Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our short stay was very relaxing and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We had checked in online and had even been offered the opportunity for a very reasonable room upgrade which was available to us on arrival. As was free glasses of Champagne and drinks. The latter included in their eco cleaning package. Our suite had a mezzanine level and a separate living room and bathroom. Water was available at the bedside and the usual products in the well appointed bathroom. A coffee machine and chocolates were also on hand. The room was well decorated but fixtures and fittings were now a little tired looking and could do with spruce up and some items deep cleaned. We used the bar and restaurant. Again the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The meal was lovely and very good value. Well stocked bar. Drinks accompanied by nibbles etc. We had an early check out and had previously asked for a taxi. Which arrived on time as promised. The reception staff even prepared us a quick coffee etc as we leaving prior to breakfast. Which was a nice gesture and very much appreciated. All in all we had a lovely time and would return if ever in Glasgow again. Be aware though that at the moment there is building work to apartments adjacent to the Hotel. This is obviously not the Hotels fault but the work and associated noise does start early in the morning and into the evening. Some lovely quirky touches in the Hotel and atmospheric restaurant.

Our travel agent picked this for us for a short break to coincide with a concert, check in was fine until we were informed our room was two tier beds upstairs and bathroom downstairs not ideal for a fee we got one on a level, We went to the show returning at 10.50 to be advised that the bar was shutting at 11.00 and we would have to sit in the reception lobby, no a welcome place. You would think a hotel of this standard would extend closing for another hour, previous reviews have mentioned this but the reply is so pathetically negative you can tell nothing will happen EVER!!! If you are a social animal just don’t bother booking. Eating in the breakfast room is so dark you will need a torch to read the menu. Food is good, bar dull Good luck

M partner and I stayed here for 1 night on the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rate in a club room and absolutely loved every min. The room we were allocated was beautifully decorated creating this gothic charm we both really liked- especially the big bed with fun head board. There was a great coffee machine with Ferrero Rocher chocolates which , as a huge coffee drinker, my partner made great use of. The bathroom was beautiful as well and, as someone who works in social policy covering things like period poverty, I was so pleased to see the complimentary period products! The wee soaps and vanity kit etc were all really lovely. And we made use of the comfy robes which were in the room too. The dinner was exceptional. 3 courses and 1 cocktail included in the rate and was one of the best meals I've ever had. Service was great, food amazing and cocktail delicious. Dining area was so beautiful as well with lots of wee touches like the lovely candles. We honestly couldn't have faulted the stay. An absolute bargain at £75 per person for a midweek stay. The dinner alone was worth that! Would stay again 100%.

A theatre night away with my wife. We decided to stay at this wonderful hotel. Can't find anything to fault it. Lovely room, huge bed, and friendly staff. We also had dinner in the restaurant, which had a special menu deal. The food was really good, and the price was very reasonable. We will certainly be back when we next book a theatre night away!

A wonderful stay in the heart of Glasgow. Hayden and Megan on reception were lovely and gave such a warm welcome. Breakfast in Chez Mal was also very tasty. The room was very spacious and the bed incredibly comfortable, and the shower is so relaxing.

A wonderful hotel for a short break. Extremely warm welcome and assistance from the young man in reception. A comfortable room, with an excellent bed and bathroom facilities. Enjoyed two breakfasts and one evening meal in Chez Mal. Having visited 3 other Malmaison restaurants, Glasgow has been the best yet. Wonderful service from Jolo, Alex Jenny and the duty managers at breakfast and dinner who took an interest in our satisfaction. The breakfast was exceptional, with good quality buffet and continental options, including porridge, cereal, yoghurt, fruit salad, pastries and plentiful cooked options - the highlight being salmon accompanied by the best-scrambled eggs it is possible to enjoy. I hope the outstanding service is a reflection of how the hotel treats its staff and that their efforts are appreciated by the management. Add a friendly and lively bar and an excellent location to explore Glasgow and you have the perfect venue and base to explore Glasgow with all its attractions. We enjoyed a weekend package offer and this was outstanding value.

After checking into ANOTHER hotel nearby, we were horrified by the condition and facilities in that hotel. We immediately looked for another hotel and my wife found this nearby, they had availability and it was cheaper than what we had already paid. We checked in with a warm welcome and were given our room, the room was perfect and clean, we sat and had some drinks in the bar before heading out for the evening. On our return we had a couple of night caps in the bar and made our way to our room. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great sleep. Up and showered with a fabulous hot shower, we made our way down to breakfast Our breakfast was a great mix of continental and cooked … all tasted delicious We checked out after a perfect nights stay Highly recommend.

Hotel doesn’t live up to the hype on the website. Woodwork in the room had been recently painted and still smelt when entering. Windows were locked which wasn’t great. Bathroom was tired - needed a thorough clean round the edges of the floor. Empty fridge. Dry biscuits and coffee bags which I don’t think had ever seen a coffee bean. Bed was comfortable though.
