I stayed overnight on 16th may 2022. The hotel was very cold in the lounge area, the girl at reception was not probably trained , I asked her if I could speak to the head chef her reply yes . the chef did not come because she did not have a clue. I got my dinner in the evening soup fish and chips the soup was lentil it was thick as anything my batter fish and chips which I got was nothing short of a dam disgrace , my French Fries were hard that u could not eat and for the fish it was uneatable as I could not put my fork in to the batter. And for my breakfast I got orange juice which I can't describe because it was dreadful the worst orange juice I have had in any of hotels that I have stayed in. The management of this hotel told me what I received from the kitchen that's how we cook the fish Please avoid this hotel and save your cash.…
Top tip: book direct on the hotel website as it’s cheaper than booking.com and breakfast is included. We stayed here for one night before a wedding and it’s really close to Glasgow, with the benefit of free onsite parking. We stayed in a ‘garden room’ which was spacious and had lots of storage space, Tv, charger points for tech, tea and coffee facilities and a really good bathroom with a double sized shower. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast, both of which were plentiful and good quality. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
We had the most wonderful wedding day at Sherbrooke Castle Hotel and could not recommend the location, staff and whole experience higher! William and Claire from the events team were so helpful and organised in the months leading up to our big day. Nothing ever felt like a stress at all and all our wishes were accommodated. On the day itself, we had our ceremony in the beautiful orangery to the side of the main hotel which was such a perfect romantic setting with plenty space for over 120 guests. Sherbrooke's Piper piped guests in and really contributed to the unique quality of a good Scottish wedding! The drinks reception and canapés followed. We had so many friends and family comment on how tasty the canapés were, especially the mini beef wellingtons which went down particularly well! We were busy getting photos, which so far look beautiful with the castle and gardens a wonderful setting to remember forever. A nice touch was that William organised for us to have some alone time after official photos were taken in our hotel room to relax and enjoy reflecting on the day so far. After that the day continued with delicious food in the beautifully decorated main room and then dancing. Throughout the day staff were so friendly and always checked in that we were having a good day with time to relax. We slept very well in the honeymoon suite and I look forward to staying there again in future :) Thank you to William, Claire and all the Sherbrooke staff for making our day so special!…
Sherbrooke Castle was the perfect venue for our son’s wedding on May 1st - such a beautiful setting for everyone to relax, enjoy and celebrate. The new “orangery” is Impressive and so well suited for the wedding ceremony. We were impressed with every member of staff- they were incredibly professional, efficient and attentive. We spoke to William (one of the coordinators) a lot on the day. He was brilliant and very attentive to everyone’s needs. There were lots of very thoughtful touches throughout the day eg giving the bride and groom a bit of quiet time with a drink and snacks before the reception started (which we know they really appreciated). There were quite a few young children at the wedding who were catered for incredibly well and given plenty of attention! The food was excellent with a choice for guests which impressed us. Food was well presented, served at a perfect pace and staff kept checking to see that everyone was happy. We stayed overnight as guests in a beautiful Junior Suite, had a great night’s sleep and a very relaxing and enjoyable breakfast. We really couldn’t fault Sherbrooke Castle and all the staff - 5 stars in every respect. It was a perfect and memorable day. Thank you.…
Sherbrooke was just perfect for my daughters wedding on April 15th.The most beautiful venue.Everything from beginning to end was just so special. They pulled out all the stops to make sure everything was perfect. The rooms, the food, staff were all first class and we couldn’t have wished for anything else. All our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the wedding and how great the staff were..Top marks to the wedding coordinators and all the staff ,thank you! We shall definitely return
We've just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel. We were due to visit last September for 2 nights but I broke my leg 3 days before. Although the reservation was non refundable the hotel allowed us to use the payment for a future date to which we added another night. We also stayed in a junior suite, room 6, which is at the front of the hotel in the left hand turret. This area provides a nice area to sit with 2 comfortable chairs and a table with tea and coffee. as you entered the room there is a corridor leading to the bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Just off the corridor is a walk in wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers and a small fridge. there was a door into the bedroom with a large and comfortable bed. To get to the first floor there is an impressive staircase splitting left and right. Evening meals are served in a dining room off the bar. We intended to just eat the first night after a 6 hour journey but ate every night as the food was so good. About 5 mins walk from the hotel is the train station with 1 stop taking you into Glasgow central station. £3.20 return each. Much better than driving in , finding and paying for a car park. After a hearty Scottish Breakfast we didn't eat until the evening meal. It was easy to get onto the motorway system and get north to Loch Lomond and Sterling Castle which is well worth a visit.…
The hotel is absolutely beautiful with a nice bar and restaurant. We stayed in one of the Junior Suites which was very spacious, clean and well appointed. Breakfast and dinner were faultless on both days! The staff, above everything, made this a really enjoyable experience. We will undoubtedly be back!
Stayed for 5 nights in February, full of character and charm, we stayed in room 3 and was worth the extra cost for a suite, food was excellent- had the 3 course special for Valentine's and it was perfect, but by far the best thing about this place is the staff - so friendly and helpful, from the waiting and bar staff (Very patient)! To the housekeeping team (room was lovely and clean) the staff were a credit to this hotel and we received a true Scottish welcome - we will definitely return, worth every penny
We booked the junior suite which was well worth it. We stayed in the castle itself and the room was very large and comfortable. Very comfortable bed and a bath tub to die for. Tea / coffee/ hot chocolate facilities in the room along with a caramel bar. Robes and slippers provided as well as toiletries, hair dryer, ironing board etc. The staff were amazing, very friendly , can’t do enough for you. The breakfast is continental but they also give you a menu for a cooked breakfast too. All the food was delicious ! We did have dinner there one evening as well. It is expensive but worth the money , definitely fine dining but also some of the most delicious food I’ve ever eaten. Definitely treat yourself at least once to dinner there if you can afford to! Also ordered a cocktail but it was a very small drink and at £9 I didn’t think it was worth buying another. We also pre booked an afternoon tea which was amazing , I would recommend that too. You won’t need dinner afterwards, we were stuffed ! Very memorable and enjoyable experience.…
first of all, the staff at the Sherbrooke were brilliant, especially the dinner staff who were chatty, kind, attentive and great with kids. the food was brilliant, i couldn't fault it! dinner and breakfast was super tasty and both had a large menu to choose from. for dinner, i had a haggis parcel with whisky sauce which was beyond delicious... followed by monkfish which was also great, followed by a delicious chocolate mousse dessert. we went for the dinner bed and breakfast option which was great value for money. the bar staff were great as they made us any cocktails we asked for! for breakfast, there was continental and apple, orange and cranberry juice, as well as cooked breakfast. i had smoked salmon and scrambled egg on sourdough which was lovely! i was disappointed that there was no haggis on the 'full Scottish breakfast' though. The hotel did not have a family room, so we were split into 2 rooms, I was put in the hotel itself and it was lovely, just like a fairytale castle... however, the rest of my family was put in a "cottage" which was a dark, dull, outdated outbuilding in the car park which looked like a toilet block, or staff accommodation, or a storage facility. certainly not what we were hoping for a 50th birthday present, that room was very disappointing and is the only reason that we would not return to Sherbrooke, incase we were put into that room again. As it was in the car park, my family had to walk round the back of the hotel for breakfast and dinner, which was inconvenient how there was no back door, but also it was noisy with cars.…
