartment as instructed. After a long delay on the phone they advised that our booking has been 'mislaid' and we were booked into alternative accommodation on the other side of town. Rather than the planned 'large open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room plus balcony' the accommodation provided was more 'student digs' on the busiest Edinburgh street with no sleep past 6am rush hour, not at all suitable for a family with children. We raised our concern and were given £30 for parking that didn't begin to cover the restricted parking at high cost. All planned restaurant reservations had to be cancelled as they were on the wrong side of town, even a day's notice would have helped sort arrangements. Our short trip was ruined and a waste of time and money. We look forward to returning to the beautiful Edinburgh, never again with Dreamhouse.

This is not a hotel - it is a wonderful residential apartment block but Dreamhouse try and treat it like a hotel. From our direct experience with Dreamhouse as business travellers we can offer this advice: NEVER use them! They treat their clients as cattle and this lovely apartment block as if it were a holiday camp. They don't seem to know what their product is. They are disorganised and haphazard. Beware!

Best thing about these apartments is their position. Just one street back from the Royal Mile, it is an easy walk to the castle in one direction and Holyrood Palace the other. The free secure parking is an added bonus as is the wi-fi. Tesco is just up the road and there are resturants nearby.

Had a fantastic two night stay at Dreamhouse's holyrood apartments. All you could ask for and much more. The apartment was spotless, spacious, comfortable and set within a beautiful area of the city. All mod cons, great showers, luxury bedding and a kitchen that was a joy to cook in. We were only a short walk from the bustle of the royal mile but had the luxury of peace and quiet where the apartment is situated in Holyrood. Also the private underground parking is ideal and the concierge could not have been more helpfull upon arrival. Will definately return.

Great location - literally look out of the window into a Parliament window of Scottish Parliament. Apartment was spacious - there were 4 of us staying - two couples - there was ample room and great facilities - we stayed two nights for a weekend away - facilities all fine - One point - although it stated there would be a welcome basket - there wasn't anything - Including no toilet roll at all, not a shred - didn't think this was that great to be honest - but given there is a tesco two minutes up the road we weren't totally stranded - but worth noting other then a couple of tea bags and some odd sachets of sugar there was nothing in the kitchen that resembled a welcome basket - and in the bathrooms there were some little bottles of shampoo and conditioner but no soap and no shower gel and no toilet roll (ill move on from that now) -
Other than that - the apartment was just what we were looking for - good location good cost, modern and all in working order.

"A mark of for service as despite ours calls the person was not there to meet us so we had a small wait in a nice lobby. This happens if they get stuck in traffic from checking people into another property they have flats. So make sure you check they are not checking. In anybody else!"
