Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Just two rooms with big nicely furnished breakfast room complete with comfy Chesterfield's this was just the place after a day walking the coastal path. Billy and Jean could not have been more helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend the pub at Strathkinesse for dinner too.

This is undoubtedly an absolute gem! Set on a main road but blissfully quiet. Just two beautiful rooms, each with en-suite facilities. Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. Free parking. Price included full breakfast which was perfectly prepared and delicious. Hosts were lovely. This B&B represents very good value for money at £80 per night including breakfast. This is better than many of the hotels in St Andrews that are more than twice the price. There’s a pub about 3 minutes walk away that serves great food for an evening meal. Excellent option if you’re visiting St Andrews or the surrounding area. We’ll definitely be staying here in the future.

Can’t recommend highly enough! The accommodation is modern and spotlessly clean and breakfast excellent. Very convenient for St Andrew’s and Dundee. Parking and pretty view. Billy and Jean were welcoming helpful and made us feel at home. Will definitely stay again.

We are in St Andrews for a wedding and after rushing around running majorly late we turned up to shangri la to drop out bags off and hurry off to the venue. We were welcomed with a smile and in our panicky, rushed state they were nothing but helpful. As we got changed they rang us a cab and asked if there was anything they could help with, even to iron something for us! They went above and beyond to help us out. When we got back after, we were able to appreciate the lovely, quaint and clean room we had. We got a chance to see the owners in the morning and express our gratitude for their help. We stayed and chatted as they were so warm and lovely telling us all about St Andrews and where we should spend our day. I can’t express enough how their personalities only added to the wonderful B&B they own, I didn’t want to leave! I can’t recommend here enough and it would be perfect for anyone staying for a couple of days.

I was tired and have been poorly. I thought I would stay in a place near my workplace because I didn't have the energy to drive home so I found Shangri-la online and thought, this looks nice and it is near the St Michaels Inn where I can happily walk to have a meal. What I hadn't been prepared for was how absolutely lovely Shangri-la would be! It is great value and I hadn't been expecting more than a good rest and at least some sleep. As I parked at the rear in the pretty garden, with open aspects and French doors I thought thjs is pleasant. Then the owner was a kind, caring lady. The room is gorgeous and the cooked breakfast delicious, perfectly cooked. I can't fault anything. It js modern and located near a good place to eat and I can't wait to return. Book accommodation earkg if you can as there are only a couple of rooms. Thank you to the super owner for enabling me to leave feeling like I was floating on air having had a gorgeous stay after I had dragged myself in the night before.

Jean and her husband were so warm, friendly and welcoming. The rooms were impeccable, good facilities, lovely bed linen. We had a great full Scottish breakfast the next morning looking over the fields to the back of the house. We stopped here with my brother who was looking round St. Andrew's university the next day. If he chooses to go there this will surely be our place to stop again! We would highly recommend. Thanks guys!

I stayed here just for the one night. I arrived earlier than expected yet the lady was very warm and welcoming and my room was ready. The room was lovely, had everything I needed and was very clean (and I'm very fussy!) despite being along a main road it was lovely and quiet and I had a fab night's sleep. Breakfast table was set for me when I got up and I chose the full Scottish breakfast and it was amazing. 😁 The service provided by both owners was top notch. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very friendly and polite. I highly recommend this place and would definately stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay. 😁

We stayed here from our trip south for a family wedding. As we were travelling from Orkney, and would arrive earlier than the usual check in time, we asked if it would be ok to arrive that early - Jean was happy to have us early, and Billy made us very welcome when we arrived. The room was spacious, spotless, and the location was excellent for getting ready for the wedding in St Andrews. Billy's directions to the venue were spot on, and after the festivities, and returning our son to Dundee (again, minutes away), we sank into the super king size bed for one of the best nights sleep I've had in a long time. Wouldn't hesitate to go back - the accommodation was super, the hosts were delightful and the breakfast was just perfect. Oh, and there's a Tazmanian Eucalyptus tree in the back garden :-)
