We stayed for 3 nights. The rooms are comfortable, clean, large, warm and well equipped. The welcome and hospitality was excellent and our checkin/out was so fast and efficient. Food is excellent (particularly the breakfast) large portions and good value for money. There is a huge selection of beers in the bar and staff are very friendly and helpful. As... More

Another return visit to Greyfriars didn't disappoint us. As always the Fish and Chips were first class and plentiful. If your really, really hungry try the large portion. The restaurant was very busy and noisy but service quick and waitress pleasant and helpful.

Must have been a busy weekend as we're sold out of many salmon dishes and Cullen skink. Service was great but the coffee, Americana was the absolute worst I think I have ever had. Really need to upgrade the coffee quality selection instead of the stuff your grandmother buys at the discount supermarket!

Friendly and comfortable pub/restaurant. Great location for shops and golf alike. We visit St Andrews often and always eat and drink at the Greyfriars. Would certainly recommend it. Have stayed in it too and again very comfortable. Room was very spacious and clean.

We had a very friendly welcome and introduction into the layout of the city. The room was of a good size, well-equipped, clean and comfortable; the bathroom did let it down a bit - the grouting needed cleaning with a toothbrush and the ceiling was flaking badly. We ate at the hotel on the first evening - the staff were... More

Stayed for a few nights and thought the hotel was great! Staff were friendly and helpful. Only ate breakfast here but it offered a good selection. Room 213 is very nice! Take ear plugs as St Andrews can be noisy!

We visited on a busy Sunday evening (freshers' week) for dinner and we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Food was very good "pub grub" and service was prompt and attentive. We were entirely satisfied all round and the biggest endorsement I can give is to say we will return!

We arrived before our 10:30 tee time on the New Course and wanted to get some questions answered before we golfed. We went into the bar, which doubles as the front desk and met the attendant, a gruff and slight sour gentleman. Our questions were hesitantly answered after he put it in

This is a type of hotel with rooms above a pub, nice clean rooms not flash but clean apart from in room 212 dirty mould on the shower tiles, you need to bring your own soap as they only offer shower gel, breakfast nothing special but o.k would help if the girls serving smiled a bit more
