Located just outside Central Station. Reception is upstairs from the street and the hotel being part of a very old listed building does not have any lifts which means it is not a good option for anybody with mobility issues. Location , right in heart of the city allied to reasonable prices are the big selling points for this hotel. Free afternoon tea / coffee and biscuits is a nice touch. Staff were generally very pleasant.
Room had all facilities but was very small and dated. Biggest issue with hotel was the access in evening. Had to buzz from street level to get in by the night porter who doubled as barman so could be left waiting outside for a while. Both nights the area outside front door attracted a crowd of people who congregated there which was somewhat intimidating. on second evening had to buzz a few times before being let in. Night Porter was not very pleasant saying "cannae be in 2 places at same time". Whilst a valid point, not the greeting guests are looking for after being kept waiting outside being pestered at doorway. Would be much better if guests given key card to gain entry.
Rennie McIntosh hotel offers convenient location if transferring through Central Station. Hotels in Sauchiehall Street offer better facilities for less if you are prepared to take a short bus ride and do not have the problems entering the hotel you face at Rennie McIntosh.

After some confusion with booking which was my fault the hotel kindly honoured our stay as I’d cancelled by mistake within minutes of booking (so this was fixed within same half hour)

Staff were lovely and friendly. Lovely lounge to sit in with free tea, coffee etc. We had a little one with us so found the lounge great to sit later on and have a quiet drink.

Only problem was our room, it was very small for 3 of us with a double bed. We did have a travel cot but if we’d put it up we’d of had no room for getting dressed. The room was very tired and needed repair. The bathroom door didn’t open fully as the sink stopped it and also the shower was in a small cupboard/room which I didn’t like tbh so sadly I didn’t us. We only stayed two days but that was enough due to size.

When leaving we did hear a guess say how big there room was and it did make us a little sad as we paid £179 and the room wasn’t worth that.

I didn’t expect luxury but a comfortable sleep and enough room to relax in.

Positive great location, no parking outside hotel so had to unload car and then walk

A cut above the average budget city centre hotel, this place is very close to Central Station--it probably shares some of its internal walls! Although the room was tiny (we were in 221), it was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed for a city centre stay. The shower in particular was an unusual affair, being in a cupboard and having no room to change in, we had to exit the shower cubicle and walk across to the toilet/sink room to dry off and get changed.

However, everything else in this hotel was lovely. The breakfast room was spacious and there was a good selection of cold foods from the continental buffet and the cooked breakfast was amazing.

There is free tea/coffee/hot chocolate machine in the lounge which is available all day, and if you are quick, there are also free biscuits.

Staff are super friendly. There is no lift however.

I would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Glasgow.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your visit and for the positive comments about our staff. We always appreciate when our guests take the time to share their concerns with us so we can continue to improve our service. We are one of the last historic building, part of Grahamstone Village dated back to 1680’s. Unfortunately, we do not have a lift largely due to the layout of the building. We are somewhat restricted with the historical importance of the building. I am sorry for this and thank you for also highlighting the more positive aspects of your stay. Hopefully, you will visit us again in the future.

Beware. I booked this hotel on 08/02/2020 before lock-down to attend the Piping Live festival and the World Pipe Band Championships that were cancelled due to the corona-virus. I was led to believe that I could cancel my booking which I did. However they have a non-refund policy so even though they were fully booked during the time of my intended stay and in unprecedented times. they have refused to refund £590.20 or issue a voucher for a future stay. They have not even had the courtesy to acknowledged any of my emails. I will definitely not be using this hotel or give any recommendations as the events I was to attend attract a lot of people.

The cost of this hotel was so low that I was a bit worried. However, it’s fantastic!
It’s well located just beside central station. The receptionist was pleasant and helpful. The rooms are a good size, everything was clean and had all the facilities you need in a room. Toiletries were nice, tea and coffee making facilities. Even nice touches like a fan and additional heater in the room so you could regulate the temperature easily.
I will definitely return here!

Stayed here for 3 nights in February at time of very cold stormy weather but there was a warm welcome at this hotel. Our room was on the top floor and was beautifully done out, lovely warm and cozy. There was an an suite shower room which was very nice and clean, bright and modern. The room had tea and coffee making facilites, safe and fridge. The bed was so comfy I didn't want to get out of it in the morning. Although our room faced the main street it was fairly quiet. The staff here are very pleasant and friendly, the lad who checked us is was very helpful even offering to help with our luggage. There is also a small comfortable lounge with bar where tea and coffee is free for guests - nice touch. Really enjoyed our stay and would deffo stay again!

without being judgemental to addicts i have never seen such a low place in all of my life even after staying in 8 pounds hostels in asia. without being racist i was greeted with the nicest staff who also stated they had concerns for wellbeing. very very sad as the previous ovwners offer lovely hi tea to pensioners and dcent clietelle however it has went to the level of renokil traps in hall way which may not be the new owners fault however what is thier fault is the fact you may be robbed or buying drugs or possibly sellying them infront of stadd.AVOID AT ANY COST

Two minutes from central station so great location. Two flights of stairs to get to reception with your cases. We were allocated a Queen suite on 4th floor another six flights of stairs with the cases. We had booked on booking.com and had included breakfast. But this is only continental breakfast and it is £3 each to upgrade to a cooked breakfast. The room was very compact. Very clean, staff friendly. Breakfast decent. No luggage room for you to store the luggage. But you can leave it in the lounge/bar area. There is complimentary tea and coffee of an afternoon. With the exception of all the stairs we had a great time but won’t stay here again due to no lifts and a dodgy knee.

Great, central location, very close to most of that the city center offers, even next to Glasgow Central train station. Staff friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make guests feel welcome. My room met my needs completely. Nice breakfast. Only downside was that it really isn't suitable for people with movement or health issues. The hotel due to age and history of this beautiful building there are no lifts. But you can exercise a lot by going up and down the stairs. Overall the stay was enjoyable.

A budget hotel in a great location. Clean, great breakfast and a friendly and welcoming staff. No lift so those with mobility problems are clearly forewarned in the hotel information. Would stay again without hesitation.

Hi Robbti, You'll have no problem with your bags, you leave them in the bar area which is under CCTV coverage and the very helpful reception staff look out for it ! Cheers, Skeney.

Cant comment on the luggage system but I did have problems with lack of hot water. Couldn't get any in my room either early morning or early evening. Perhaps I was just unlucky.
