Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in a Premier Inn plus room. Very good size clean and comfortable. Lovely staff, breakfast nice. Very good location only few minutes to Waverley station. Value for money could not have been better! We will definitely be back again couldn't fault it.

Hotel's Favourite
Arriving by train, we found the hotel only a 5 minute walk away. After a quick computer checkin we found our room typical of most Premier Inns. The hair dryer, flat screen tv and powerful shower were most welcome. We heard no noise internally or from the outside road during our stay. The only complaint was the poor quality wifi although you can pay extra for high speed access. We chose not to eat at the hotel as there are dozens of excellent eateries for breakfast and dinner within 20 minutes walk - the best quality ones can be found in the New Town the other side of the station.

The location was the main reason for this booking but the hotel cost to value rating leaves a lot to be desired. The room windows don't open so there is not fresh air in the rooms, the smell of damp and musty was terrible. For the cost this had for two nights I would expect a better quality of room and bed would not stay again at this loaction

Excellent location for Waverley Station/Cab Rank/Royal Mile. Clean, modern, well run. Friendly, helpful staff. Just one warning. I book Premier Inns because they are consistent but here there was an over bath shower in the Premier Plus room whereas the last time I stayed in this room category at another location there was a walk-in shower. Walk in shower is obviously much better. Without one, I personally don't feel that this room category deserves its price premium over a standard room. If this also matters to you, I sugegst checking with hotel before booking as website isn't detailed enough.

Pros- Great location , very clean , friendly staff, luggage storage after check out, comfy beds and excellent bathroom Cons- Sadly the room temperature could not really be controlled by turning on the cooling so it was very hot and stuffy when you need to sleep and there is no window that can be opened for fresh air.... I noticed a woman checking out before me complaining of the same issue so it must be a general issue Also for some reason the smoke detector was placed directly above the bed and kept flashing bright green which kept catching my eye when i tried to go back to sleep after being restless with the room stuffiness If they could sort out the 2 cons it would be 5 star

I spent 3 happy nights here. The hotel is a 5 minute walk, and in an easy straight line, from the station. The room was clean and lovely, but the bed wasn't as soft as I remember it being. It also didn't have a chain on the door. Otherwise, I enjoyed the size and amenities of the room. Some chocolates and a 'hand written' welcome card on the bed was a nice touch. Though I didn't use it, the attached restaurant is a bonus.

The rooms are what you would expect from any modern hotel: comfortable, well-equipped and most importantly VERY CLEAN. The hotel's location is top notch, right next to the city centre but just far enough to escape the night time buzz. The staff was amazing they tried to accommodate to our needs whenever possible, and the food, while not Michelin star worthy was good. If we ever return to Edinburgh we will definitely want to stay again.
