This was a visit to the spa facilities, the for coffee in the bar area. The spa has improved in cleanliness and equipment service significantly since last time I was there. Machines and all areas regularly cleaned, better quality towels available, more staff available. My only criticisms would be pool bookings and lockers. Pool bookings not checked, leading to some overcrowding, and a faulty locker system that required at least three lockers to be opened by staff while I was there. Regarding coffee, exceptional service and facilities. The staff member on duty (Niamh?) was professional, welcoming and efficient, coping with multiple orders and ensuring a relaxing experience.

The hotel on arrival is stunning, however, we ate at the clubhouse which came to just short of £300 and I became unwell quite quickly after eating there. The room was very dated and not clean at all and we have images of the lamp in the room being smashed and no one had fixed it. This is supposed to be a five star resort and it was absolutely no where close to even 3 stars in my opinion. The bathroom mirrors had white stuff dripping all over them and looked like it had not been cleaned in a week. The room had spiders in it and the carpet looked like instead of being hoovered it had just been brushed with a large pile of dirt gathered at the door. It is a shame because on paper the hotel looks good however we were supposed to be securing a date to get married here next year and the stay has completely put me off even using it as a venue. We travelled two hours to the resort to celebrate a birthday and to have a wedding show around and it just is no where near how they make it out to be online. I think considering the rate of a room per night, to then find a smashed lamp and dirty mirrors and carpets etc just is not good enough. I wouldn’t recommend it at all to anyone I have stayed in nicer hotels in Glasgow. Another thing is there seemed to be genuine “adults” with their kids running along the hotel playing chap door runaway and this went on to the early hours in the morning which was not ideal as myself and my partner could not sleep for hours due to this. If it’s a five star resort it should be clean and it should be attracting five star people.

First visit to Fairmont St Andrews and can’t wait to return. My husband and I were treated with first class service from start to finish. martin checked us in, so polite and extremely professional. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay so pleasurable. The food was exceptional, we ate at La Cucina on the first night and had a balcony table, food and service was first class, the second night we ate at the clubhouse again beautiful food and lovely waiting staff, big shout out to Carly for recommending fantastic cocktails 🍸 such a lovely girl with a smile to light up a room😊 Truly wonderful experience and we are already talking about our next stay. Visited the spa today. The facility was spectacular, the sights, smells and atmosphere all top class. My therapist Sarah was attentive and friendly. The meal in the bar restaurant also was sublime. Worth every minute spent there. All staff were excellent.

We booked an overnight during the February mid term holidays and had an amazing time. Firstly there were brilliant free workshops and activities put on for kids and we were able to book these for before we checked in and after we checked out. So when we arrived we enjoyed cookie making and the swimming pool with the kids before we had even checked in, then it was off to the cinema and kids lounge - which has a soft play installation and is littered with free arcades and Xboxes. Dinner at the Italian restaurant was superb and the kids got a three course meal for just £13 each. The next morning we went down for breakfast and checked out, before returning to the pool for a couple of hours and finishing our stay with a pizza making workshop - which was another highlight! I’ve been raving about it since and the kids are telling me that we have to stay for longer next year- I agree.

Was treated by my wife to 2 nights at the fairmont for my birthday last weekend (15th-17th) and had an amazing stay. All staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to help (special shout out to Mark and Harry, Front of house staff) Hotel is beautiful and a fantastic location with superb views. Food and drinks are more expensive but its a 5* hotel so you go expecting to pay more for these onsite. 2nd night meal in the clubhouse was miles better than the in-house Italian we had on the first night which we were disappointed by. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice available. The only downside was the amount of kids running around screaming and shouting without supervision from adults which is not the hotels fault and it was mid term break. All in all we will be back, just have to make sure there is no school holidays next time 😄👍😊

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent birthday stay at Fairmont St Andrews. We are thrilled to hear that you had a fantastic stay and that our staff, particularly Mark and Harry, provided excellent service. We will make sure to pass on your kind words to them. We are glad that you enjoyed the beautiful hotel and its superb views. As a 5-star hotel, we strive to provide a luxurious experience, and we appreciate your understanding regarding the pricing of food and drinks onsite. We apologise for any disappointment you experienced with the in-house Italian restaurant on your first night. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will take it into account as we continually strive to improve our dining options. We understand that the presence of unsupervised children running around and making noise can be disruptive. While it is not within our control, we appreciate your understanding of the situation during the mid-term break. Thank you for choosing Fairmont St Andrews for your birthday celebration, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Check in experience was a disaster but they made amends with some complementaries and paid taxis to St Andrews. Lovely rooms , and staff on the whole were very helpful and accommodating. Price of drink was way over the top- poor. Didn’t experience dining in so can’t comment on food but found the breakfast first class. Apart from the check in fiasco( 4pm- why so late??) it’s a lovely hotel in a lovely spot.

We stayed at the Fairmont for a couple of days during the Feb mid term break. We’ve stayed a few times before but this was the first time since covid. Our experience of check in was very good - quick, friendly and informative. We arrived early and our room was ready for us which was a nice surprise. We had lunch in the main bar area followed by a swim (which we had booked the day before). The food and drink was very pricey - £23 for a cheeseburger and £8.50 for a pint of shandy and that’s before you add a gratuity! We had ended up eating in St Andrews in the evening. There is a courtesy minibus but you have to book in advance and unfortunately it was full when we tried to go. The bedroom was nice a spacious with a very nice bathroom. The furniture was somewhat tired but otherwise the room was good. Sports bar was great. The kids enjoyed playing pool and using the simulator. Decent breakfast in the morning too. Overall it’s a good family hotel and the staff are very attentive but it is very expensive - think Gleneagles prices for food and drink.

Having stayed in many 5 star hotels, we had high hopes for this stay, however we were very disappointed. Check in was a bit of a pain, arrived at 3pm and we were told the 2 rooms we booked were not ready, fair enough, we were told they would be ready soon and we would get a phone call. We had swimming booked for 4pm so went back at 3:50pm to be told only 1 room was ready. Annoying but not the end of the world. We asked to then change the swimming time to allow us to get checked in completely, were told this couldn’t be changed. So only half the party went swimming. Eventually got our room, only to discover one bed, when there was myself, husband and daughter staying. Back to reception, waited quite some time in the queue again to ask for the additional bed to be put in. It took 4 times asking for the bed to eventually appear at 8pm. Simply not good enough. Drinks in the bar are expensive for what they are. Ended up ordering and paying for a round of drinks, one drink missed and then told another wasn’t available. Asked for it to be refunded as had paid, girl looked blank as to what to do. Whilst not huge issues, they were enough to cause frustration and when only staying one night, I spent most of my night chasing a bed. Tea and coffee limited in the room as well. Presumed ours was missed as the additional room we had for my parents was well stocked. Breakfast was lovely, as was the pool.

Hotel itself is lovely, receptionist was very helpful. However there are no adult only areas and lots of children running around shouting screaming and with no adult supervision. The Zephyr sports bar had a group of children within playing with no adult supervision which spoiled any relaxation. Their parents eventually came to check on them but left 5 mins later leaving them again to be noisy. Not fair for the bar staff or other guests. The room we were in was lovely and the separate bath and shower were an added bonus. However there was limited coffee/tea making facilities and no clearly visible price list for the mini bar.
