What an amazing stay we had. Whilst this had all the things you would hope for in a farm stay, this trip exceeded all of our expectations. Firstly our contact with Katie was excellent. We’d originally booked for lambing season but due to lockdown had to reschedule. Katie kept us up to date and proactively let us know what measures were being taking to make our stay safe. We were then given exact information about what was in the huts. Such a simple thing but so often missed. We knew what to bring in the kitchen etc. and so avoided over packing.
The huts are done out to the highest standard- no stone left unturned. Everything it says on the website- fluffy towels, crisp bedding, beautiful interior, but also heaps of hot water, lots of sockets/charging points, home baked cake on arrival & such a warm welcome. We were welcome to be safely around the workings of the farm and to enjoy the animals. The two dogs were such a highlight for our kids as they played endlessly with them.
This is a gem of a bolt hole in a spectacular setting that I can’t recommend highly enough. Katie’s huts deserve to be booked out solidly but I hope it’s not as we can’t wait to return!

We stayed in the Lamb Lookout with our boys (7 & 4) and it was just perfect.
Homemade cake was delicious and a lovely personal touch. Breakfast basket was delivered on the first morning and more than enough to feed us over two mornings.
The hut was immaculately clean and had everything you would need for a family break, even the extending forks for toasting marshmallows over the fire (marshmallows are also provided).
Sitting outside taking in the views whilst watching our boys play and checking on the chickens was just perfect.
The boys really enjoyed the tour of the farm and meeting Katie and her family. Feeding the pigs, sitting in the tractor and walking in the field with the lambs they were in their element.
Already looking at booking for next year!!

We returned home from the most amazing weekend away last night. Craigduckie was everything we had hoped for and more. It is ultimately peace and relaxation with country views and beautiful scenery all around. Katie (Shepard huts owner) is so lovely, very chatty and the ultimate host. I honestly cannot fault anything about our weekend, the huts or our overall experience.
We booked Ewe View for 2-night which has 2 outside luxury bathtubs complete with string lights for the ultimate wow experience. We also bought the breakfast hamper and pancake pack, both amazing. So much food in the breakfast hamper, made even more awesome by being able to collect your own freshly laid eggs from your nearby hen coup. The huts are small as you would expect but have everything you need, they are very clean and fresh with lovely crisp white bed linen and lovely extras such as a welcome homemade cake!
Both our children had a fantastic time on the farm tour and was able to cuddle and bottle feed some lambs. The 2 farm dogs are super friendly as well as the farm black ram all of which my wee boy loved.
If you want to venture a 5 minute drive away we can recommend the nearly village park. But honestly you do not need to venture off the farm just remember to bring your sense of adventure and a phone/camera to capture all the wonderful memories. Go to Craigduckie, you will not be disappointed!
I’m having difficulty attaching photos to my review, but honestly once in a lifetime memories.

My wife, 2 sons and I had a great time staying at Craigduckie for 2 nights at the start of July. We stayed in Lamb Lookout while friends of ours stayed in Ewe View with their kids. We were amazed by the beauty of the location of the farm and also the quality of the interior inside each hut. Katie and her family were fantastic hosts, making sure we had everything we needed and also giving us a guided tour around the farm which our boys thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely recommend staying at the huts to anyone who enjoys some fresh air in a stunning and welcoming location, 10 minutes outside of Dunfermline.

I visited the shepherd's huts for a weekend break with 2 young children. Highly recommend this place!
From booking we were given lots of information about potential things we could visit and where is good for kids locally, information about what is included in the hut especially the kitchen items which is really good to know if planning to cook there.
The day of the trip we were also thoughtfully sent a video reminder of a link of how to find the huts which made the journey straightforward!
Upon arrival the hut was absolutely immaculate! So re-assuring during covid times. Interiors nicely done and matching features. Lots of homely touches. Beds comfortable, shower very good and hot! We found it very cosy in the summer.
When cooking in this kitchen you could forget you aren't in a country cottage! Very well stocked with essentials- tin foil and BBQ essentials.
A couple of garden toys had been left out for the children to play with, so thoughtful. Really good BBQ area and table for eating outside with perfect views.
The view is stunning and in the evening can be seen from the double bed you can look out over the loch view with a book and see the sunrise and set from the opposite side. Can see fields and farm animals, wildlife and lots of birds.
When Katie and her family passed by she would check we were okay and offered tips on nice local walks and to see their animals. She is very friendly, accommodating and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble.
The kids had an amazing time and haven't stopped talking about the hens outside which they could feed and collect eggs from. We found nice day trips not too far away because youngest is too wee to walk far but perhaps with older kids they would enjoy the walks surrounding. Lots of space for running about and feels very safe. Local park at townhill is really good for all ages 5 min drive.
For couples/solo travel its the perfect place for a quiet break.

We came here as a family in September for two nights to give the kids a treat after a hard 6 months of lockdown ,
The site is beautiful and the view was great the huts themselves are small but well thought out and have everything you need. Every detail had been taking care of including hot chocolate and marshmallows,
There was ample fire wood for the log burner (inside) and fire pit outside , we did most of our cooking over the fire pit which was great although the hut does has 2 hobs and a small oven, the kids love the dogs , pigs, sheep’s and chickens, and Katie Logan and lewis were more than happy to show us around. They checked in on us on a few occasions in the passing to ask us if there was anything we needed which was nice , the site is far off the main road although being 10 mins away from Dunfermline we felt miles away . We let the kids out to play without the worry of traffic etc,
I would definitely recommend a visit if a peaceful stay outdoors is what your after,

What a wonderful place to stay (I was nearby for work but it’s a very chilled and peaceful place to stay to unwind after the day) - a real treat, lovely rural location with loads of birds and farm animals, especially enjoyed watching the large flock of curlews and oyster catchers feeding in the fields. Really well appointed and thought out shepherds’ huts with everything you could need. The outside open fire pit which BBQ rack is wonderful. The wood burning stove inside creates a fabulously snug home and the family are so welcoming and helpful. I had some difficulties with my car and they went a lot more than the extra mile to help me get back on the road and get ahead of the oncoming snow. Perfect for one, couples and a family of 4 - you can experience the farm (lambing for me 😍) and feel truly welcome. Thank you Katie, Lewis and Logan - you made my stay so special. I would love to come again. I cannot recommend this magical place highly enough.

We were so lucky to get a last minute booking in this lovely place. The Hut(Ewe View) was beautiful. Fully kitted out with everything you would need for a quiet couple of days away. The beds were easy to put up, and very comfortable, and the hut was a perfect temperature, thanks to the log burner and built in heating. The shower was also great. The site is easy to find, yet you feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere as it was so peaceful. My daughter loved being able to check for eggs from the hens.I'd recommend the breakfast basket, and the homemade cake and flowers on arrival was a lovely welcoming touch. We can't wait to come back. Thanks for your hospitality Katy and family.

Our family, 2 adults, 2 children (8 & 4 years old) visited the shepherd's huts for 3 nights during October break. Ewe View was immaculate and beautifully laid out with a welcoming home baked cake and fresh flowers. Katie and her family were so accomidating, checking in on us when we arrived and bringing a breakfast basket our first morning. Katies homemade bread was to die for. The family let us be to relax for our stay but always at the end of the phone should we have any problems. The location was just spectacular with breath taking views. We cooked out by the fire pit and roasted the marshmallows left for us. Katie also kindly took us and the kids around the farm where we met her two dogs, chickens and chicks and the two pigs. I could not recommend a stay here enough. Nothing but perfect. Cannot thank you enough for such a magical stay where we really made the best family memories. We will for sure be back. Book now you will not regret it

We had a lovely one night break in Lamb Lookout with our two year old son. The hut is beautifully presented and maintained.
Katie & Mark are a lovely couple who are very welcoming and helpful. Katie kindly gave us a tour of the farm (and it’s John Deere) and allowed us to meet and help feed the newborn lambs. It was a lovely experience and one my son won’t forget.
We hope to make it an annual trip! Thanks Katie and Mark!
