Travelodge Glasgow Central is often celebrated for its prime location and the warm, accommodating staff that contribute to a comfortable stay. While the rooms are recognized for their cleanliness, some guests have expressed a desire for more contemporary amenities and have noted issues with room maintenance and size.
Although the hotel's ambiance is generally appreciated, the dated decor has not gone unnoticed. Guests frequently mention the disturbance from noise, and opinions on the value for money vary, with some finding it reasonable and others not as convinced.

Detailed Reviews
Just had a 5 night break here. The room we had was facing the front of the hotel and we found it to be fairly quiet on the whole. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was very good. We had a problem with the soap dispenser not working but after contacting reception, they were very prompt to come and have a look at it and left us some liquid soap by the sink as they were unable to repair the dispenser. We booked the unlimited breakfast at the time of booking the room. Excellent choice at breakfast of fruit, cereal, yoghurts, cooked breakfast items, croissants, bagels and sliced bread. The staff were very efficient during breakfast at making sure all breakfast items were topped up regularly and clearing away empty plates etc too. We would definitely stay here again.

Really good location close to the city. Basic rooms typical of Travelodge but has everything you need - comfortable bed and hot water. WiFi only 30 mins free per day if doing work. My sheets or towels weren’t changed once in the whole 4 nights I stayed however, and I had to go to reception on the final day to ask for new towels.

Clean and tidy hotel and room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good value and choices of cereals, granola, fresh fruit, hot breakfast items, croissants, toast, bagels…orange juice a little bland but hot drinks are fine. Hotel, when we stayed, was quiet and we had no problem getting a breakfast table. A couple of times we had a drink from the bar. It was a bit chilly in the dining room depending on your table. The rooms had really good heating ( controls for your own choices) Water in the bathroom was hot. Clean towels and bedding. The rooms are now in need of some TLC as decor and room facilities ( no power near bed) could do with updating. A hairdryer was available from reception. We often stay in Travelodge Hotels as 4 solo travellers in 4 rooms the price is usually quite good. The hotel is fairly central with a short walk to the Buchanan shopping area, the bus station and George’s Square.

I booked two nights for 2 people each, with small lunches that were charged separately. I had to change one of the bookings for one person, but the p.a. amount was not returned to me even in exchange for a drink at the bar or another.
I was very badly impressed, because it was not the first time I chose this network, but I will think twice if in the future I will repeat. I will ⁇ not advise third parties.

Between noisy guests slamming doors after midnight and being able to hear ever word of their conversations as if they where having them in my own room and the cleaners making a racket with the trolleys at 7am onwards both mornings it was difficult to get a peaceful nights sleep. Most hotels you do expect to hear somethings, the noise will never be completely away but this was beyond ridiculous. The room it’s self is what you expect from an older travelodge, hotel could be doing with updating the rooms but if like me you wanted somewhere to just get a sleep at night while visiting family then it would’ve been fine had it not been for the fact the sound proofing is shocking. I hear less noise at home in my bedroom living with folk than I did both nights I stayed here. I can still hear the cups clattering about on the cleaners trolley at 8am. My partner was very close to going to reception to complain as we’d hardly slept from the noise throughout the night. Won’t be back to this travelodge.

Just stayed 4 nights at the biggest s***hole in Glasgow in what was supposedly a family room No 509 (3 males attending the open golf) The room itself was the size of a cupboard which had never been decorated for at least 20 years (do not believe the pictures they post) the wardrobe was a hole in the wall with 4 hangers, two of the beds were camp beds accessible through a 12 inch gap. Sleep was almost impossible due to a noisy air conditioning unit droning all night. Entry to the bathroom was by reverse gear only. You could sit on the toilet (with broken seat), have a shower (water which trickled out of the head) and clean your teeth at the same time!!!! The housekeeping was zero had to ask at reception for clean towels. The floor was littered with peanuts when we arrived. As one would expect we complained each night we arrived back to whom we assumed to be the night porter a slovenly dressed individual whose only job seemed to be to cadge cigarettes and assured us our complaints were being logged as the manager was only there while we were at the golf (fair enough) Imagine our dismay when we checked out the duty manager on duty had no record of our complaints. So as the title suggests do not go near this place!!!!
PS. The new government could solve its immigration crisis by putting these individuals up at this hotel. And finally as one could imagine none of us 3 will ever set foot in a Travelodge hotel again.

Basic, no frills hotel stay. Staff were friendly. The room was clean but definitely needs better maintenance - things look like they’re falling apart. Rust, mold and ripped furniture were prevalent in the room.
Breakfast was okay - lots of options, quality was alright and hit the spot. Kids under 16 are free with a paying adult for breakfast which is a great deal.
We paid for early check in and was allowed check in on arrival at 9:30 am as room was available.
Could do with some upkeep but overall was okay for the weekend in Glasgow

People arrived at 2am and woke us up, then more people arrived at 3.30am and lingered outside our door chatting and laughing and generally being noisy.
The room smelled of a dirty wash cloth as if it had been washed with a smelly cloth.
The room was dark and in desperate need or a refurb. The hotel generally was in very bad repair. There was a dirty nappy in the corridor and a piece of bacon in the lift. The toilet was cracked.
I know Travelodge is basic and we are happy with that. But one night cost us over £200 and that is far too expensive for the quality of the room and the hotel generally.
This branch is in desperate need of renovation, or the price should be reduced to reflect the experience of staying there.
I should add that the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. But the condition of the hotel is terrible.

Enjoyed a midweek break in Glasgow and this hotel is ideal as not quiet in thick of city but walking distance to main high street.
Hotel dated but clean, tidy, and warm. Staff were welcoming and quickly sorted an error I had made with my room booking.
Rooms clean and fresh, plenty of towels.
Reception area hosted a fully stocked bar, coffee area and dining for breakfast and evening meal.
Breakfast was hot and fresh, kept stocked and good value for money. Was well looked after by Rachel & Goscha 😀😀

We only booked our night in Glasgow approximately 3 weeks in advance and a lot of my first choice hotels were fully booked, it seems it was graduation weekend for some colleges/universities.
The hotel was easy to find using google, and if you use the Cambridge road car park just over the road, they validate your parking so you get a discount.
Positives:
Staff were friendly and polite
The room was clean
The location is handy for hopping on the open top bus tour as there are 2 stops on the main road around the corner.
Walking into the centre (George square) was quite quick and easy as it was downhill.
Negatives:
The walls are paper thin. People’s alarms started going off from 5am and they were so clear I actually thought it was my own alarm a couple of times. If someone is running water upstairs, you hear it, and you can hear doors open and close constantly.
The breakfast was very average, the scrambled eggs were bought out as I stood there and were still cold. Definitely not worth the £8.99 (there are a couple of cafes round the corner, go there, recommend Bucket List).
We got there an hour and a half early but they said an early check in would be an extra £10 (though clearly the rooms were ready or we wouldn’t have been offered the option). Felt s bit like Ryanair where they’ll charge for any extra they can.
One of the 2 lifts broke whilst we were there.
As a budget hotel, it’s ok, but take earplugs!
