Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked a short two night break in an executive room 1104. Room was fabulous, comfortable and spotless. Had breakfasts in the hotel. plenty of choice and good quality. Made use of the gym and pool facilities and both very good. Spent a couple of hours each evening in the executive lounge, special thanks to Sarah the hostess for all her hard work, making sure everyone was catered for with drinks / food if required. Would definately recommend this hotel to friends etc.

The front desk was very helpful. The person who checked us in walked out of the hotel with us to show us the walking route to our restaurant destination. The lounge was clean and well stocked. The breakfast buffet was large and tasty. The room was as expected.

We stayed overnight in Nov 2023 at the Glasgow Marriott. After dropping our bags off, we went out immediately to meet friends and returned around midnight. The room seemed hot, very hot. I turned the aircon up full and tried to go to sleep. By 4 am it was clear that neither of us were going to get to sleep, so we called down to the night porter to see if they could do anything. The person quickly came to the conclusion that the aircon was not working at all. She produce a fan and left. We turned on the fan and it rattled so loudly that we had to call the porter again. She then started to look for an alternative room on the same floor, but the only free one with 'working' aircon (get that, the only one!) was as so noisy that we could hear it from our room. She then produced 2 more fans and left. The fans didn't have much effect. When I left I complained at the checkout desk, only to be told that because I had booked with via a 3rd party, nothing' could be done by Marriott. We then had a 200 mile trip with no sleep. Go somewhere else.

We stayed on the 28th October, reception area nice and staff very pleasant, £12 for car parking, another route for places to get money off people, our room might have suited an elderly couple, very dated furniture, lumpy mattress and one of my pet hates, a shower curtain. Wi-fi was apparently £15 but not 100% but certainly wasn't free, this might get answered in a management response.TV wasn't very responsive and froze or switched off a few times, at £131 for B&B I expected a lot better from a supposed high rated hotel chain, a fridge would have been nice, Motel One booked for December at £79, on the plus side we enjoyed our breakfast.

Dear Sneddy69, Thank you for sharing your experience while staying with us. I am happy to hear that you were satisfied with the reception area and the service received at reception as well as the breakfast. However, I am also sorry to hear that your experience of the car park, the rooms and bathrooms and its facilities did not meet your expectations. I would also like to inform you that wifi is either £9.99 or £12.49 for enhanced wifi. Apart from that, I would also like to let you know that we are in the process of finalizing a refurbishment plan for the hotel and I am sure that this will enhance our overall guest experience and resolve the issues you experienced. We hope to welcome you back soon to provide you with a more memorable stay. Best regards, Franziska

Stayed here on a recommendation from a fellow colleague, on arrival I was told that I had been upgraded, happy days, on the 12th floor, so made my way in to room 1202, after a wee night out for dinner and drinks I returned to the room, the noise of the boiler on top of the roof was directly above my so called "upgraded room", after calling the concierge at midnight the night porter knew exactly what I was talking about, many complaints before, finally got to sleep but again at 4am the boiler fired up and a squealing noise coming from it. Never in my life have I stayed in such a poor room. I will not return to this hotel.

Good all round hotel fairly central to town centre. Good Facilities, Freindly staff. Car parking good. Book well in advance. Close to motorways. Good for moving to other places around the area. Rooms are sacioys and clean and modern in most instances. Food and breakfast is good.

This is your typical downtown Marriott Hotel. It has plenty of accommodations for business meetings. And it's in an area downtown where it's somewhat isolated. Our check in was quick and easy. Our room was mostly as expected, except for finding a USB outlet. You would expect them to be plentiful. I finally found one on the baseboard, under the desk. That's ridiculous! The bed was comfortable. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. There was a coffee pot. The bathroom was adequate size. It took a big step to get into the bathtub/shower combo. I'm 6 ft and my head only cleared the ceiling by about an inch. The restaurant was a bit expensive. Our waitress didn't seem happy that we wanted to order from the bar menu. But, the food was good. Breakfast was ample, a buffet style meal. Overall, by business hotel standards, it was average

Staff were very accommodating to me turning up early to store my bags and advised that if I wished they would try and find an available room prior to the 3pm check in time. Room was very spacious. I ordered room service and the food was lovely. Breakfast was also great, a good selection of foods being replenished often. Air conditioning unit was very loud so had to be turned off. A function to cast to the TV would have been useful or a smart tv option.

Was going to cancel based on the volume of recent poor reviews but booking was non-refundable so had to go ahead. All things considered I’m glad we went ahead. Yes, in places the hotel needs a lick of paint and refreshed, but food was good, facilities were adequate and most importantly the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and attentive. We had a great stay. It’s a little bit of a walk into town but we also wanted to visit the science museum so location was perfect for us.
