We were keen to visit family in Aviemore during the October break but Covid restrictions prevented us from staying in their home. This is when the Badaguish centre really saved the day for us!
Our wigwam accommodation in this beautiful spacious location was wonderfully equipped with fridge, microwave, kettle and free mains electricity for lights and fridge. The £1 token we bought at reception for heating and sockets was not used up after a two day stay in cool weather!
We bought delicious, freshly prepared 'Wigwam meals' available from Claire and her team at the site Badaguish Kitchen for an unbelievably good value £5 a head so we were free to spend the whole day outside and not un-necessarily mix with the local shops in these Covid times.
The friendly, courteous and respectful staff enabled us to have a very comfortable and Covid-Secure mini break-highly recommended and we very much hope to be back!

We opted for this wigwam stay due to the location and walk from Aviemore which is approximately five miles walk from the centre into the woods. Easy to get to via foot if you are walking via the Old Logging Way.

We arrived after check-In time which is until 5pm so the site does self check-in in which they leave the keys in the door to the wigwam and you just head off there after checking in on the cairngorms track and trace. Probably the fastest check-in Iv'e ever done at a camping or wigwam site.

The facilities were good for the size of the site with two toilet blocks, all clean and ready to use for visitors. There's also an electricity card box (You need to buy electric) but this didn't work for any of the pound coins we took along and we had about 30 of them... So we headed over to the wigwam and the electricity was plenty.

There's a heater, microwave, kettle and fridge which is super convenient but absolutely nowhere to buy food or drinks on site which makes no sense. I was told by reception the closest place was about 5 miles (Aviemore) so it's lucky we purchased our stuff before we walked there!

The site is clean, well presented and hosts Log Cabins, Wigwams and camping so there's an assortment of things to choose from. Our two night stay cost us £153.00 in total so it's around an average price for wigwams across Scotland.

The site is very good in relation to it's location and walking distance from a fair few big walks which is ideal (And the purpose of our trip) and there's also a pub serving hot food/beers and drinks around 2 miles away at the loch. There's also a shop at the loch.

The site also has WIFI for those needing it but it didn't work during the stay. You can connect to it but nothing loads. That's not important though as we were camping and I prefer not to have WIFI.

Overall I'd recommend the place. It's suited to groups, Families, Clubs, Couples and pretty much everyone else. Our visit was a Tuesday Night until Wednesday night.

We stayed here for 3 nights beginning of July 21.
Seven adults and two children, location is excellent and is in a beautiful setting, lodges (L7) are spacious and well maintained.
The kitchen is well equipped but could do with a bigger fridge/ freezer and I would personally change the oven and hob to electric as the gas oven just never seems to come up to temperature , presuming it's LPG gas .
The beds are comfortable mattresses are well-maintained which is extremely important, the showers/wetrooms could do with a little improvement, having to keep pushing the button to keep the shower on, also the shower heads themselves could probably do with being replaced, the wet rooms seem to be a good idea but in the small bathrooms upstairs can become quite treacherous even though you're a given a squeegee mop to move the water the floor can still be quite wet .
The boiler and the hot water need to be checked as a bit of a shortage of hot water the boiler the pressure was at 0 this could be to do with the gas setup.
I would probably add more outside seating as one picnic bench is not enough specially if the lodge was at capacity.
Overall we had a good experience and I would stay here again if I was visiting the Aviemore area ,it's around 15-minute drive from the centre of Aviemore which has plenty of amenities.

We've stayed at Badaguish a couple of times now with the youth from our church. On both occasions we have stayed in lodges, and we find these are absolutely ideal. They all have twin bedrooms with en-suite facilities, and a large kitchen/dining room/lounge area which is great for the kids to enjoy free time together in the evenings. Each lodge also has its own barbecue, and the dishwasher is a useful time-saving luxury!

The staff at Badaguish are always so friendly, and they will really go out of their way to help you have a successful event. The camp site is a nice size (not too big) and it lies in an extremely quiet, private setting. There are so many wonderful outdoor activities nearby, I can see our group coming back year after year. I certainly hope so!

Went to stay in an Eco Pod at the weekend while on a swimming trip with friends. Got there on the Sat evening only to find I had booked the wrong date and the pods were fully booked !!!

Thankfully the team were very understanding and instead arranged for us to stay in one of their lodges which happened to be available. It turns out it was much more suitable for us and allowed us to dry off our wetsuits etc in the dry room and enjoy a lovely morning swim at Loch Vaa the next day. We had a brilliant nights sleep and would highly recommend to anyone having an adventure in the area.

Thank you Team Badaguish

The Badaguish Outdoor Centre is in a great location and the views from the pods are wonderful. The pods are spacious and cosy with the added benefit of a kettle, fridge and heater. The site is well kept with friendly staff but sadly very much let down by poor toilet and showering facilities at the Wigwam kitchen area. The water trickles and scalding warm. Moving forward with an upgrade to the facilities would be very much beneficial!

We stayed here in one of the WigWam pods for New Year, 2 adults, 2 young children and 2 springer spaniels !

The pods are cosy, clean and spacious, we brought bedding and blankets as it was forecast to snow and with the heating we were very snug !

The site is fantastic, beautiful and there is east foot access to the fire trails through the forest with spectacular views of the mountains, perfect for morning walks.

For families, the play equipment and facilities were great, including a climbing net, covered sports arena and giant climbing frame (and monkey rings over the pond, which we didn’t attempt due to the weather 😂)

From the pods the kids could play out and enjoy their freedom, the site felt really friendly and safe.
The toilets and washrooms were warm and clean and easily accessible.

The location is perfect, a 10 min drive from Aviemore and only 15 mins from Cairngorm Mountain Ski Resort.

The welcome was lovely and communication was great, the access was snow covered and icy due to the weather but the site had kindly pre-warned us of this and we were in a 4wd so was no problem 👍🏻

As well as the pods they also have some amazing looking lodges available too.

If you are the adventurous type who likes camping ,forest walks and cosy nights this is the place for you ,we absolutely loved it and will be back !

Thank you all at Badaguish x

Stayed in a camping pod for 2 nights as a family of 5. Pod is comfy, warm and has a fridge, kettle and microwave. Plenty of space for all of us to spread out. Stunning location and the drive from the main road is simply beautiful. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Toilets and showers are spotless. WiFi worked really well in the pod which is a bonus with a teenager. Onsite catering provided by Speyside Kitchen is worth a visit the food is amazing and they can provide catering packages for your stay.

Really great evening spent at Badaguish. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful in accommodating a last minute reservation. Wigwam was very spacious for two people and had everything needed for a short stay. Would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back.

An excellent base for a beautiful race. Well organised and great support from the holiday makers for all the runners. I finished with a bruised bump on my head and blood dripping down my leg and I got some very kind sympathetic support approaching the end. A big PB and only superficial cuts so very happy. The surrounding area is beautiful for walking with woodland trails and mountain views. Loch Morlich nearby too. The accommodation looks awesome. Well worth an internet search
