This was my first visit to Lorimer Hotel and it wont be my last. There were 3 of us who went up to play golf over 4 days. The owners were really flexible regarding our requirements and nothing was to much for them. There are racks to keep our clubs in overnight so you knew they would be safe and if the weather was bad then they would dry out by the morning. The breakfast options were excellent with various choices, I had the full Scottish breakfast every morning during my stay and can fully recommend it. Scott is a very good golfer and he was always interested in how we got on each day. (it was not just a place for golfers as there were people staying when we were there doing sightseeing as well) I wish them all the best for the future and keep up the hard work and quality service you provide to your customers. With the current virus issues then face masks were always worn by the owners and sanitizing was carried out regularly, so felt very safe throughout my stay. Also seating for breakfast complied to the correct regulations on safe distancing

My first time staying at Lorimer House and i was thoroughly impressed. The location is a 2min walk to the Scores and 5mins from everything else worth seeing in the area. There was plenty free on street parking was ideal for me.
I was initially apprehensive as this was my first holiday since the pandemic but the owners always kept their masks on, plenty hand sanitizer around and the breakfast room was arranged to meet the current regulations for social distancing. I became very much at ease in no time.
The room was great, with all the amenities and a fantastic shower.
One of the highlights of my stay was the full scottish breakfast. Some of the best damn bacon ive had in a long time and i believe it is locally sourced.
I couldnt say enough about the owner Scott. He was very friendly, accommodating and approachable with good local knowledge on things to see and do in the area.
I'll definitely be back soon.

Our stay at the Lorimer House in August 2020 was perfect for us. The owner of the house, Scott, is a perfect host in regards to hospitality, services, and fair prices. Scott pays attention to detail and is always more the ready to help in any way he can. Second time staying at the Lorimer house which is now my home away from home when in St Andrews.

Note to Trip Advisor: It is really a shame that negative reviews are still visible which are all from the time of the previous owners (dating as far back to 2012). It would be nice if when a new owner takes over he/she could start with a “clean slate”.

Excellent location, very comfortable room with fantastic shower. Host Scott was very friendly and helpful the attention to detail in the guesthouse was fantastic as being a golfer they have lots of memorabilia on the walls. Would highly recommend getting breakfast as it was great and better than anything we had in the town. We will definitely be going back for another stay in the future!

Stayed 3 nights while on a golfing trip with friends , Scott was a fantastic host who provided excellent local knowledge , golfing insight ( Scott is a local lad and a very good golfer ) and a fantastic breakfast! Rooms are modern and very clean. Only 5 minutes walk from the Old Course and town centre. This is the perfect place to stay if like us your on a golfing break but also for anyone else just visiting the area. Highly recommended and hopefully we will visit again soon.

We were a party of 8 on a pilgrimage to St Andrews to play the Old and the New courses . Scott Finlay was extremely helpful in the research process and was an excellent host during our three night stay . The guest house was perfect . Central location for easy access to the golf courses, restaurants and the legendary Dunvegan pub ! The rooms were great and the breakfasts cooked by Scott were the perfect start to the day .Facilities included storage for golf clubs and we were able to park on the street without any difficulty .The Lorimer is the perfect base for any visitors to the town .
We will return . Thanks a million Scott

This guest house is ideally situated in central St Andrews and a stroll to the Old Course. Scott made us very welcome. We had De Luxe room on top floor which was spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was cooked to our taste, fresh and delicious. Covid restrictions adhered to at all times. Short stroll to restaurants, bars and cafes. Scott could not do enough for us. We will definitely return soon. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Peter & Irene

This was a really great place to stay.
It is very centrally located, just off one of the main three streets, a few minutes' walk to the central University buildings, and about 10 minutes' walk from the North Haugh buildings. The room (a standard doyble en-suite room) was excellent, very nicely decorated and maintained; very comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities. The breakfast was great, and I would particularly recommend the pancakes with bacon. Scott (the owner) was incredibly accommodating and helpful.

Would definitely recommend.

The Lorimer House was an outstanding choice by our group of 8 golfers in our visit to St. Andrews. Scott was a tremendous help prior to going with all of the covid hoops we had to jump through. He was also able to secure Old course tee times for the whole group of 8, making it much easier than trying to secure through the daily ballet. Once we arrived, Scott (our host) took care of us, securing dinner reservations, dealing with the airlines to get one of our guys lost golf clubs delivered, setting up caddies for our group, and serving our breakfast in the morning, changing his time to meet our needs. The rooms were roomy by European standards and updated. We were walking distance to the courses and dinner every night. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Scott helped make our stay truly amazing. I can't wait to go again.

We had originally planned a golf trip to St Andrews for summer 2020. We then had to reschedule to 2021, then to 2022. Three years after first booking w/ Lorimer House we finally arrived! Scott was wonderful with all the rescheduling due to Covid travel restrictions. When we met him it felt like meeting an old friend.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the perfect start to the day, and the guest lounge a great place to have a drink in the evening before strolling to the many pubs and restaurants nearby. For a wonderful Indian meal go to Jahanagir!

Scott was a wonderful host and as part of our package had arranged tee times at the Old Course and the Castle Course. The men had a tremendous golf experience and the ladies enjoyed shopping in St Andrews. We would absolutely recommend Lorimer House for an outstanding St Andrews trip.
