Where do I start! this establishment well deserves its fantastic reputation. They really are taking the Covid 19 infection risk very seriously. At all times we felt very comfortable with their levels of hygiene. We stayed there for nine nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Food in the bar remains excellent value for money and well presented. iI you are visiting St Andrews dont wast your money anywhere else this Hotel has it all, great location, great food and great staff. What more could you want.

We stayed here after being upgraded from the Cleveden hotel.
We received a warm welcome from all of the staff and was quickly shown to our room.
The room was spacious and clean. The shower and bathroom was great with a powerful rain double shower.
The hotel is literally around the corner from the old course so perfect location for any avid golfers.

The staff were really attentive and breakfast was also nice.

It was a little noisy on the evening but with the room situated above the bar, this is to be expected.
Hairdryer / fan provided as well.
Would definitely stay again if we were to return to st Andrew's.

We were fortunate enough to visit the Dunvegan whilst in St Andrews playing golf. From the minute we stepped inside we were made to feel so welcome. The atmosphere, the beer and food were great but what made it special was that the staff made us feel like we were home. They took the time to talk to us, and as visitors to the town we were treated like locals. When we went in for the second night we were greeted by name and they even remembered what our drink order was.

There are not enough superlatives to compliment the team. Well done Luke, Lindsay and Catherine you are a credit to the Dunvegan and you made us want to come back next time we’re in St Andrews

We booked the Cleveden House but due to corona (to have only one location open) we were asked to stay in the Dunvegan Hotel. Before making a decision I wanted to see our room in the Cleveden House. The room which was shown to us was very small: the kingsize bed occupied almost the entire room. So we agreed on staying in the Dunvegan Hotel. Our room was spacious, but no atmosphere at all. It had 2 queensize beds, but no wardrobe. I'm wondering why not a kingsize bed and a wardrobe instead? The bathroom was very basic.
The hotel was quite noisy late in the evening, early night as well in the hallway (guests) as outside (loud chatting employees of the hotel).
Breakfast was very nice with great service (the waitress had lots of humor).
It has been told before in previous reviews: this is a typical hotel for male golfers together on a trip.

Was in the Dunvegan bar tonight with my son and friend on a golf trip . As the night went on the bar filled with American students and that’s fine . But we were asked twice by different people both young American females if we would be leaving soon as they wanted our seats . We were not in a rush to leave as we had been enjoying a few beers and watching the golf on tv . But they were trying to muscle in to our space basically which was quite annoying as most of them either had no drinks or had one drink that lasted for hours it seemed . Great bar with a lot of golf history but will not be rushing back Im afraid due to the clientele . If you want to sit with a glass of melting ice playing snap stay in your dorms or common rooms please and don’t annoy the paying customers .

The location is perfect for walking Saint Andrews. The hotel is very quaint, and the staff is very accommodating. We went in February and the bar is busy. On season I imagine it is quite full.
We had a double room which was very comfortable and bigger than I imagined for a UK boutique hotel. Very clean and had everything we needed.
our room overlooked the alley where the beer kegs are delivered so we had some noise after the bar closed and when delivery was made but the personnel responsible were not talking or making any unnecessary noises other than what needs to be done to run the establishment. I only mention it because if you are a light sleeper or have issues falling back to sleep room 3 is not for you. I appreciated the fact that business was handled smoothly. We loved our room!
It is at the bottom of the hill closest to the Old Course and so near great restaurants and Market Street and the beach!!!

I visited the popular Dunvegan bar which is always a good atmosphere with golfers from all over the world.
The food is good and a good selection of beers, however the Gents toilet is an utter disgrace and really needs to have a refurbishment. Today the floor was covered in Urine, the hand dryer was not working and they had a nerve to hang a small hand towel over the tap for all to use if they wished to.
When you consider the amount of Gents who frequent this bar, surely it would be worth investing in a clean hygienic toilet !

It’s been a few years since we were here and I understand under new ownership. Great location and good service - however food is overpriced and poor quality. Breakfast they did not have all the ingredients to offer a Full Scottish Breakfast - seems the Food element of the business needs better staff 🤔

Small pub with great bartenders and servers. Tons of photos of past PGA golfers on the wall and ceiling. Very good food and excellent service. We had a large group and the staff took good care of us.

Visited here for a drink only, as heard it had a great atmosphere. We sat outside initially until it started to rain. What a disappointment inside , it wasn’t too busy which meant you could see the the place needs a freshen up and a good clean. The staff were unfriendly and looked bored, despite some tables needing cleared. Probably if it had been busy we wouldn’t have noticed any of this. We couldn’t wait to leave.

Hi, I stayed at the Clevedon House when my wife and I were at St. Andrews. I had a twisted knee at the time, so had to be content with watching the duffers Tee off. The hotel likely does provide this service for guests, so it's worth a shot. We had an excellent stay there incidentally. Try the porridge! Best I have ever had! Ian Mitchell
