Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An overnight trip from two in this stunning hotel in the centre of Glasgow. Staff were very helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived at the steps to enter. Suite was great and spacious. Restaurant staff were all great and attentive. Very friendly, welcoming and warming. Outstanding! Spa was also great with a large selection of treatments available. Thank you, we loved our stay

Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I could not believe just how fabulous this hotel was! From the second we got to the door we had the warmest welcome with a complimentary glass of wine whilst we checked in and a lovely gentleman took our bags to our room. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly and so helpful. The atmosphere was wonderful and the grandeur decor was stunning, I especially loved the sweeping staircase and adorned walls with artwork and the stunning chandelier to set it all off. Due to my husbands status with this hotel group we were upgraded to one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. The bathroom was stunning as was the room itself. Unfortunately we had arranged to go out with friends for the evening or we would have happily spent our evening in the hotel bar area. I had the best sleep in the most comfortable bed. In the morning I had booked a treatment at the spa. Despite the main spa being refurbished I really enjoyed the garden spa in its simplicity. The staff were again wonderful and friendly. I had the garden spa to myself (maybe because it was first thing on Sunday morning) I opted for a deep tissue massage which was out of this world and spent the next hour in the relaxation room sipping lemon and ginger tea… simply bliss! Cannot thank the staff enough for making the experience so special for us from start to finish and we cannot wait to go back.

Overnight stay to celebrate my 40th birthday and also had my weeks old daughter with us. Just perfect as always, this hotel never disappoints. Room was decorated with balloons and banners which was a nice touch....thanks Chuck your skills are on point!!!! Also had a cake left due to being a club member. Huge bath which looked onto bedroom, comfy bed and usual nespresso machine. Booked for Ishga Sound Bath Massage with Kim which was out of this world. 1.5 hours of bliss and one of, if not, the best massage I've ever had (and ive had a lot) Bar busy and ate takeaway in room due to having mini terror with us. Forgot a few things and hotel sorted out quickly... Nothing is ever an issue. Better half used spa in morning and enjoyed it, not too busy. 2pm check out which gave us a lazy morning.... Breakfast great as per with lots of options and great service. We love this hotel. Unpretentious and just fab. Only thing i would say is as a new mum i found the lack of pram/disabled access a bit annoying but plenty of staff around to help. Room also bit chilly but again it is an old building and portable heater provided. Recommend x a million

Friend bought me a voucher direct from hotel as gift for a spa experience. Hotel contacted me evening before to cancel, seaweed shortage which you’d think they’d know sooner. I’d gotten the day off work especially which I couldn’t cancel as I work in healthcare on an appointment basis myself. Tried to rearrange giving plenty dates, spa manager did not read email properly and said first listed date unavailable, could I suggest others which I already had if she’d read a bit further. I’ve been perfectly polite and now not even getting a response. Tried using hotel contact form too, nothing. Now my friend has tried calling numerous times and send a message. This is NOT a 5 star service, far far from it. Even if we do get rebooked, I’m not even sure I want to go anymore based on initial experience or give them my hard earned cash. Shambolic!

We purchased weekend hotel stay as a gift for family. Was meant to meet with family staying there for a quick visit for a few minutes just to drop off a card for them, Arranged to meet in lounge, Was just my daughter and I waiting quietly in lounge area, I did not think this was a problem, Two rude members of staff then approached us and asked if we were a guest here and started questioning us about why we were here, I explained I was meeting with family just to drop a card off, They were on there way from a restaurant. They then told us we had to leave and wait outside, Gave us an excuse about having VIP's here sometimes. Demanded to know room number and name of family members, Gave fake name as I was worried my family would have been asked to leave the hotel. This hotel wasn't cheap that we had purchased, My family weren't pleased either, I feel we weren't bothering anyone sitting quiet in a corner. We were all completely taken a back by this, As we felt we had been doing no harm, Only going to be there for a few minutes to drop off a card. Never been kicked out of a hotel in my life or anywhere for that matter. At the time I was shocked but now I've had time to reflect I'm actually very annoyed about it. My advice if your not a VIP guest, If your just a regular guest I would avoid this place, Don't pay high prices for that rudeness. Can honestly say I've never encountered such rudeness from staff in my entire life.

Pretty poor excuse for a never in a million years 5 star hotel. Room was freezing- and I mean freezing to the extent I had to use the extra electric heater hidden in bedroom wardrobe from when I checked in until checking out and it never made much of a difference, I also used the dressing gown over me in bed as it was so cold. I phoned reception to address this- never sorted and again mentioned this on check out but fell on deaf ears- receptionist looked more interested in the reserve football team standing in the lobby. Room was very poorly lit. Cheap bathroom ammenties. Bathroom like a dark cold cave- not even a basic vanity light mirror?! Shower only rainfall no hand held. Would never stay here again- ever. At best a 3 star hotel. How they advertise as a 5 is laughable and fairly concerning… Bedroom floor and chair/ couch stained and looked dirty. Flimsy cheap hotel room keys, like a cardboard child’s toy. Not even a bar of soap in the bathroom. Beyond shocking for the price. Never had time to experience the spa facilities as it’s a very short time window for hotel guests which is beyond odd.. when competing with the likes of Gleneagles and Trump Turnberry which are completely worthy of their 5 star accolades then I am afraid blythswood sq hotel is out of its depth.

Just stayed in Blythwood and can honestly say it was exceptional. Room was lovely, comfy bed, lovely bedding, bathroom beautiful. Absolutely loved the spa. It was immaculate and loved that it had 2 saunas, big jacuzzi, hot pool, snow shower, salt room. Breakfast was great, decor was stunning. Had a meal in the restaurant, bit pricey but food was very good, gave us prosecco as it was our anniversary. Love the wee touches like free wine in the lobby, can borrow accessories etc. staff all wonderful. Will be back, thanks.

Went there as part of the monte carlo classique entourage and expected something special to eat at the price, £48 for a steak. What came was barely as good as a weatherspoons steak and smaller with a pathetically tasteless, watery sauce. Had to go find a takeaway immediately after to fill me up, extremely disappointed!!!
