This guesthouse is top of the north. Mary and mark are the perfect host and hostess. On arrival both were out to help us in with our luggage. Our bedroom looked brand new from the ceiling light down to the carpet. Even the freshness of the toilet stood out.Their hospitality was outstanding. We had a great conversation with them getting to know each other. Both took an interest in how our day went.My wife is gluten free and was over the moon when mary presented her with gluten free pancakes to take on our trip to Orkney and I was not left out when she came back with ordinary for me. There is a good sized car park for parking. The property is all on the level and is spotless throughout. Although it is on a main road we had a good nights sleep each night. We would recommend this guesthouse to anyone and will be back as soon as we can.…
I’ve stayed here several times before/after visits to Orkney and it’s a really lovely B&B. Mary and Mark are extremely welcoming, the rooms are well-appointed and cosy, and the food is delicious. I particularly recommend Mary’s home-made pancakes!
If you want to stay somewhere warm and welcoming then this is the place, Mark and Mary are fantastic, we couldn't have asked for more, nothing was to much trouble and there knowledge of the area was brilliant. The guest house is really clean and tidy and the breakfast was fantastic, the choice was great. Mark and Mary are a wonderful couple. We hope to return one day soon.
We had a great experience staying here. Unfortunately, fo the outside the building looks a bit like something from the 60’s. Inside, however, it is as pleasing and comfortable as any B&B we have stayed in. Mary and Mark are excellent hosts, full of local knowledge and up for a chat. The beds are really comfy and the hot water unlimited in the bathroom. The choice of continental or cooked breakfast offerings were varied enough to satisfy the hungriest adventurer. Despite the limited accommodation available at the top of Scotland, this is undoubtedly the best choice.
We stayed with Mark and Mary last year so as far as we were concerned there was only one place in John o groats to stay the best b&b there. Their hospitality could teach a lot of establishments how it’s done. Rooms spotless huge big fluffy towels, a breakfast fit for kings including large homemade pancakes which were delicious and we were given some to take with us. Mark and Mary are a really lovely couple and treated us like friends anyone heading this way look no further for a b&b this is simply the best.
