Detailed Reviews
Just finished a two night stay here whilst doing the NC500. The rooms are very basic and I’ve stayed in cheaper hotels along the route with much comfier rooms.
After saying that the hotel was spotless and was made to feel safe during the current pandemic. Staff that we encountered throughout the stay were very friendly and approachable. They were efficient on check in and explained the new “normal” that the hotel have adapted to.
Rooms very stuffy and hot but couldn’t leave window open as it was too windy and noisy outside (although that can’t really be helped)
The hotel has a car park but only has four spaces, we parked in the multi-storey opposite which was actually cheaper anyway.
Hotel is in perfect location for bars, restaurants, bus station and railway station all in walking distance.
Breakfast was nice (could do with a few more beans on the plate though lol) good selection of foods. Evening meal was nice but you have to book this (as I’m sure with most places lately) would definitely stay here again if we ever visited Inverness

I was slightly concerned that because of Corona Virus they had severely limited their services which included removing their kettle and other tea/ coffee making stuff. This did not happen in other hotels that we were staying at in same location
We arrived earlier that 3pm check in time after a tiring journey. Most hotels would have tried to see if the room was ready but we were all left to wait until dead on 3pm
The hotel was modern but only sparsely furnished. I didn’t find it comfortable I am afraid

I was coming up from Aberdeen to do the NC500 so needed somewhere to stay overnight, I have always wanted to try the Penta Hotel as they offer player rooms which are aimed at "gamers" and include a PS4. It is a bit of a strange setup to check in as the bar/reception area are combined but the man checking us in was fantastic, so bright and bubbly and willing to go the extra mile.
Our room was really clean and tidy but did lack the "gamer" feel with only a picture and a PS4 differing it from a standard room but at premium cost. I did like the rooms styling but did notice when the rain shower is on, the water makes its way onto the main bathroom floor and starts to flood it which wasn't great.
I had no controllers or games for the PS4 so after going down to reception the lovely guy went above and beyond and fetched some for us. We decided to have a drink whilst we waited: two gins with lemonade came to £13.50 which is quite expensive, not sure how much the other spirits are, the bar area gives off a nightclub feel but has plenty of seating, tv's and a pool table.
All in all our stay was okay, not sure it is worth the premium to stay in the player rooms but it is clean and tidy, staff are really friendly and it is located in the centre of Inverness with a minutes walk away from the bus/train station.

Hotel is on par with a backpackers hostel . No room services you have to source clean towels and toilet rolls yourself. Breakfast was bad in restaurant so tried the continental breakfast delivered to your room it came with a croissant some jam an apple and a yogurt and no cutlery. Eventually opted for bacon and egg roll delivered to your room which turned out to be the best option. If your room is at the rear of hotel you will be wakened by the bins and bottles bin being emptied and put out for collecting at 05.30 hours . Only positive thing it is close to bus and railway stations.

The staff here are really friendly and helpful. They took our baggage early, lent us cutlery (so we could eat a take away in our rooms), printed off a boarding pass and brought it straight up. Couldn't fault them. The rooms were fresh and modern, immaculately clean, and a really generous size. We got 'bumped' here after being let down by the Royal Highland hotel, and I'm very glad! If I stay in Inverness again, this would be my top choice.

For a central location in the city this is an ideal hotel, being very close to the train and bus station as well as being surrounded by restaurants and pubs. The river is a short stroll away and you certainly feel like you’re in the middle of all the action. I arrived quite late in the evening on a Friday but the arrival process was slick and the staff friendly. Reception is located behind the bar as per all the properties in the chain, so it can feel busier than necessary, but the small lift was quick at getting you to the accommodation floors.
The rooms itself was a decent enough size although did feel a little sparse. There was a working desk along with a lovely book on the city sights although drink facilities were lacking. The armchair was comfortable, as was the bed, but the view wasn’t much. The bathroom had a large walk in shower with disappointing damage to the glass wall, and although the metal sink wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste there was at least plenty of storage space surrounding it.
The restaurant and bar was comfortable with some good seating options for both singletons and groups. Drink choices seemed to be very limited, although with the number of immediate options outside this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Overall for a short stay where you need to be in the city centre I’d recommend and would certainly return. The room wasn’t the most cosy however so I’m not sure I would consider for a holiday base but with the exciting surroundings there wouldn’t be much need to spend an excessive amount of time there!

I booked the Pentahotel for a birthday treat fo my mothers 82nd birthday along with my brother and sister, when we arrived just before 3pm there was a very long line of people waiting to check in along with piles of luggage, my mother is in a wheelchair and we couldn’t move, after waiting for which seemed like a lifetime to check in, none of the keys worked, people were running up and down stairs and using the lift the get key sorted, this happened to myself and my brother & sister about 7 times in 24 hrs.
Breakfast was a nightmare, the coffee machine was broken and food trays empty, folk were waiting for hot food to be replaced and we had to get coffee from the bar.
The poor young receptionist was constantly having people complaining and ended up sobbing crying when we approached her, her hands were shaking and she could hardly use the key board, when we asked to speak to the manager she told us he was not there, she was on her own working from the day before without any support. We tried to reassure her it was not her fault because she was crying and so upset.
For the price £171.00 per room the hotel is a disgrace
For 4 drinks we were £37.00 and they didn’t have soda water or even a drinks menu
I would never stay in this hotel again, as it was a birthday treat for my mother who suffers very poor health, it was very upsetting and disappointing
As for the receptionist I think her name was Leanna, I would give you 10 out of 10 for working in such horrendous conditions without any support

I don’t like to write a bad review but this was a terrible stay.
Pro’s of the place are that there was one young guy at reception who was very helpful and the cleaners also helpful too albeit place is in a dirty state
Con’s are
1. Dirt
Lifts, Corridors even dining tables were in a poor state and we’re not cleaned properly. Bedroom windows don’t seem to have ever been cleaned
2. Poor attitude
Check in staff had an attitude - kept us waiting despite knowing we were standing there. General poor attitude of night time staff esp unhelpful re lack of parking issue
3. Decor
Downstairs bar and communal area’s have been recently refurbished but rooms are in a very poor decorative standard
Overall - truly terrible experience
Would not ever stay again and do not recommend

Spent 4 Nights at the Pentahotel Inverness whilst doing a course with my company. Must be honest I wasn't familiar with the brand and so not sure exactly what to expect. Pleased to say that I was impressed with my stay here. Room was on fourth floor and had a nice outlook. Comfortable bed and decent storage. Nice little touches made the room more comfortable like the easy chairs and the lamps and spotlights. The breakfast selection was varied and cooked breakfast was very fulfilling. Had the continental option on one morning and this too was good and varied. Staff were all very friendly, I was particularly impressed with both Laura and Amy who both had a very positive and friendly attitude. They both made that extra effort to make you feel welcome and valued and that was appreciated. Can't be easy in the current climate with all the extra Covid considerations. All in all, I'd happily recommend this hotel and would definitely consider the chain in future for both business or leisure.

Where to even begin?
Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Firstly, the room was dirty and the carpet had a soaking wet patch in the middle of the room.
Secondly, the street noise was intolerable all night with no soundproofing with the window closed.
Then there’s the fact that even if you don’t book it, they put you in rooms with adjoining doors, so you can hear everything from the other room.
Now, the bed. We’re doing the NC-500 and I’m pretty sure sleeping on the rocks along the shore of Loch Ness would have been far more comfortable. The mattress is as hard as a rock, the pillow offers no support whatsoever and the room is sweltering, even in mid September.
I would avoid this, a budget hostel would offer more comfort than this hotel.
