I first visited the pub in 2016. The food was delicious, the pub had a nice, lovely atmosphere. It felt like people, locals and staff alike wanted to be.
It's no way as good as it was. This once beautiful and lovely place clearly suffers cruelly suffers from a lack of management. It feels like no one wants to be there. Not sure what happened to the previous chef but they should call him back. Or coach/help whoever cooks the food. It's not disgusting, it's clear that efforts have gone into the preparation of the food but it's tasteless and doesn't look very appealing.
This pub has a lot to offer, history, lots of nice visual but the owner needs to care about it and put the right people in place if he/she wants to save it.
I feel sorry for the staff, they are lovely but need directions.

When we went onto the website to book it wouldn't let us, so we called the hotel to book a double for a Sunday night, there was no confirmation email I have to email to double check what times we were to check in. We got to the hotel and it was lovely our room was beautiful a lovely fraser tartan. We had tea booked at 6 which was really tasty there was football on in the bar and everyone was getting a bit rowdy at one point we heard someone being thrown out. No one ever came and apologised I used yo work in the hotel business and if that had happened when I was on shift I would have apologised to the customers in the restaurant. We had breakfast the next day which was lovely but when we went to check out there was no one to be found in the ground floor of the hotel we searched for someone for 5/10 minutes but there was no apology. We were left a little disappointed.

We had a huge room and huge bathroom, with all amenities except for a shelf for washbags. Reception staff made a note of this. The room was very clean and extremely comfortable. Huge bath, plenty of hot water. On a main road, so some rooms at the front might suffer from traffic noise. The bar/restaurant had an abundance of tartan and Scottish history. We thoroughly enjoyed both dinners taken there. We would go back.

Stopped for dinner when passing through Beauly and opted for the Lovat Arms as it was dog friendly. Staff were great, helpful and friendly as you would expect in the Scottish Highlands. Haggis starter was passable but the potato skins were soaked in a cheap bbq sauce that ruined them. The chicken fajitas were actually ok apart from the fact that they were served with cheddar cheese and chutney (described on the menu as salsa). One of the daily specials was salmon so I opted for that and I have to it was a terrible mistake. For £13.75 they served the smallest bit of salmon I have ever seen as a main course. I immediately complained without any response. Wine prices are sky high too.

Worth avoiding.

Booked 2 rooms by email, requesting B&B but when we went for breakfast we were told that there was no breakfast included in our price and they wanted another £15 each on top of our booking. If your looking to stay there, think twice. The place is run down, badly managed etc. bed rooms were 1/2 decent but very tired !

We were staying at the local campsite and they recommended the Lovat for a meal, we are glad they did
Good quality pub grub, and at a very reasonable price. Friendly service too.
The parking is a little restricted outside, but we found a huge car park by the shinty club which is only a short walk.

Usually quite good here, however if you are staying in room 11 and have an early start the thumping music from the bar may prevent you getting to sleep. I complained about it yesterday evening and it seemed to cease around 9pm. As I am writing this, at 10:15pm the next evening, the music is as loud as ever. The current management seem to have little regard for the comfort of their guests. I will request a move to another room tomorrow and see what happens.

We booked to stay at the Lovat Arms Hotel for a friends wedding that was being held near by. We checked in and were very underwhelmed by the initial customer service by staff but proceeded with our stay. We asked staff for assistance with booking a taxi to and from the wedding, again the assistance was minimal and not helpful. We attended the wedding and returned to the hotel at 12:20am to find the hotel completely locked up, no one on the front desk, no one answering the phones and absolutely no possibility of accessing the room we had booked or any of our belongings inside the room. At no point did any staff explain that the hotel would be entirely locked after a certain time. We were left with no where to sleep in the middle of the night. Luckily we were able to sleep on a sofa at the wedding venue that we traveled back to. When we went back in the morning to retrieve our belongings staff were unapologetic and offered no explanation for the level of service we had received. My advice would be to avoid this place all together. On a side note it’s dated and tired and the room we were in for a short period of time was extremely basic and small. Not worth going anywhere near this place. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

We were visiting Beauly and looked at the menus of several cafes, bistros and pubs in the area, but was drawn to the majesty of Beauly's centre piece, The Lovat Arms Hotel & Restaurant. Well, I can honestly say we made the right choice.

My family and myself were made to feel very welcome, the food was absolutely first class and the decor, ambience and historic connection to Clan Fraser of Lovat was brilliant. And a big shout out to our very entertaining and efficient waiter, Larry...he so needs to be made a honorary clansman and wear a Clan Fraser of Lovat Kilt!

Last evening, I visited The Lovat Hotel in Beauly with four members of my family, for my brother’s birthday. We hadn’t forewarned the hotel that it was a special occasion, however the staff quickly picked up on this. Larry, our waiter, was absolutely fabulous, full of fun and made us so welcome, as did the lady waitress, I’m sorry that we didn’t catch her name. They were so attentive. The food was first class, so tasty and well presented, including a visit to our table from the talented chef. Could not recommend this place more highly. We’ll certainly be back!
