Gave this restaurant a second chance yesterday. Our last visit had been very disappointing. The place was empty... and with good reason. I had the 'fresh' fish. It had no taste other than greasy batter. I doubt very much whether it was fresh. Being within half an hour of some of the best fishing villages in Scotland, we expect better...... More

Have recently attended 2 funeral teas here. On both occasions the sandwiches were stale, and on one occasion the cold meat on the sandwiches was rank and off. Yesterday I was charged £13.80 for 2 glasses of wine, I did question the amount. Absolutely ridiculous, it wasn't after all George street. Way to much for a mediocre small town pub.... More

Stayed at Laurel Bank ( now Drummonds Hotel ) fot 2 nights midweek . The room was very clean and spacious ( room 7 )., the food excellent and the staff were outstanding . Just one little point , it would be good if someone could answer the bell at reception even just to say we know you're there .... More

Actually the name has changed to 'Drummonds Hotel & Steakhouse' . Stayed here for three nights while on business. I normally like to try different places to eat while away, but after eating here on the first night, I found the food to be top class and the menu to be very varied, which I felt that I should work... Met up with friends who were staying at this hotel. Lounge bar was very busy but fortunate to find an empty table in the public bar. Although not as pleasant to look at the welcome and friendliness of both the staff and the other customers MORE than made up for it. We were staying at Balbirnie and the welcome wasn't... More

Had lunch here. We're localish from Kirkcaldy but were in the Markinch area so stopped in. Service was great. Young lass was friendly, quick, efficient and a lot of young catering staff could learn a lot from her. The Food was OK. I had Fish and Chips which was good. Fish was fresh, chips were nice. Salad came dressed which... More

About 1630hrs on 23rd august 2014 I attended the above premises accompanied by a number of friends, prior to a wedding function. On arrival we were sat within a small seated area however as more persons attended we required more seating. Not wushing to impose on bar staff some rearrangement of seating ensued however a make member of staff (... More

The room we stayed in was well equipped, clean and well presented. The bar and restaurant offer a large variety and are incredibly reasonable priced. Breakfast was delicious and substantial. Customer service was superb throughout our stay.

“Ask if there's a function planned during your stay, and if there is ask for a room away from the function suite (unless of course you're attending the function, which we were!). Our bedroom was directly above the function suite, but this obviously didn't bother us under the circumstances.”
