Well worth the long trip. The rooms are huge with amazing showers. Plenty of extra bedding if needed but we didn't need to use them as the central heating was enough. You didn't even realise how cold it was outside. There is also plenty of information of where to visit and eat. Lisa was an amazing host and cooked an... More

Our room on the top floor was very comfortable and provided everything we needed. The staff were most friendly and helpful and helped us to find our way around Thurso and the local places of interest. Breakfasts were yummy and set us up for a busy day's sight-seeing. We would happily stay there again.

I travelled alone and Lisa answered fast and gave me lots of suggestions for activities (she also took me out for a one day trip, Fantastic!). The dogs are nice and friendly. Staff are kind and helpful. The room was nice and clean, made me feel like home. Breakfast was great. Even I needed to leave quite early, the breakfast... More

Arrived her with a huge welcome from Lisa and her two very friendly dogs. Traveled with another couple and we each enjoyed our brief but pleasent stay. Lisa was a great host and anxious to please. Great location and just minutes from the Orkney Ferry terminal. Ask Lisa about where she eats.. great seafood place. Rooms were spacious, clean and... More

Second time we have stayed here this year, first time in April and again October, and was not disappointed on either occasion.A warm welcome with great accommodation.Loved the two friendly dogs on our arrival. We were given the family room, although there were only two of us guys, which had lots of room, clean, warm, peaceful. Breakfast was huge, but... More

The PLH provided the space for a family of 5 in the one room we were after in Thurso. The room was large and ensuite and very comfortable, clean and warm. Breakfast was a great start to the day and the dogs were a big hit with my girls. We found this the best option for our family, it is... More

Pentland Lodge is a lovely guest house which is clean, spacious and comfortable. Its location just a few minutes' walk from the ocean is ideal and it allowed for easy access to the Orkney Islands. Our hostess, Lisa, was wonderfully helpful, friendly warm and welcoming and made terrific breakfasts. We would definitely recommend her facility and would gladly return!

Beautiful old former manse just minutes from the sea with lovely sea views from our room (don't think all the rooms have sea views so check when booking). We had booked standard rooms but were upgraded to the higher cost rooms and what a treat they were, lovely big and spacious, but cosy at the same time - beds were... More

Spacious, characterful accommodation with plenty of off-street parking. The bedroom and en-suite were well-appointed, and there was loads of local information available for those unfamiliar with the area. Only a few minutes walk from the town centre, and there was a branch of Lidl nearby!
