Another fabulous stay. Visited last Easter for 5 nights and rebooked for Easter this year for 7 night. Lodge is absolutely fab. A real home from home. They are very spacious with central heating, log burner in livingroom (logs provided for arrival) and we purchased more from Castletown for the remainder of our stay. Washing machine with tumble dryer really is a bonus as you never know what the weather will be like. Cannot recommend these lodges enough. Fantastic base to explore the Highlands (wick, thurso, Castletown, Dunnet head, duncansbay stacks). Lodges are well equipped with hoover, ironing board, dishwasher, coffee machine etc. Basically.... keep your lodge clean and empty the bins and recycle (clearly stated on the lodge info) bin bags etc are provided. Read a few negative comments about bed not being changed and no cleaner....these lodges are not hotels! They are self contained self catering lodges that will be deep cleaned on check out. We really look forever to our next stay (all being well [October) .

Whilst at first sight the apartment looks great it becones apparent that they are not that good. Only one bedroom has a rail to hang clothes... no draws at all....very basic. The lounge furniture is not comfortable...have to admit the kitchen is well equipped though. Internet signal is very poor and disappears round the flat. Have been staying here over 3 weeks and bedding and towels only changed once.. had to replace toilet roll myself and bins not emptied at all....there is no vacuum to tidy up and this has not been done either. The icing on the cake is that the heating is not working in the lounge and it is very cold and nothing can be done until after the weekend and no heater or anything offered. Would not stay here again.

We booked direct as we wished to be near the sign and access to ferries. This provided both of those. We were using public transport so we bussed it from Inverness to Thurso then had to wait for the town bus. Be careful as weekend bus services are very intermittent or not at all. We had to book a cab to get back to Thurso on Sunday. So if you have a car this won't be an issue. The accommodation is great. The room we had was basic but good. Wi-fi, TV and there is a cafe and the brewery close if you want to eat and drink. There are family cabins. The ferry is minutes away and there are lots of walks locally. Lots of natural beauty and wildlife.

We have recently spent 3 nights in the Jan de Groote suite here. It was an absolutely amazing experience. The space was brilliant- downstairs there was a spacious sitting/ eating room with sea views from most windows. A fully equipped kitchen, with oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, a espresso machine etc meant we could eat in which was handy given the small number of local eateries around. A well equipped bathroom with waterfall shower was also on the ground floor. It was all so cosy and quiet. But it was upstairs that really shone for us- the biggest, comfiest super king bed from where you could see and hear the sea all around. The huge copper bath was so relaxing, to be able to lie in it and watch the waves in complete peace and privacy was just amazing. The high ceilings were mesmerising to look at, and at night the only sounds were the wind and the waves. We left feeling thoroughly refreshed, after lots of long walks along the coast. It really is the perfect space to recharge. There are a fair few steps up to the suite and then up,to the bedroom, but if mobility is not an issue then I do not hesitate to recommend it.

The cabins generally have excellent sea views and at one time may have looked good however now they could do with a tidy up inside and out. The furniture looks like something from a large SwedishPut it together yourself store. Low backed sofas and chairs. Some cabinets are missing hinges and doors. The site is short of staff. Don't think we will return

We had a lovely short-stay at John o'Groats. The location was perfect, overlooking the Pentland Firth. The rooms were spotless, and the accomodation was very spacious. The staff were really welcoming and could not do more for us. Really recommend a stay here.

What can I say, the lodge was wonderful, it contained everything you could need. Very comfortable bed. Only a minute walk to the lovely selection of shops and cafe, John O’Groats sign and passenger ferry to Orkney/Wildlife Cruises. Our food hamper had been cancelled by the new manager, which we were not aware of until we had passed the supermarket (20 mins drive away) so had no food until the morning. Apparently Together Travel had tried to ring us but we had no missed calls 🤨 We did have an issue with the boiler and a water leak. We had to physically go and find someone as the phone numbers given to contact the manager don’t work. The outgoing manager stated that she didn’t use the mobile and the land line to the office (which wouldn’t connect) is a waste of time as she stated she never goes in the office?? Once we had her private number things got sorted. The cleaners do need to take a bit more care as the table, island and chopping board had dried food on them and under the sofa hadn’t been hoovered. I cleaned it myself on arrival. Despite these few issues, it was the most wonderful place to stay and can’t wait to return. Already missing the sea view and wonderful sunsets. #togethertravelco

Stayed in one of the lodges (12) with my family and one dog. Was excited to stay here as the views are great and had heard some good things online. Received a phone call 24 hours prior to arriving and the manager Stephanie called to see if we needed anything. Nice touch I thought . Got to the lodge and got ourselves in - found a few things wrong: no WiFi being one, but also no working DVD, and one of the blinds was missing a pulley so couldn’t close it. By the way - the pulleys are a health and safety nightmare and shouldn’t ever be used due to suffocation/strangling risk. Anyway, we mentioned the WiFi issue straight away as two in our group were having to unfortunately work whilst staying for the duration - not constantly but needed to get on line. That didn’t happen. Stephanie tried to deflect and made up a vast number of excuses about why it wasn’t working but she seemed completely out of her depth of trying to even resolve it, she was constantly running around flustered and just seemed totally inept at having any customer service at all. We complained to Together Travel whilst we were out in Thurso - and had decent connection! Received a telephone call whilst back at the lodge with an option of using Lodge 19 as the WiFi there was working. However we were 3/4 through the vacation by then so didn’t want to up sticks and move everything to this new lodge - and the view wasn’t as good as 12 either. Stephanie just disappeared and couldn’t / wouldn’t show her face or offer anything as compensation, and to be honest neither did Together Travel. I would’ve given 1 star for a Terri or stay but I have to make allowances for the great view across the Pentland Firth. Very disappointed with the overall way that this whole issue was dealt this - or not dealt with really. Just hope nothing goes wrong if you book and stay here as the team seen really inexperienced and inept at resolving. Customer service doesn’t appear to be a strong point. If you advertise yourselves as having a service then make sure the guests have it - or don’t mention it at all. The WiFi or DVD were never resolved by the time we checked out after a 5 day stay

Stayed in the one bed apartment in the yellow toft which had amazing views of the sea while still feeling private from passers-by. Room had everything we needed for a few days and was very comfortable, the staff that were there were very helpful.

Used these apartments as part of my 4 day End 2 End cycle attempt. I would 100% recommend it. The support from the staff (Jenn/Stephanie) with a parcel meant my cycle attempt was a success and I had a fresh change of clothes at the end of a 4 day slog. The room itself was beautiful and a very tranquil place to spend time after a hectic 4 days. Amazing view! I'll be forever thankful for the team looking after me and ensuring I had a ground floor room with my bike. Look forward to seeing the team again at some stage. Great work. Keep it up.
