Normally I'm more of a budget hotel type but a special friend talked me into staying here as a treat. The room was absolutely sensational. 6th floor 1br suite. Ultra comfortable and they had put out some prosecco and treats as they knew it was a celebration for my 50th. We had exec lounge access and happy hour there every night was fantastic. The staff in the lounge and restaurant were great. The lounge changed food offerings each night but I did feel a little more variety at breakfast in the restaurant would be a good thing. Marvellous location and I really enjoyed my stay.…
Attended my brother’s wedding reception and what a great place. Lovely modern lobby leading into the Grand Ballroom. This was elegantly set and decorated and capacity was for 400. Dj played into the night whilst we enjoyed a fantastic North Indian feast. Staff were excellent and this is a great venue for a party of this size!!…
Hilton branded hotels in the UK tend be poor run down affairs however with regard to The Doubletree’s I have found them to be consistently very good. Glasgow Central is another example of a very good Doubletree. We had no complaints. Hotel was full due to a Wedding but there were no signs of the event nor any pressure on the waiting staff at a very busy breakfast (excellent choices). The executive lounge (and staff) were an excellent example. Centrally located. 10 mins walk to most things. We’d stay again. …
First of all let me admit we are Lifetime Diamond so we have are usually treated well. That being said, that also means we have stayed in hundreds and hundreds of Hilton properties. This hotel was excellent. We were give and excellent room, not a suite, but very big and sufficient for our needs. The executive lounge was excellent with a great staff and new renovated and big enough. The restaurant was very good. I love Haddock and Chip and i would match theirs with anybody in Glasgow and they will win. The only complaint was from my native born Glaswegian wife of 52 years who did not like the potatoe scones at breakfast. She claims that are not to be deep fried but grill or done in a skillet. Which by the way she told them on our third day and the specially fixed hers in a skillet. Very nice of them and showed customer service. The front desk forgot to send my laundry out and I though that would be a problem. But Mr. Callum the night porter took it upon himself to launder and iron my clothes, Cannot as for more than that. That man is a jewel and I hop appreciated by management. He understand customer service. We have stayed in every Hilton property in the Glasgow area multiple time we have been married 52 year and make yearly trips back to Glasgow. The Double Tree is head and shoulder above all the other properties.…
we were three people but in the room there were just two towels. i phoned the reception desk and since after 1:45h the third towel hadn’t arrived i phoned them again. still nothing. The third person had to dry herself with the hand towel. There was no response through the careline. When we left the room we met the cleaning lady who told us she didn’t get our request. Only when we came back from dinner the towel was provided. There were teamaker and cups in the closet but again just for two people. The breakfast is just okay. The pastries that were supposed to be crunchy were soft, and the cheese and the cakes which were supposed to be soft were dry and hard. given the size of the hotel the bathroom is too small.…
