We landed in Glasgow and taxied to the Claremont. We were met by our hosts and provided with a comfortable clean room on the ground floor. Tom, was an excellent host and breakfast was a complete Scottish breakfast filled with lots of local interest and information. We were able to walk to main bus routes and several good restaurants for our evening meals. The location was quiet and convenient. There are lots of sites to visit in Glasgow and the Hop On Hop Off bus was a efficient way to pick sites for the next days visits. The cathedral was a central focal point. The bus and train stations were nearby and destinations all over the country are available from them. A must visit is Stirling Castle and Bannockburn, both are located near each other after a bus ride. Go early as there is much to see.…
We stayed here for 4 nights in June/July 2019. After a harrowing drive into Glasgow where our car was clipped by another on the motorway, Tom welcomed us wonderfully and immediately offered a hot or cold drink to calm my nerves!. He spent quite a bit of time telling us about the area and provided a map, taxi number and information about good local restaurants. It is a beautiful house and we had a lovely quiet very large room at the back of the property, which included a small fridge. It was a 20 minute walk to the Cathedral. There was plenty of parking the the quiet street outside the B&B. Tom went well out of his way to ensure our trip was a memorable one. The breakfasts were terrific and there was so much to eat and lots of variety. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to our friends.…
We’ve stayed here a few times now. Tom and Christine are very helpful and friendly and the location is great with Glasgow city centre a short bus ride away and some nice restaurants within walking distance. Lots of choice at breakfast and set in s quiet neighbourhood. It’s our place of choice when visiting Glasgow.
Very comfortable beds in a clean, cosy home set in a quiet street on the east side of Glasgow. Only a 20 minute walk from George Square, also a hop skip and a jump from the Tennents & Drygate breweries. Very friendly, accomodating and helpful owners. Excellent spread at breakfast - anything you want. Very good value for money.
As soon as my wife and her friend arrived at the hotel, they realized it was a mistake. There was no reception, and the door was opened by another guest. Seven rooms share one small bathroom with a combined toilet / shower. The place has a pungent odor, and the neighborhood does not seem safe. My wife left immediately and checked into another hotel. I wrote to the hotel within an hour, but they did not bother responding.
