Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were in Glasgow when there was something major going on and most of the hotels were fully booked and I was struggling to find somewhere to stay. Called Queens Park and the guy who answered the phone was really helpful and took the booking. We arrived and managed to find parking ok, there is a park nearby and it's a short walk to a nice Indian restaurant where we had dinner. The room was clean but basic (we were only there to sleep and then off again the next morning). In the morning there was cereal, juice and milk outside the room for us, a lovely touch. There is also a kettle, tea coffee, etc in the room.

Located in what appears to be a rough area of town. Website states they have free parking but in reality there is no parking included with the hotel it is at your own risk in the street. The rooms are tattered and the bed linens smell like the worst cheesy feet! As the door doesn't lock properly twice in the space of our 20 hour stay we were walked in on. Unfortunately to top all that off the staff don't seem to know when check out is so after having been advised it was 11:30 we were rudely thrown out at 11 by a scruffy man who barely spoke English.

Went to make an enquiry at this hotel and received abominable treatment. The male receptionist told me that "he did not have to tell me anything " and that "he did not have to be courteous ". Wow !!!! Perhaps a course at Charm School would be beneficial and improve first impressions.

The hostel is located in the basement of this budget hotel. I think all the positive reviews are coming from people who live in the hotel. The hostel is quite different. I was placed in a 8 bed room in which half of the men were actually living there as residents. There are no lockers to secure your belongings, so be prepared to take all valuables with you when you leave for a walk. I left one small suitcase under the bed and while I was away, somebody had rifled though my stuff. Seriously, don't leave anything of value in your hostel room.

The room was pretty bad. The window was left open for ventilation. The bathroom was in the room with no ventilator and the door had a broken lock. No privacy in the bathroom and the smell would permeate the room after somebody took a dump. At night it became very cold with the window open. I slept with my clothes on and kept my valuables with me in bed. I was so happy that I had booked only 1 night in this place. It's not worth the 9 pounds to stay here.

Glasgow very busy this weekend, so ended up in this hotel. I will regret this for a long time.
I think that most of the doors have been kicked in once or twice, the tv did not work, skirting boards were missing, the place is falling to bits,a breakfast was left in carrier bag outside door!I think that this place is used as emergency b+b for DSS
The taxi I ordered would not let us into his cab until he had satisfied himself that we were not a pair of smackheads, another driver said the same
At £35 a night you cannot expect the ritz, but it is not worth £25 a night, this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
The previous review(which I had not read) was wildly optomistic.

This place is a disaster area.

The first night I was in a dorm with a long-termer (2 months+). Such long-termers constitute the majority of the population, and they have little interest in getting to know the transients or being helpful, and they invariably occupy the bed nearest the outlets, etc.

This one went through four liters of cream soda, burped and farted continuously while watching movies on his laptop before dozing off and producing a chorus of moans, screams, and guttural snores that sounded like a misfiring diesel train.

During this time, two people who weren't assigned to the room somehow produced a key and wandered in, taking a look around before leaving.

Woke up at 3am to the sound of someone pounding on the wall of the room next door trying to get a plug into a socket, which I could make out because the walls are so paper-thin as to be effectively transparent.

There are something like four toilets for perhaps forty beds, and each toilet is coupled with a shower, meaning that if someone need to *either* shower *or* go to the bathroom, the door gets locked. Totally underprovisioned.

The subsequent day I moved into a private ensuite room. This was cleaner overall, but the bathroom was filthy and the toiletries consisted of one unwrapped miniature piece of soap.

Breakfast consists of a tiny bottle of milk, a styrofoam bowl, plastic spoon, individual serving of cereal, and a juice box.

The location is decent, being right near the Queens Park train station and near where several buses into central Glasgow stop.

Still, overall, avoid like the plague.

I am writing this review at 1:25 in the morning as I am being kept awake by the night porter and his friends having their nightly get together which if like other nights will go on until 7 in the morning, if you like the idea of spending some time in a good old fashioned doss house then this is the place for you, if however you want a nice place to stay where you can relax and watch tv on an evening then forget it. The tv in my room has been out of action since I arrived and all I get when I ask for it to be repaired is the mans trying to fix it, all it needs is an ariel and remote control. Do yourself a favour and pay that little bit extra and stay elsewhere this place will ruin your time in Glasgow.

what should we say!? It was horrible... to expensive for nothing... the shower was not working, the breakfast was ridiculous (a pack of cornflakes laid in front of the room door), it was loud (a street in front and a loud ventilation) and the staff was completely unkind. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM IN THIS HOTEL!

The hostel provides no security. The front door was never once even closed during my stay, and the luggage storage that they provide doesn't lock. While both of these are by reception, the receptionist often was gone from the counter and left them unattended. There are no lockers or extra security features in the rooms, either. I actually had a large sum of money and an ipod stolen from me in my locked room while I slept. Staff did nothing for me, and told me I was wasting their time. Absolutely terrible customer service, and unacceptable. Bathrooms were hardly cleaned, and quite filthy every time I went in. WiFi was down during the majority of my stay, yet they still handed us all over the WiFi passwords telling us it would work perfectly. The only positive thing I can say about this hostel is that they provide towels for you every day.
