Just home from another fabulous stay at Craigellachie House. Beautiful house and fabulous facilities. The owners have honestly thought of everything. Highly recommend Pine Bank Chalets. We are already planning our next visit.
The cabin was cosy and clean but the shower really let it down. We stayed in Nethy and after a weeks hiking and camping were looking forward to a treat. The shower was pretty much unusable both nights. Was pulsing drips and went from extreme hot to freezing cold. Would not return on that basis.
Four of us stayed in Craigellachie Lodge which is the main house on the site sleeping 8 in permanent beds, the main room double was very comfortable with good quality linen and towels. The quality of the house overall is as per the website images - which is a high standard of decor and fixtures throughout. The house feels like its your home and not like a rental. The heating was very efficient, good water pressure for great showers, all 3 of which are high spec and spacious. The two lounges are minimum 25 sq m each and plenty of space if you have 8 in the house. The kitchen fittings were good quality but what made it all stand out was the details of leaving washing machine and dishwasher tablets and bin bags. The details that annoy you for short stay when you only need a couple of each, same goes for the log burners in each lounge. The only two comments that are not 5 star: there is a locked door in the hall which must be a staff room accessed from the rear yard and several occasions we heard low level radio and talking, though this was im the middle of the day and not a nuisance. The other comment is about the space for 8 people at the dining table. You do get 8 chairs and could sit 8 around the table but its tight for space and the table is not so large. A mixture of adults and kids would be OK but all adults would be cramped for sure. We never actually saw any staff from the site and checked ourselves in and out so it was not a problem and my wife made contact about the gym access by phone. A great house - we loved it (and the weeks holiday in the area) To get some variation from the immediate area of Glemore and Cairngorms we got some eBike rentals from Kingussie and rode up Glen Tromie, which was truly spectacular, the further you go the better it gets!…
Stayed in Speylodge and can honestly say it is lovely, we will definitely be returning. It is exactly as the photos show. Great location. Decked area is enclosed which is great for pets or children. Parking is in car park area in front of house, not loads of parking if it was busy with people bringing multiple cars but most chalet shops have their own parking. We didn’t have a problem while we were there but worth considering number of cars you come in.
Booked over 2 years ago, Covid restrictions lifted enough to finally allow us back to Pine Bank Chalets. The owners have had it tough through the pandemic, but standards haven't been allowed to slip. Macdui is not cheap, but it is beautiful, equipped with everything you could need including its own fantastic sauna. Already booked again for next January, and Simon, if you ever sell up, I'd happily buy Macdui and live there!
My friends and I have been wanting to stay in cedar lodge since we saw it getting built and we were not at all disappointed. The log cabin is beautifully built with maximum space especially with the ground floor and 1st floor balconies. Love the all wood interior, it gives the cabin a very cozy and authentic feel. The cabin comes with all the amenities you could possibly need and more. The supply of cut logs and kindling for the wood burning stove is a nice added touch. The cabin comes with a great sound system with speakers mounted in the ceiling which are great for some drinks and music with friends. Both bathrooms were beautifully decorated and very modern (loved the ground floor bathroom basin!). I’ve seen some people complaining about the check in/out time being but I thought it was very reasonable considering it’s only an hour earlier/later than most hotels and there’s only one room to clean in a hotel. Talking of cleanliness, the cabin was absolutely spotless! Couldn’t fault the cleaning team at all. Simon was very helpful prior to our stay and promptly answered all of my questions. He was nice enough to let us park our car up at our cabin as we arrived hours before check in time and offered us a place to store our luggage in if we didn’t want to leave it in the car. Check in/out is made very easy, you just collect your keys from a key box (the code is emailed to you prior to your arrival) and then on check out you post the keys into another box (the most hassle free check in I’ve experienced). I loved everything about the cabin and we’re already talking about our next visit to Cedar Lodge!…
1st time staying here. We booked the Fintry which accommodated our family well! We stayed for 7 nights. The cabin was clean, well laid out and equipped with all the utilities you require. Location is perfect, everything is within a short walking distance! Simon, the owner, has also been great and approachable. We left our baby monitor charger and Simon has helped to get this returned. We will definitely return.
We stayed in the Spey and Cairngorm lodges for my Mum's 60th. Simon was great in the lead up answering and helping me with a few queries. The lodges were immaculate and clean, great facilities. We will be back!
We stayed as a family group in Fintry Cabin and Einich Cabin. Accommodation was perfect, very clean and comfortable. It was a very cold weekend but the wood burning stoves kept us all cosy. The kitchens were really well equipped allowing us to easily cook meals for our group. We will definitely book again.
We stayed in the Einich chalet for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a perfect location in a quiet corner of the holiday park. Communication with the owner was excellent throughout and the check in process was speedy and efficient. We will definitely be returning and would have no hesitations in recommending Pine Bank to anyone else.
