Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Typically nice crowne plaza with a very pleasant check in experience,, super helpful and polite. The hotel is clean and tidy ,.rooms were nice and spacious... Pools looked good didn't use itm the gym is very small but has what you need.. My only gripe is the price of the food in the bar area was rather costly for what was basically cheap pub food.

I booked this hotel as I got a really good deal and glad I did. It was my partners birthday and they asked his name, we found out why on arrival. We had been sent an email prior to staying to see if we wanted to upgrade to a larger room and the VIP lounge. It was an offer I couldn't refuse made the birthday even better. Staff were amazing on arrival and we had also been upgraded again with another room. The room was huge and the view was amazing. My partner received a hand written card and some chocolates. (Lovely surprise). We had access to the VIP lounge with soft drinks hot drinks fruit and snacks. Then at 5pm there is wine and lager and warm and cold food. All was lovely, we also had a mining bat in our room which was part of the upgrade. We didn't use the spa facilities ( we will next time) The bed is huge and so comfortable. Robes and slippers to add. Slept well, we had booked a late check out and did put a do not disturb on the door but did get a knock at around 11.30. ( we did advise reception on leaving) It didn't spoil our stay. Room was a bit dusty a better check over would be good. The choice for breakfast was amazing with hot and cold options, continental and all you could eat. It was all delicious. No complaints at all with the food. We will be back again and enjoy the spa facilities. A memorable stay.

We booked the executive suite expecting a premium experience, but unfortunately, we were disappointed on multiple fronts. Firstly, the minibar lacked a bottle opener, and the room was missing basic amenities like bathrobes and slippers. The Sky TV didn't work, and the toilet had flushing issues. The room felt outdated, and the pillows left us with sore necks. Additionally, we were surprised to be charged £10 for parking. During our meal, my gourmet burger tasted terrible, prompting me to push it aside after just one bite. Unfortunately, my wife's chicken dish made her ill the next morning. Even the prosecco tasted cheap, so we refrained from drinking it. The overall dining experience left much to be desired, and we couldn't even enjoy what was being served. To add to our disappointment, the lifts were out of order. After paying £260 for a subpar experience, we decided to cancel all future bookings with the establishment. It's disheartening to see a place we once loved decline so significantly.

Just back from another great stay at the crowne plaza. This is about the 5/6th time that we have stayed here and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Glasgow! Lovely hotel with great amenities (top notch bar/restaurant, pool and spa) and great staff that can't do enough for you. Hope to be back for another stay soon.

Stayed Saturday 7/4 and had a great time. The staff are up there with the best we’ve come across. Ewan in reception worth a special mention. We’d arrived for an overnight a few weeks earlier but had to leave suddenly due to a family emergency. The team were brilliant and helped us in the day and let us use the booking another time thus the return visit. Ewan remembered us and was so thoughtful in checking we’re we’re ok with perfect approach and consideration - he checked us in both times and is a credit to the hotel. One-bedroom suite was great - spacious and spotless and amazing views. Breakfast was brilliant. Used the spa, excellent massages and very friendly staff and manager Sam. Had pizza from room service too which was lovely. From 3 available lifts, 2 were out of order which caused a lot of frustration from guests - and impacted the room service timescale which took about 40 minutes. Staff lifts had big queues too. Used the pool, nice temperature and quiet enough but have to say the changing area needs a bit of TLC. Also no costume wringer or even bags to put wet stuff in. All in all a great night made special by the team from start to finish. I do agree with other review though that a refurbishment is long due.

I took my niece as a treat to stay for a night, requesting an accessible room and got a complimentary carers room which was absolutely perfect! Rooms were amazing and just what we needed. Upon arriving we were advised that only one of the lifts were working so we were to use staff lifts if needed, this caused quite alot of issues through the weekend as at times the floors were blocked by linens and not passable with a wheelchair. So had to just go back down wait or move stuff etc. In the evening we were unable to eat in the restaurant so we ordered food in the bar due to it being busy, we had a pizza, burger and a bottle of Prosecco which came to £69. The pizza was most definitely microwaved and it was soggy and inedible. Also had a hair on it. The burger was cold. Neither of us ate the food so had no food in the evening. We were on our way to a show so we just advised the bar staff it was unacceptable and she just apologised. Again staff lovely all friendly and place was very busy, but the Crowne plaza has an expectation and the food was not under this and did not meet any of those. Reception staff helped with some issues we had and were beyond friendly and helpful and cannot fault them for their care and service. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. It’s a shame if booking an accessible room you cannot reserve a disabled parking space as these are getting used by people that don’t need them. My niece drove and we had to use a standard space, so unable to get back in her car in the morning. Luckily the person came back pretty soon and we were able to leave. The receptionist explained the car parking issue, however when it comes to disabled parking , this can cause real issues for hotel residents in wheelchairs. In all we cannot fault service from staff and rooms for us were perfect but as stands unfortunately we wouldn’t come back due to food and lifts. Hopefully things change 😊

We do NOT recommend hiring the Crowne Plaza for your event. We hired the Argyle suite for my brothers wedding registry & reception last year and it was our biggest regret. Before I list all the problems we encountered, please be advised that we took our issues up with the venue at great length straight after the function via Aleksandra, Drew and then eventually another senior member of staff who couldn’t be bothered getting back to us, despite chasing. This is testament to their lack of customer service skills. So before you part with your hard earned money please have a read at the following. Quite a few issues but named the main ones: 1. LACK OF SUPPORT PRE EVENT: You would think having spent a large amount of money on hiring the largest suite at the Crowne Plaza would mean you would have someone on hand to help with any issues we may have during set up. This was not the case. The illusive Events Manager was just too busy dealing with smaller conferences that were taking place upstairs, to even come and introduce himself to us nor help. When we finally tracked him down his attitude was foul, clearly very stressed and not a people person. The fact that a venue such as the Crowne Plaza left the responsibility on one man to cover multiple events is poor practice. 2. DISORGANISED CHAOS: Tables incorrectly set up despite plans provided and agreed in advance with the Crowne plaza events team. There were extra tables where there shouldn’t be and a mish mash of different sized tables too so nothing matched or was symmetrical! This meant another supplier was left to lift, move, find and carry tables outwith their remit. This also massively contributed to the delay in set up. 3. ACCESS: Despite advising the Crowne Plaza in advance that the wedding cake would be arriving the morning of the event, they decided to keep the main doors locked which prevented the cake company from gaining direct access to the hall. It took multiple trips over to reception asking them to open the doors as it was raining too, to be told that they couldn’t leave reception to do so but will try and track someone on the events team. They were unable to track their own illusive colleague on the events team, so they eventually relented and opened the doors 45minutes after the cake arrived! 4. ACCESS pt2: it was also agreed in advance that the bridal party would have a room upstairs to get ready in, as well as a couple of other rooms for the entertainment to get ready in and family. These rooms were not unlocked so the bride and her large family had to ask reception to unlock these doors. This too didn’t happen. It took my brother, the groom, to go to reception again to ask this to be done asap! 5. RED CARPET: we were advised in advance that we would be able to have a red carpet in the foyer. This was no where to be seen, so the wedding party had to go search for it, found in a cupboard behind one of the bars, which took 3 of our guests to carry out, only to find it didn’t fit in the space! 6. DIRTY: the events team were also made aware in advance that I would be setting up some bits in the foyer which would require a certain amount of tables. The tables were there but they were absolutely filthy! Covered in sticky stuff from the previous nights event. And a lot of the tables had stains all over them too. So fair to assume that they hadn’t even bothered cleaning between events. I was left having to get paper towels and hand wash from the bathroom to wipe them down (as much as possible). I eventually managed to track down a cleaner and asked if they could give the tables a proper wipe. The cleaner huffed, cleaned just the one table and walked off! 7. CONTRACT FARCE & POTENTIAL DATA BREACH: Despite the fact that the Crowne Plaza took payment directly from my parents and emails frequently sent between us and them, with our caterer cc’d in, their contract for the event was apparently under the name of a random company and person who we had no affiliation with! What a joke and quite frankly worrisome that they may have been sharing our personal information with said company.

Wow ! I don’t even know how to start this review other than a massive hats off to Mohammed on reception. Impeccable customer service from the minute we stepped in the door. Greeted us and asked how our day was going, sorted out trouble i had with a voucher and answered the phone promptly when we had a slight issue with something. Beds are so so comfy and rooms are clean. Only issue was there was a few flies but i understand it can be due to air vents so it’s not the fault of the venue. Lovely lovely meal! We ordered a few starters and one main to the room. Room service said it would be a bit of a wait. The food was up and served in less than 15 minutes and every single thing was fresh. We absolutely devoured it ! Upon checking out the girl at the front desk( didn’t catch her name) was also really pleasant to deal with. We forgot a phone charger as well in the room and came back 2 hours later where they had bagged it up for us. Most places would’ve binned it !! The staff were the most kindest i’ve dealt with in a long time and made the stay absolutely perfect even if it was only one night. They gave us all the information we needed. And the 24hr parking being only £10 was an absolute steal ! We checked out then walked over to the science centre.

Overpriced for a dated hotel. Lounge access not worth the extra money. Tiny room, no food and kids allowed in. Two other couples left as well as room were playing eyespy!!!! Not an experience we expect. Comfy beds but will not be returning and questioning if a Crowne Plaza is for us. Much prefer Hilton Hotels . On the upside, we did get 24 hours parking waived after complaining at check out.

Had another comfortable stay for 1 night while attending concert at the hydro. Check in was efficient and friendly, everything explained very good. Room was clean and tidy and no faults there. Breakfast was vastly improved from our last visit, had a cooked breakfast and everything tasted good this time around. Would stay again as very handy for attending concerts at hydro plus the bonus of car parking which is chargeable but didn’t mind.
