Arrived at hotel and got checked in straight away (around 11am) normally check in time is 4pm.
Room was lovely and spotless. I really liked how the tv remote was in a sealed bag saying it had been sanitised given the current situation. There were 2 double beds in the room.
Breakfast time was not organised/handled very well... On arrival to the hotel, you pre booked slots for meal times, which I thought it meant it was going to be very well organised. We booked 9-10am slot, we went down at around 9:15, the restaurant was so busy - there was a queue to get a table and then another big queue to stand in to get your food. There wasn't really any social distance in place by the time you got to the food area. The breakfast was nice, no issues with it at all. We were B&B only.
The price of drinks at the bar are expensive, but that's just the usual for hotels.. 1pint of beer + a gin, £10.80
The location of the hotel is far out from Aviemore town centre, but we enjoyed the walks, roughly 30min walk, but we had fab weather so happy to walk.
We hired bikes and cycled up to Glenmore, lots of trails around that way.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay/time in Aviemore and would stay at the hotel again.

Reading the reviews on here I was really worried about my 3 night stay here on 15th Feb however I found my stay perfect for what we needed. We were booked in for ski lessons at Cairngorm so this location was ideal being only 20 mins from the Ski resort with Ski hire from FreeSki en route. We checked in at 6pm on our first evening so avoided the check-in queues people posted about and i would recommend that, reception were very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in a family room as I was with my Husband, 2 kids and our dog, our room had a separate kids room with bunk beds and the kids had their own TV which helped giving us some space from each other after long days and car journeys etc. The room was warm and spotlessly clean, the beds were comfy and our floor was really quiet despite the hotel being full with families. There was lots of hot water and a power shower which was exactly what you needed after a day on the slopes. I would agree with other reviewers that it was disappointing that the children's play area and American style diner in the Fun House was closed and this is not advertised the hotel website and Booking.com stated it is open however thanks to reviews on here I knew in advance it was closed and could manage the kids expectations, if we hadn't been skiing I probably would have moved hotels as the pool and fun house were the main deciders for staying here in this hotel. The pool was closed entirely one of our 3 days and availability limited so we only got 1 swim booked and by chance got a 2nd due to a last minute change and on both these occasions the children's pool was closed as it was too cold and the adult pool was also rather cold. I guess the pool booking issue is due to Covid restrictions which is outside of the staffs control , changing rooms were spotless and warm water in the showers. Breakfast each morning was delicious and plentiful and Brian was very friendly with a cheery good morning each day. We ate in the hotel one evening and I would avoid it it was canteen style food and lacked any form of seasoning and they charged us £19 each for 3 of us as my daughter is 15 and £10 for my son and all he had was a few pizza slices, head into Aviemore for dinner instead you will get excellent food and service in the Cairngorm Hotel. It is worth noting on a B&B basis this was one of the cheapest hotels in the area for that half term week so there is a "you get what you pay for factor" and we wanted a base as planned to only sleep and get breakfast in the hotel and that is what we got and it was perfect.

We stayed a Thursday and Friday night with an itison voucher. We paid £125 for the voucher for two night stay plus breakfast on both mornings and dinner on one morning. We brought our two children (1&4) and therefore had to pay an additional £50 to upgrade to a family room (two double beds) and for the extra meals for breakfast and dinner. We were a bit apprehensive before the stay having read a number of very negative reviews. However I can honestly say that the hotel is fab. Yes some areas may be slightly tired and in need of a little updating but the facilities are fantastic, particularly for children and the staff are all very friendly. We originally allocated a room on the first floor however the receptionist offered to change us to a quiet area of the ground floor as it would be easier access for our toddler. The room was fine, clean and fairly modern. The bath tap did not run very hot which was strange as the sink tap was scolding hot. The swimming pool is great, yes not overly modern and changing rooms a little chilly but all in all they're good. We had breakfast both mornings which is buffet style and offers something for everyone. The coffee is not great but that would be the only negative comment to make. We had the buffet dinner on the Friday eve and this was great - everything freshly cooked and v tasty. There were plenty options again - more kids style meals and nice flavoursome adult meals too. My daughter really enjoyed the fish pie. We also had a free bottle of wine with the meal with our voucher which was lovely. We would definitely return but probably during the week if possible as it did get busier on the Friday eve. This is a popular hotel which fantastic facilities and I would recommend it to anyone with young or even older children.

What a fabulous stay at this hotel. We had booked a twixmas break being 3 nights but due to bad weather we arrived the next day. The girl in the reception was lovely Sara I believe her name was. Very calm and controlled considering the amount of people arriving in the same situation.
The hotel is lovely, beautifully decorated for Christmas. It has a great foyer very relaxing and warm
We had a double double room and yes it needed a wee upgrade but I know the double rooms have been done. That said it was very clean, well equipped with tea-coffee making facilities. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board, flat screen tv and a fan.
The food was lovely, it is buffet style for both breakfast and dinner and everything was lovely and piping hot.
It is a dog friendly hotel so if you don't like dogs then don't go.
There were lots of children so again if that's not your thing.. Don't go and spoil their fun by moaning about them.
The pool was great and slot times worked very well.
My only gripe is that there seems to be a shortage of staff but another few like Sara would soon sort that out.
I will be back for sure

Just back from a 4 night stay at this hotel, from the outset we had to wait an hour to check in then getting to rooms they were tired and dated, we were also told that swimming was fully booked for the first three days of our holiday. This hotel was chosen due to the pool. No where in any communication either directly or in the website does it recommend booking the pool prior to your arrival. We then had to book a time for breakfast, one morning the only slot we could get was 10.45, our girls are 6 & 2 there was no way they could wait until this time for breakfast so we ended up out for breakfast.

Evening meals were very poor quality, limited choice available, on Thursday one of the options was a hot dog? What grown adult has a hot dog for dinner???

The rooms were of poor quality, my mother had to go to reception 4 times as her key did not work, her water went off completely and ours went a horrible brown/yellow colour. When we went to reception we were offered bottled water but this didn't help us shower or bathe.

The room was not hoovered or cleaned our entire trip, we were advised (after questioning) that as we're in a family bubble no one would enter the room. I don't see how this is applicable if the person entering the room is cleaning? No clean towels were provided until we asked at reception and were told to put dirty towels in a plastic bag and they would be swapped with clean towels, we put four bath towels and 2 small towels out and got two clean bath towels back.

I appreciate COVID is having a massive effect on the service provided, however I feel management are continuing to charge full price for limited facilities and I also believe limited staff are currently being employed to keep costs down and maximise profit hence the delays at check in, meal times, lack of cleaners etc

Over I would not recommend and will definately not return.

However Aviemore is fantastic and the surrounding area was such a beautiful place to visit. We will definately return however it will not be to this hotel

Firstly, I would like to say i have been visiting this hotel for over 20 years.
On arrival the receptionist was going to charge us the full amount, saying she did not have a note to say it was an itison voucher. Our only option for breakfast (on a relaxing break) was 7am or 7.15am, take it or leave it.
We made our way to our room (114), on arrival i was sorely disappointed at the lack of cleanliness. There was a boxed in area under the radiator which had clearly not been cleaned at all as there was a mass of human hair, the windows were covered in condensation and mould, the beds were not even up to the standard of caravan beds (thin, noisy and extremely uncomfortable), the cleanliness in the toilet was just as bad, there was plastic backing from a feminine hygiene product behind the toilet. The shower was awful.
This room had an unbroken seal on the door to say it had been fully sanitised!
The corridors & stairwells were in need of a good hover and deep clean, during our 3 day stay, the same discarded receipt lay at the bottom of the stairs leading to the reception area. The toilet cleaning schedule(displayed outside the toilet door in reception) has columns stating they will be cleaned every 2 hours, however it was ticked every 2nd column meaning they were cleaned EVERY 4 HOURS, totally unacceptable at any time never mind in the midst of a pandemic.
Not once did I see a cleaner within the reception area sanitising tables and chairs as guests left making way for new guests to be seated or cleaning surfaces and door handles.
The food was limited (but again this was understandable) however this should not impact on the quality. The food was bland, dry and cold. The system in place to queue for food was also shambolic.
I have NO intention of returning!!!

My partner and I stayed on Thursday 23rd of July 2020 for 1 night, Bed and Breakfast. We arrived around 6pm, On arrival we attempted to book breakfast to which we were told we could not get a slot until 11am, We were going walking in the morning so had planned to have breakfast at 7.30am and then leave. We were assured we could have a ‘continental’ breakfast takeaway in our room which we reluctantly accepted as we had no other option for breakfast.
The stairwell up to our bedroom on the first floor had a strong, unpleasant odour. Our bedroom was extremely hot, we had opened the windows and put the fan on but this made absolutely no difference. The bathroom in general lacked cleanliness. Our shower was more a trickle than anything and was luke warm at best.
My partner and I woke several times through the night to springs poking into our sides and the bed creaked every time one of us moved.

We picked up our ‘continental’ breakfast the next morning and took these to our room.
My small brown bag contained a tub of cornflakes (this would have equated to a 1/4 bowl of cereal, if that), a warm bottle of water, a warm carton of orange juice, a cereal bar and a coconut protein bar.
My partner’s small brown bag contained a tub of crunchy nut (again equated to a 1/4 bowl of cereal), warm bottle of water, water carton of orange juice, a cereal bar and a MARS BAR!!! For breakfast we felt this wasn’t very appropriate .... It seemed to us that they had just thrown any old thing into our breakfast bags that they had lying around!!!

Our stay was absolutely not worth £99 and we definitely will not be returning. I fully understand that due to COVID19 there are changes/restrictions to the way restaurants etc are run but cleanliness should be to an extremely high standard at all times, especially with the ongoing pandemic. I will ensure to tell all friends and family of the experience and ensure they avoid as there are far nicer hotels to stay just along the road.

I am sad to say that we could not stay at Coylumbridge Hotel as there were a few things that we were not very happy with.

Firstly let me point out that reception staff and bar and the lass on the small food bar area were all well mannered and I cannot fault any one in these areas on the 27/07/20.

With the current government guidelines we all appreciate things do take ever so slightly longer. On arrival at the hotel we joined an exceptionally long line which then filtered into 2 lines that had had guests not sticking to the correct sequence of moving forward to the reception staff. We waited 45 mins to get to the front the lass on reception could not have been more apologetic re our wait.
We were told that unless we had booked the DBB then we would have to eat from the all day menu.
When we arrived at our room I was delighted to see that room had a sanitised unbroken sticker, it gave a real sense of things were clean inside.
How wrong was i, most tops of surfaces eh tv, mirrors and window ledges in the corners had derbies and dust. There was a tiara on the floor and the bathroom door had a toilet roll folded in the look to make it work and looked all damaged and behind the toilet door was filthy. There was also mould on the window.
I left to have a beer while others unpacked. Got a beer then could not get a seat anywhere. There is definitely not enough seats for the guests.I then managed to get a seat where a roudy bunch of foreign guests were sat in a big group of 10+ and had used other chairs from other tables and the mess they had around them on the floor was disgusting empty paper cups, tissues etc.

Sitting there I took to read the daily food menu I thought I was in a “caravan holiday park” and not a hotel. My young lad is a very picky eater and sadly there would have been nothing for him no chips, fruit or even soup.

I about broke down could not believe it that in a hotel of this standard things were going from bad to worse quickly.

We managed to get alternative accommodation elsewhere locally within 30 minutes of checking in and left.

I was told I was to receive a full refund. This was in my bank within 3 days but as off yet I have not had any response from management re my now 2 emails.

I have also included some pictures.

Where do I start. Having enjoyed the coylumbridge over 30 years from stakis to Hilton and now the downward spiral of Britannia!!!

The world biggest modern day pandemic and the place feels filthy. Yes they have removed a lot of furniture and distancing people so for that fair enough. But come on guys. Watered down soap in the toilets which is so thin you can’t even get a single
Bubble out if it. Chef in main restaurant is using his hands (with silicone gloves on to be fair) to put vegatbles onto plates rather than a serving spoon! Wtf.

I get that to increase margins you have to cut costs and believe me i know leisure business but they have gone about it all wrong here. Staff used to be mainly Spanish at the end of Hilton’s ownership and were very helpful. Not saying current staff are bad but clearly no where near a match of what they had before here. Then again when you see what they did to staff at start of covid it maybe isn’t a big surprise! The seats in dining room are sticky to sit on !! Nice, gives a true feeling of cleanliness and hygiene in what clearly is non existant cleaning vigilance during COVID. The whole hotel needs a deep deep clean. Apart from sanitiser stations around the place there is no more cleaning in any area now.

Kids playground has had parts sectioned off for over a year, maybe they can’t get parts behind fair but a year. Was always immaculate maintained under Hilton.

The chalets are still ran by Hilton grand vacations and are spotless and well maintained unlike the hotel. I can’t imagine Hilton being the operating company of the chalets for very long as I’m sure the hotel will not drag down the chalet resort as in my view the whole coylumbridge resort is crumbling. Yes times are hard but this is based on 3 stays here since last October 2019 but I think it will be our last. Yes it’s cheap guys and they do great deals but it’s not value, you get what you pay for. In saying that it’s still the same price as when Hilton had it and it was much better. Just my views. Hopefully they can get a grip of it as yes it’s not one of the iconic Scottish resorts like gleneagles. It’s a family friend, well used and comfortable hotel and resort but Britannia are certainly not doing it any favours. You get a couple of years as an operator for conduct business like
This and the return business starts to tail off as a result and the death spiral starts of more costs cut and more rubbish.

Hopefully things will turn around but I wouldn’t hold my breath!

We have been visiting the Coylumbridge for as long as I can remember, several times a year including Christmas and New Year. We have tolerated the poor quality rooms and occasional poor service but this has been undoubtedly the worst stay that we have experienced.

The hotel had previously been a Hilton but was taken over by Britannia Hotels about 1 year ago.

The hotel is now dirty with staff distinctly lacking in training. The cost of our stay was hugely inflated for a 2 night stay at Hogmanay but we decided that it would be a nice break however it didn’t turn out well.

The bedroom and en-suite was dirty
as well as dilapidated, the bedroom carpet was also well beyond it’s use.

At dinner (served in the restaurant) on Hogmanay the cutlery had encrusted food on them and the wine glasses with lipstick marks. The dinner chairs are filthy and we were all dressed for the evening in kilts and nice dresses. The waiter struggled to open the bottle of wine hacking the cork out with the cork screw.

We waited for 2 1/2 hours for our main course by which point our children had got bored and left the table. By this point we had missed a significant part of the entertainment so left without dessert and coffee. There was also no alternative to the haggis course for vegetarians.

All the waiting staff seem to lack training and constantly dropped things on the floor so the was a constant noise of things banging. They also seems to want to put plates of food down in front of anyone rather than the person that ordered the specific meal.

The following day the breakfast room kept running out of dishes and food items.

When we returned to our room it hadn’t been cleaned and we were later informed that we needed to hang a notice on the door handle to ask for the room to be cleaned! No wonder the hotel is filthy if they are cutting corners like this.

When we tried to go swimming there was a waiting list?!? Then we were advised we had to pay to use the towels (we were already paying £500 a night to stay in the hotel, surely the towels should have been included!).

It is to our great disappointment that this was the final straw and we won’t be returning.
