We visited for the special Valentine's Dinner and were not disappointed. Lovely music by local artistes in the background, a glass of champagne on arrival and then a 6 course set menu delivered to all the diners at the same time. Attentive staff and a red rose for my wife completed a special evening - well done Forss House for...

I know that's overplayed but it's true! The (2 rosette) food was excellent, the bedroom so clean and well furnished, the bed so comfy, but the real reason for the Forss House Hotel being so enjoyable is the staff! Anne is the manager, and is an absolute asset to the hotel, as is the duty manager Aylie. The waiting staff,...

We went here for the second time for our Christmas meal, what a lovely homely place this is, I absolutely love it, my daughter and her partner has bought us a gift voucher and I cannot wait to go back.

Stayed in the Mill House which is a short walk from the main hotel. The house is very spacious and well kept. It has kept some of the features of the mill and the sound of the waterfall is amazing. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Perfect place for a relaxing holiday. We had a meal in...

We visited with a friend as part of our North 500 road trip as recommended in the Daily Telegraph newspaper review and were not disappointed. The entrance drive builds up the "wow" factor which is further enhanced as you enter the entrance lobby. The building is steeped in history and the original breathtaking decor and staircase leading to the beautifully...

We went for a meal at the Hotel. We walked into reception and eventually Eilidh came to take our coats and escort us to the bar for pre-dinner drinks. We ordered our meal and were taken into the restaurant by Holly who helped by Eilidh served our meal. It was excellent. I had a steak, which I am pleased to...

We booked a "Master Double" in the River House. It was a nice, comfortable room a short walk from the main building. Had our own assigned parking spot. Comfortable bed and good wi-fi. We ate dinnner at the hotel the first night, and it was very good.

All the staff at this hotel were excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. The restaurant has two rosettes, so we were slightly disappointed that the same menu was offered both nights of our stay. Surely a chef of this calibre can cope with a daily 'special' so that guests have a little more choice. Our room was...

We travelled over 500 miles from West Yorkshire for our wedding without seeing Forss House Hotel. Friends had said it was a suitable location for a small family gathering and we took them at their word. We sure were not disappointed. The place had all the charm we expected from a small country house hotel but what really knocked us...

We were driving the NC500 in our sports car and there isn't a lot of choice of hotels at the top of Scotland so we selected this one despite the average reviews from a couple of other NC500 travellers. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere after Thurso (we were driving anti-clockwise, something I fully recommend as the West...
