Stayed at the St Clair hotel for 2 nights ( 17/18 June) and loved it. Upon entering the hotel it was easy to see how much care was taken to make our stay enjoyable. At reception I was met by both the owners, Beverley and Jamie if I remember correctly. They were very chatty and made us feel relaxed. Our...

I stay in luxury hotels and everything in between down to bivouacs. I have read the previous reviews and would like to bring a balanced perspective to this hotel. I agree that for those who are perhaps less fit or elderly the stairs and doorways might be an issue but it is entirely possible to request a ground floor room....

Stayed here 2 nights as part of a Globus tour. This was my least favorite hotel on the entire tour. The room (a single) was so small with a twin bed and 2 of the flattest pillows ever. The bathroom was also tiny but the shower worked pretty well (dreaded shower curtain, beware) There were very few TV channels available....

Reception staff exceptionally nice Hotel been renovated and clean but old and building seems to be buildings joined together so it is up and down stairs and in and out of fire doors which makes it difficult with luggage

We were given a very nice and clean twin room with a hot shower. The hotel is very well located in the center of Thurso and breakfast was included in the very reasonable rate which was great. We would stay again.

We stayed just one night on our North Coast 500 adventure and room was adequate, we had to move the bed along the wall as we were in an attic room with eaves and my husband had to bend down, so moving the bed gave him a little more headroom but it was all clean and tidy and as with...

This is a place that worked for us as we needed to go to Orkney in the early morning on a Ferry. The staff is outstanding and the owners make every effort to accomadate you. The dinners were very tasty & good. This is NOT gourmet dining however very good and served well.

On coming back from a shopping trip, we stayed overnight in this hotel. we ate out as menu did not look promising, but on our way back in we noticed, many folk were in dinning room. So wondered why the menu implied, little choice, this is my only complaint, maybe they should extend menu. Other than that I would recommend...

We were attracted to the restaurant by noticing there was already a large group dining there. The food was very tasty and good value too. We had seafood starter followed by lamb shank with cabbage and mashed potato. I wish I could make such delicious mash at home. We did not stay in the hotel, just ate there.

We stayed here on a tour. This is a family run hotel. We were made to feel very welcome. The room, at the back of the hotel, was quiet and a decent size with plenty of floor space. The bathroom was small but did have a walk-in shower. The dining room staff were excellent. Very friendly and professional. The food...
