Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was the venue for 4 days of classes. This place had the worst food I've ever eaten. The cost of this trip was quite high. I realize I was paying primarily for the classes, which were good, however, the experience of staying here was very frustrating. ALL meals were terrible. I would have enjoyed McDonalds more. Everyone was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food! I felt ripped off, to be totally frank.

The positive side is the building has tons of character and it is set in nice surroundings This was the second time I’ve stayed here each visit for 4 days Accommodation is on the same level as a hostel shared small beds singles My main issue this time was the quantity and the quality of the food It was truly appalling for adults to be offered such small disappointing Tasteless food Shameful on the new owners I wouldn’t return even if I was offered a free week I do hope this business can continue in the future as it’s such a beautiful home But you can’t treat paying guests like inmates of some young offenders institute And expect return visits

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this venue. The first time being last June. I will split this review into two parts but the rating is based on June 23. Last year the staff were fantastic, they were helpful and showed real Scottish hospitality. The food was plain but plentiful. Good standard at breakfast including breads, jams, cereal. Tasty lunches which included soup, baked potatoes including choices of fillings. Full salads which also included a selection of cold meats, pastas and cheeses. Dinner there were always 2 or 3 choices and in the evening we also had puddings. If I had given a rating last year they would have received 5 stars. Fast forward 1 year and 1 week. I returned again to the same event that I had been to last year. We arrived on the Sunday evening so after a welcome meeting by the host of the event that I was attending I went to my room for the night. Next day up for breakfast which was very basic. Yogurts, bread with jam and butter and if you were really lucky a boiled egg. I never managed to get an egg on the 4 days I had attended breakfast. Lunch. Feeding about 55 plus full grown adults there were 1 glass bow of the following items. Lettuce, cucumber, red onion, peppers, tomatoes and coleslaw. We were given a smaller than normal side plate for our salad to be served on. Again if you were not fast it was gone. We also had a pitiful portion of soup with a bread roll. The soup each day changed colour but was always the same tasteless small potion of awfulness. One day at lunchtime there was no salad and the soup was cold. I asked the man in charge of the kitchen if I could have some salad and his response was there was none left. I said I can see that could you put some more out please. His response was he struggled his shoulders and said there is nothing left to put out. I said I had had nothing to eat and he pointed to 2 dry rolls. Dinner. One option, no choice.Monday >> Lasagne and chips. Lasagne was made with the cheapest of ingredients and the grease was swimming on the plate. Tuesday >> Chicken curry with rice. One spoonful of rice (all the grains stuck together) and one spoonful of curry. Portion size for a 5 year old. Wednesday >> Macaroni cheese again one spoonful with a few chips. Thursday >> Chile and rice again a spoonful of each. I left this event early as I could not stay another night. I have not mentioned the event I was attending as this feedback is solely to do with the Venue itself. You have totally let yourself down here as we had international students here and they will be retuning home with the wrong impression of Scotland. Scotland is my home country and I was totally embarrassed by the food we served them. The lack of staff and hospitality. The young girls serving the food were only dishing out what they had been told. This review here is for the manager or lack of it. You have took a wee gem and destroyed it. WELL DONE !!!!! HOLD YOUR HEAD IN SHAME.

This place is lovely, the meals were great and the staff very helpful. They can do B&B but also full meals,as well as catering for other groups. Very near to Glasgow and Edinburgh and Stirling Castle is about 25mins away by car. Larbert train station is a couple of minutes by car or about 15mins walking if you don't want to take the car.

I used Carronvale for the first time this month to deliver a leadership development workshop. We did not use the accommodation as most of the rooms are designed for multiple guests as you might expect from a BB "camp". The conference facilities were entirely suitable and well equipped, the catering was excellent and the service impeccable. I have used very high-end hotels and conference centres and been less happy. The delegates all agreed. Thank you to Keith and the team for making it a success.

Was part of a local youth group residential staying for a couple of nights here. Carronvale House is quite simply amazing, cozy, functional and somewhere I would happily stay again. Upsides: Lots of space and function rooms, building is cozy, away from roads so is quiet both day and night, spacious rooms, very comfy beds. Downsides: WiFi is incredibly slow, slower than dialup, could do with more or plumper pillows on bed, some bathrooms need a fresh coat of paint, menu is very limited.

Stayed here with a church group recently and it was lovely. Staff were friendly and very accomodating. We had lots of fun in the sportshall, food was delicious and plentiful and meeting spaces were good.

Carronvale House is an excellent venue for Groups, being located between Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling and just off the motorway network. The house can accommodate 60 people in bedrooms ranging from 2 - 4 people. The staff are very helpful and if you have the House to yourself, then they are very flexible in meeting your timings for meals. The House has three large function rooms and several smaller seminar rooms which are available as part of the House hire, with wifi available in them (but not the bedrooms). There is also a large Sports Centre, with another seminar room, adjacent to the House and access is available as part of the House hire, along with use of the astroturf pitch to the rear of the House so plenty of indoor options for wet weather. Out front there is a putting green across the lawn. Car parking is available to the side of the house, with plenty spaces. Overall an excellent venue that is geared up to large groups.

We brought a group of 58 people to Carronvale House April 4-12, 2012. We cannot say enough about the facilities, the staff and the overall experience we had during our stay. First, we are a Rugby Club from Western New York, and the house allowed us all to stay under one roof. We had a parent/adult wing and then rooms for the boys who shared with 1-4 other boys depending on the room size. There are several function rooms all well equipped and spacious. The food was top notch, and very very accommodating to our timing, tastes and agenda. They even did a great Sunday roast for us! It's not often you get the chance to stay someplace this well suited to a group. The staff were all excellent and so friendly. For American groups wanting to tour Scotland, this is a venue you must explore. You will not be disappointed.
