Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped in for a drink whilst we waited for our train at Queen Street. The bar girl was lovely and offered to make mocktails for our tween/ teen daughters, which they were delighted with. Then some tipsy, privileged women appeared and finding the bar maid temporarily absent, opened the bar gate and started helping themselves to wine from the bar. Mark, the receptionist came over and quite understandably refused to serve 'Elaine' and her friend ( I feel the name Karen is apt, tho my kids thought she strongly resemble Kathy from 2 doors down fame 🤣) and oh my goodness they gave him an entirely undeserved and beyond his pay grade hard time. I'm not sure how this incident ended but FTR Mark and the bar girl did everything within their power to stop the -Karen's' self entitlement before we left and I'm only writing this review to big up their professionalism when faced with drunk, entitled and entirely undeserving patrons!

The location of this hotel on St George's Square is excellent and I had a comfortable stay. I'd say the hotel is a little dated and slightly faded, although you can see that it would have been stunning in its hey day. My room was large and had lots of character. But the soundproofing wasn't great and I felt it could do with a refurb. Breakfast was good with a cold buffet and hot food cooked separately to order.

Arrived extremely early on Friday morning, (23/02/24) expecting to leave our luggage while we wandered around a damp Glasgow. However Mark made our day by saying we could check in as our room was ready!!A speedy & friendly welcome to the hotel was delightful. We weren’t lucky enough to have a room with a view, but our room (401) though compact was perfect. The bed very comfortable, room temp perfect & generous sized bath towels. No shortage of hot water either any time. And very peaceful!!! No noise disturbances from either the station, traffic or other guests. The hotel is so central to everything!! We used the AirPort Express bus £32 for two trips for two of us. Drop off & pickup beside the hotel, two different stops though so check with reception. The train station right next door as well, plus a taxi rank outside the door .We didn’t eat in the hotel but we had a drink there Friday night & im sorry I didn’t get the staff members’ name but she was a real character!! Great at her job. Plenty of pubs, restaurants etc in walking distance. This hotel is great value & ticks all my boxes!! Highly recommend.

Booked for an overnight birthday trip. £153 for 2 including breakfast. Room 205. What id pay for this hotel based on what it has to offer is £80 tops. Severely dated rooms. 2/3 plug sockets didn’t work. So woke up with mobile charge depleted. The side lights didn’t work. The fridge had disappeared. Bed was comfy, room was warm and clean. Staff were attentive apart from check in where I was part checked in the lady then left me to help another lady complaining about her room not having windows and wanted moved. She was being attended to by someone, however it would have been fitting to deal with me first and then help the other. I said I hope my room has windows. She said it does but I had to sort her out as she had booked an executive room not standard like I have ! It was substandard at a premium price. The breakfast was plentiful but the cooked breakfast was cold. This hotel is very dated now, its situated in the heart of Glasgow so location is about as good as it gets for me, the rest I’m afraid falls sort of the pricing. The key code for the ground floor rest rooms is an annoyance!

Excellent service, such friendly and attentive staff the whole visit. Special shout out to Shalom who was so welcoming at check in, went over and above call of duty to help us have a comfortable stay. Breakfast was really fresh too and again staff amazing, helped my daughter make fresh pancakes and let me have my breakfast whilst it was still hot. Hot food made to order. Hotel spotless. Great views over George square. Very cosy rooms with v comfortable beds. Can’t fault the hotel and negative reviews totally unjust! Well done and thank you to all the staff. Fiona Kelly

I always thought the millennium hotel was a prestigious one…. That is not the case. Very very dated room and public spaces. Broken lift too. The bathroom in the room was the most dated of all. Looks like it hadn’t been touched since the mid 90s. Grubby shower curtain, tiles looked like a patchwork quilt. The radiator wouldn’t turn off so was a sweat box! There was a hole in the wall hidden by a chair, and the bed was really small. Hardly suitable for 2 people. Staff were pleasant all the same.

Stayed November 12th for 1 night , Hotel is in a very good location - central to everything , the lady on reception Sunday lunchtime was very friendly on arrival- room was a good size and clean - tea/coffee facilities available , the bathroom was average size - well stocked with toiletries - bathroom was clean but needed some decorating re paint touch ups etc, - only complaint i would have is that the bed was not very comfortable- over all not a bad experience- good value for money with a good central location.

Although the staff were very friendly, there was not enough of them, the hotel was not serving food and this was not made clear at the time of the booking. This is a hotel that has charged £175 a night for my two night stay and ‘sub-par’ doesn’t quite cover it. My recommendation is avoid as you are being fleeced…….in Scotland it’s all fur coat and no knickers

Right in the heart of Glasgow, looking onto George Square, it’s location is excellent. Staff very friendly and room was large and warm. Breakfast was a little disappointing- hot food items didn’t look appealing and the service of these was slow. Overall though a nice hotel which I would stay in again.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions but I would never go back again, the hotel is in need of much TLC. The room wasn’t very clean, the radiator in the bathroom was very rusty and the toilet seat desperately needs replaced. The room is very small, much smaller than any of the rooms I have previously stayed in. You entered the room and you could not get to the other side without moving the very worn chair that was at the end of the bed and in front of the chest of drawers. To get in and out of the wardrobe, you had to move the chair. We did complain at reception and the member of staff I spoke to was simply not interested. Offered to upgrade us for £20 per night but given I had already paid over £100 a night for the room I simply was not prepared to pay anymore. On day 2 of our stay we could not use our room cards and had to go to reception. The female that we spoke to was very rude and implied that we had demagnetised the card. I explained that my wallet was protected by RIFD and would not have been demagnetised, to which she very rudely told us well that was what the computer was telling her. I have never been spoken to like that by a member of staff. I didn’t even receive an apology for the inconvenience. I wish had read the reviews before booking this hotel, but as I had previously stayed there I thought the hotel was good and paid more than I would normally but wanted to treat my wife for her anniversary. Reading the other reviews i am not alone in thinking this hotel is downtrodden. I did email Millennium and a week later I am still awaiting a reply.
